Review of BMW F650GS

Advantages: Good around town
Disadvantages: Motorway Speeds

...I?ve owned the F650GS for 2 years; there are good points and bad for the bike. Handling at motorway speeds, this bike is not the cruiser as it appears in its looks. On more than one occasion, at speeds in Europe above the 80mph limit stated when the panniers are fitted, the back tries to overtake the front. Even without the panniers, there is a great deal of wheel wobble from the rear, starting at 80mph; this can make overtaking manoeuvres a little chaotic. The maximum speed is around the 105 mark, if you are prepared to tolerate the back end waving at the vehicle behind. I?ve used the bike off road a couple of times going through mainly forests, it copes with it, but I think that you would need to invest in knobbly tyres before you get the best out of this bike in this terrain. ...I got my GS December of '03. It had 4,000 miles on it and I bought it for $6,800. The odometer now has over 17,000 miles on it. I absolutely love it. A bit about me for the record: I'm 5'3 and female. The whole dual purpose thing is fantastic and the 650 GS is the perfect dual purpose for someone who actually wants to use the bike on the street too. The street performance is excellent, it's super fun in the corners and thelarge front wheel handles all the potholes, bad pavement and such with ease. I can easily keep up with my sportrider friends. In the dirt it is also a great bike. I definitely wouldn't take it to the motocross track but I would take it on the Dakar. It is big and heavy (Touratech in particular makes a whole line of accessories to make it easier to handle off road) so that takes a while to get used to . I...

F650 I'd buy it again!

Advantages: Ease of use, reliable picture quality, looks good.
Disadvantages: Images not 100% pin sharp but probably as good as any at price.

Advantages: Innovative, fun to use
Disadvantages: takes getting used to

...I got the Samsung F480 recently as a free upgrade from my contract provider, I don't think I would have paid for this phone as I'm fairly clumsy and wouldn't have been convinced the large screen would have lasted more than a month. The phone itself however isn't as fragile as it looks and I haven't managed to do any damage to it yet (Despite dropping it on several occasions and sitting on it once.) I'm not going to go in all the technical details of the phone as I don't think they provide you what you really need to know about the phone so I'll stick to the stuff that I use a mobile for. Navigating you way round the menu's on the phone is fairly easy and I find the touchscreen quite innovative, the menu's follow the standard Samsung format and you can find everything you need quite easily, the phone is obviously an attempt to rival...

...At first a little apprehensive, after always having Samsung products i wondered if it would live up to it's rivals! It does! The F480 (Or Tocco as commonly known) is an excellent example in it's class. The camera at first glance is a little dissapointing but with a the correct settings and when pictures uploaded onto your computer, the quality really shines through. Simple, easy to use functions and the ultra responsive touch screen are an asset to this mobile phone. The widget feature is brilliant, although a little too responsive and sometimes frustrating! Basic menu functions include, text messages, phone book, my files, applications, music player etc and more! Little hidden extra gems included, such as world clock (which can be viewed in the widget) converter, video editor, voice recorder and the uber impressive music...

...The PalmOne Treo 650 is a very expensive phone / PDA. Fortunately the company I work for supplies this to me other wise I probably would not have given it a second glance. The Treo 650 looks a tidy aesthetically pleasing item, with a reasonable size screen showing 320 x 320 pixel resolution and is touch sensitive. The keyboard on the Treo 650 is a delight, it sits underneath the screen and has large sized buttons with a raised face to allow quick correct typing. The SV 650 is a quality motorcycle that does everything.

Advantages: Performance, purchase price, cheap insurance, resale value.

The Suzuki SV 650 is by far the greatest value on the market right now. For under $7,500 US you get a very sharp looking bike that performs well and does everything you ask of it.
