House of Fraser Guildford

...House of Fraser, or Army and Navy as it was previously known, has bought business and people to Guildford for many years now. But why is it that people keep coming back? What is it about the House of Fraser experience that keeps luring them back to the store? My nearest House of Fraser has been shut for about nine months. But, after huge rennovation, it has now re-opened it's doors and it's stunning. It has marble floors, glass bannisters, chrome escalators... the list goes on - it's a nice modern building. Inside, there is a great collection of just about anything. There's clothing, homeware, electronics - all made by well-known and good quality makes. House of Fraser - House of Hell

Advantages: Good coffee bar....
Disadvantages: Rude staff, over priced products, poor layout

...I went into the GlasgowHouse of Fraser this weekend after being given £100 worth of vouchers. I had been into the store on a couple of previous occassions but each time, I had the feeling that I wasn't good enough to shop there and that I didn't belong. When you start to worry that a bouncer won't admit you because you aren't wearing the right shoes or if your hair isn't combed just right, or god forbid your toddler isn't wearing clearly visible designer labels, you know it isn't going to be an enjoyable shopping experience. I decided to have a look for some shorts and t-shirt for my son since the sun was shining (Being Glasgow I hadn't anticipated the heat wave we had). Samsung F480

Advantages: Innovative, fun to use
Disadvantages: takes getting used to

...I got the Samsung F480 recently as a free upgrade from my contract provider, I don't think I would have paid for this phone as I'm fairly clumsy and wouldn't have been convinced the large screen would have lasted more than a month. The phone itself however isn't as fragile as it looks and I haven't managed to do any damage to it yet (Despite dropping it on several occasions and sitting on it once.) I'm not going to go in all the technical details of the phone as I don't think they provide you what you really need to know about the phone so I'll stick to the stuff that I use a mobile for. Navigating you way round the menu's on the phone is fairly easy and I find the touchscreen quite innovative, the menu's follow the standard Samsung format and you can find everything you need quite easily, the phone is obviously an attempt to rival...

Samsung F-480 (Tocco)

Advantages: Incredibly stylish and functional
Disadvantages: None as of yet!

...At first a little apprehensive, after always having Samsung products i wondered if it would live up to it's rivals! It does! The F480 (Or Tocco as commonly known) is an excellent example in it's class. The camera at first glance is a little dissapointing but with a the correct settings and when pictures uploaded onto your computer, the quality really shines through. Simple, easy to use functions and the ultra responsive touch screen are an asset to this mobile phone. The widget feature is brilliant, although a little too responsive and sometimes frustrating! Basic menu functions include, text messages, phone book, my files, applications, music player etc and more! Little hidden extra gems included, such as world clock (which can be viewed in the widget) converter, video editor, voice recorder and the uber impressive music...

Fuji FinePix F70EXR - slimline super-zoom

Advantages: Features, Low-light capability
Disadvantages: A little confusing to master and a little too expensive

...The Fuji FinePix F70EXR is billed by the manufacturer as the slimmest 10x zoom camera on the market and, at less than 23mm in depth, it is certainly very easy and convenient to carry around. The zoom is great for magnification, being the equivalent of 27-270mm in 35mm terms, but I found it to be a little fuzzy at the long end. There is also a 4x digital zoom for anyone who wants it. The FinePix F-series cameras are renowned for their low-light (high ISO) capabilities and the F70EXR should be no exception, sharing as it does the 1/2 inch sensor of the F200EXR but with 2 million fewer pixels crammed onto it. ...Fraser Island is a beautiful island off Queenslands coast. If you're planning on driving you'll need a 4 wheel drive though as it is a sand island. You are able to camp behind the sand dunes for a small fee, and this is an experience that will be remembered. If this isn't your style, there are also various resorts and hotels offering different types of accommodation. There's lots of local wildlife to see, such as the dingos, which at times can be a little too friendly (make sure if you're camping you lock any food away, and bins or the dingos will help themselves). There are some great inland lakes and streams that run out to the ocean which simply must be see. Samsung F480 - Its good but its not great

Advantages: Good features and applications, good looking phone
Disadvantages: Touch screen too sensitive, poor battery life, poor flash facility on camera

...The Samsung SGH-F480 is a great looking, slimline sleek little phone, but in my opinion these touch screen mobiles are vastly over-rated. The F480 has a wide range of features, camera, mp3, radio, camcorder, bluetooth etc etc and the quality of the features is never in doubt, its simply too sensitive! For instance when making a phone call, you push the phone too closely to your ear and you cut off the caller! Subsequently, you cannot hear the caller as you are trying not to press the phone too hard against your ear. You need to access touch buttons whilst in call and it takes you 2 or three buttons before you can access this. Also beware when the call requires you to select numeric options - after you have finally accessed the keyboard on the screen you may have been cut off or if you do get it to work in time the automated caller...

Samsung F480 - Sleek, funky phone

Advantages: Easy to use, long battery life
Disadvantages: Texting takes a while to get used to

...I have had this phone for about 2 weeks now, and have to say its absolutely ace! Firstly, the look is so sleek, I previously had the Nokia N95, which even though it was a good phone, was a bit on the chunky side! The Samsung F480 is very sexy, is thin, and stylish and the touch screen is ace. Texting takes a bit of getting used to, but I'm just about getting there now! The touch screen isn't hard to use, its actually very easy and the menus are all easy to navigate around too. I have been very impressed with the battery life of this phone, my old N95 ran out of battery after about 2 days of normal use, the Samsung F480 has lasted 5/6 days, so I'm only having to charge it around once a week. I would recommend this phone to anyone!...
