Advantages: Great looks and well built.
Disadvantages: Some features fail to impress and the overall image quality is far from great.

...Most of you who read my reviews regularly will by now know that as well as being a professional photographer, I am also part of a camera club and as such I get the chance to test many various types of cameras and often give seminars and write reviews on these cameras. A few days ago I was handed the latest in what is a short line of Fujifilm?s F series compacts and I set about finding out just how good this new Fujifilm FinePix F60FD actually is. Following on from the F50FD this luxury compact camera is jam packed full of features and clever ideas, it has a massive 12MP resolution, a 3X optical zoom and a huge 3 inch screen so it is on par or better than many of its immediate rivals on these fronts but can it carry off great photography or is it all about having the gimmicks and the toys to appear a good camera rather than being one...

Advantages: Innovative, fun to use
Disadvantages: takes getting used to

...I got the Samsung F480 recently as a free upgrade from my contract provider, I don't think I would have paid for this phone as I'm fairly clumsy and wouldn't have been convinced the large screen would have lasted more than a month. The phone itself however isn't as fragile as it looks and I haven't managed to do any damage to it yet (Despite dropping it on several occasions and sitting on it once.) I'm not going to go in all the technical details of the phone as I don't think they provide you what you really need to know about the phone so I'll stick to the stuff that I use a mobile for. Navigating you way round the menu's on the phone is fairly easy and I find the touchscreen quite innovative, the menu's follow the standard Samsung format and you can find everything you need quite easily, the phone is obviously an attempt to rival...

Samsung F-480 (Tocco)

Advantages: Incredibly stylish and functional
Disadvantages: None as of yet!

...At first a little apprehensive, after always having Samsung products i wondered if it would live up to it's rivals! It does! The F480 (Or Tocco as commonly known) is an excellent example in it's class. The camera at first glance is a little dissapointing but with a the correct settings and when pictures uploaded onto your computer, the quality really shines through. Simple, easy to use functions and the ultra responsive touch screen are an asset to this mobile phone. The widget feature is brilliant, although a little too responsive and sometimes frustrating! Basic menu functions include, text messages, phone book, my files, applications, music player etc and more! Little hidden extra gems included, such as world clock (which can be viewed in the widget) converter, video editor, voice recorder and the uber impressive music...

Advantages: Looks great, has lots of useful functions and you can personalise it to your exact needs.
Disadvantages: Slow internet, hardly ever get a 3G signal and the text messaging keypad could be improved.

Light as the Air, Nikon D60

Advantages: Very small and light, wide range of Nikon lenses
Disadvantages: Slow Autofocus

...at the back is small compared to others of similar standard but it does feel big. This is probably due to the extraordinary small body of the D60. It does make good viewing even outside in bright-ish conditions. The information displayed on the LCD screen itself is great. The colors are bland and undazzling, with all the correct information where you would expect it. The all important auto mode works well but is let down by a slightly, dodgy let?s say, white balance auto mode. The mode selector on the top of the camera also works well with no real problems found during my two weeks of using this camera. Other modes include; portrait, night portraits and sport. Samsung F480 - Its good but its not great

Advantages: Good features and applications, good looking phone
Disadvantages: Touch screen too sensitive, poor battery life, poor flash facility on camera

...The Samsung SGH-F480 is a great looking, slimline sleek little phone, but in my opinion these touch screen mobiles are vastly over-rated. The F480 has a wide range of features, camera, mp3, radio, camcorder, bluetooth etc etc and the quality of the features is never in doubt, its simply too sensitive! For instance when making a phone call, you push the phone too closely to your ear and you cut off the caller! Subsequently, you cannot hear the caller as you are trying not to press the phone too hard against your ear. You need to access touch buttons whilst in call and it takes you 2 or three buttons before you can access this. Also beware when the call requires you to select numeric options - after you have finally accessed the keyboard on the screen you may have been cut off or if you do get it to work in time the automated caller...

Disadvantages: It´s not so good not to have any.

Samsung F480 - Sleek, funky phone

Advantages: Easy to use, long battery life
Disadvantages: Texting takes a while to get used to

...I have had this phone for about 2 weeks now, and have to say its absolutely ace! Firstly, the look is so sleek, I previously had the Nokia N95, which even though it was a good phone, was a bit on the chunky side! The Samsung F480 is very sexy, is thin, and stylish and the touch screen is ace. Texting takes a bit of getting used to, but I'm just about getting there now! The touch screen isn't hard to use, its actually very easy and the menus are all easy to navigate around too. I have been very impressed with the battery life of this phone, my old N95 ran out of battery after about 2 days of normal use, the Samsung F480 has lasted 5/6 days, so I'm only having to charge it around once a week. I would recommend this phone to anyone!...

60 seconds?!

...Rimmel 60 seconds has been out for quite a while now, but it is a great product! I actually have this shade shown in the picture, it is 610 Pompous if you are keen! Why is this a good product? First of all, Rimmel is a very trustworthy brand and I would imagine they have very great customer satisfaction. The product itself has a pro-cision brush. This is a good idea because it makes it a lot more accurate and proffesional. These nail varnishes also come in lots of different colours which is useful if you are trying to find one to match an outfit! Rimmel even do a French manicure section! Where do I find this? This nail varnish can be found at any leading beauty store and they do tend to sell it in Tesco, Morrison's, Sainsbury's and Asda! It retails for no more than £2.00 which is an absolute bargain if you think of OPI...
