...Skywatcher Explorer 200 F/5 & HEQ5 Mount
As this telescope comes in two parts (the scope - the mount) and each part is available separately, I've written two reviews, one for each.
Firstly the Scope
***Specifications***
Main Mirror Size = 8" (200mm), generally the bigger the better. But the bigger it is the less portable everything becomes, it's a bit of a balancing act...
Focal Length = 1000mm, the length from the main mirror to the Eyepiece. There is no "better" here; a lot depends on what you want the scope to do.
Focal Ratio = F/5 (Fast), associated with Focal length above. The lower the F/# the faster the scope which will make photography easier and give bigger field of views. Low F/#'s = good for Deep sky Objects (galaxies, star clusters). High F/#'s = good for Planets. This does not mean that if you have a Low F...
Advantages: One big tune Disadvantages: Unoriginal
...Coming two years since his last, ?Category F5? came as the seventh solo album from the Chicagoan rapper Twista in 2009. It finds the speed rapper, who made his breakthrough with a collaboration with Kanye West in 2004 on ?Slow Jamz?, coming with more of his typical work that he has producing since his 1992 debut (when he won a Guinness World Record for his rapping speed).
1. ?Misunderstood?
In a track that includes an introduction to the album (and why this was given as its title) you see that a rough tune comes through as he works with Buk and after a nice little flow, you see that Tista gets a chance to lay down the speedy style that he has stuck with since his debut (when it was popular) and so sounds original at this time, when in fact he just hasn?t kept up with times. However this one works here.
**Three Stars**

Advantages: Fast, reliable, tough, accurate...youname it. Disadvantages: Weight and price tag.
...absorbs most of the weight so effectively. This sort of straps are not cheap, but in the end the investment pays off.
The diecast body of this camera is coated with heavy duty rubber which gives the F5 a really firm grip. This is most welcome when it?s, say, August 3 pm and you?re sweating you?re life out taking pictures. No problem. No matter how sweaty your hands are, the camera never slips from your hands.
Another thing that might put off a prospective buyer is the amazing amount of buttons and hidden controls the F5 has. But, I?m talking out of experience, all the buttons which are usually needed are located where they should be. The hidden features require a more thorough study of the manual.
Counting buttons, controls and switches of all kind it gives us the discouraging figure of 34? yep, very off-putting even for pros. I don...

Review of Nikon F5
Advantages: Great clean shave, quick charge time, funky colours Disadvantages: Design and position of on/off button is infuriating!
...I used to have an old Remington shaver and since that lasted about 4 years before it finally gave up the ghost, I decided to go for another. I plumped for the F510 F5 because it was on special offer at Amazon, so I got it for £29.99! Extra features for no extra cost were a big lure I have to say! Normally the Titanium series shavers come in at over £60, which would be a bit much on my budget. But let's see what you get for the extra money.
The main selling point is that the F510 uses Titanium coated foils, which is meant to give a better "cutting performance" and they're supposed to last longer. Initially I was quite sceptical as I don't believe anything can replace the feel of a wet shave, but I was surprised! These titanium foils are brilliant! The overall shave is much smoother, and over about 6 months I've not noticed any...
Advantages: Good quality results. Good build. Compact. Price. Disadvantages: Distortion with architecture and interior shots.
...) although fairly compact and obviously well built, with a nice (I think) smooth black 'crinkle' finish which, while seeming to 'attract' dust, is just as easy to wipe over and keep clean. The lens feels well balanced on most cameras.
With a maximum aperture of f/4 at the widest end and f/5.6 at the longer end, it is a little 'slower' than it's Canon counterpart. However, just like the Canon lens, the technological constraints have not been pushed too hard and consequently, the result is a better performing lens, albeit with slightly less 'exciting' specification. This is no bad thing in my opinion. What's the point of an f/2.8 maximum aperture , when resulting quality is poor, even sometimes at the expense of overall performance throughout the entire zoom range and at all apertures?
Unlike Canon, Sigma DO include a proper lens hood (petal...
Advantages: Small, lightweight, low cost, ease of use. Disadvantages: Build quality could be a little better (minor)
...To understand this telescope, you will need to understand certain terms that astronomers use. I will try and expain things as we go along, but this is a fairly long review. Stay with me, OK ?
*** Background :
I have always been into astronomy, and have owned various telescopes over the years, since about the age of 11. A few years ago, I got back into photography as a major hobby, this time, combined with photography.
I started off with the biggest and most expensive scope I could afford, a huge reflector by Helios on massive mount and tripod. Unfortunately, I am physically disabled, and this combination was just too much for me to handle, so I sold it and looked out for a much smaller lighter scope.
After visitng several local astronomers, I was convinced I had found the right scope in the Skywatcher Startravel 102mm F5...
Advantages: When it works, it is brilliant! Disadvantages: When it doesn't , it inspires computer rage!!!!
...the Belkin F5D 7632-4. It was in my price range and offered four cable (ethernet connections) and the wireless capability too.
I would imagine that these qualities might draw you to the same conclusion.
So off you trot , cash in hand to buy one from the nearest store. You ask a few questions from the salesperson, who tells you something of which you have no comprehension, but sounds convincing!
Satisfied that you have listened to an expert. You toddle off home, eagerly anticipating your new internet adventure. This where your troubles begin!! Because when you set up your new machine, there is a host of information you need to know and understand. If you are technology minded, this is easy peasy !
However if you are not , it's about as practical as teaching nuclear physics to a window cleaner! ( no offence intended)
You set up your...
Advantages: Decent quality on a budget but only for APS-C digital SLR's. Disadvantages: Really quite poor when used with full-frame digital SLR's.
...of good quality. I don't know if it is simply a variation between samples but my own APO version appeared to have somewhat 'smoother' zooming than my friend's non APO one. As usual for Sigma, a decent lens hood (barrel type) and a soft case are included in the package. The lens sports a 58mm filter thread, so filters are relatively inexpensive to purchase.
Being of more 'ordinary' status in the Sigma hierarchy, this AF 70-300mm f/4-f/5.6 DG APO Macro, has none of the more elaborate 'bells and whistles' evident on the more expensive EX range. What does this mean? Well, you don't get Sigma's superb HSM (Hypersonic Motor) AF (auto-focusing) for near silent and very fast AF, resulting in a somewhat more unsophisticated, noisy (although not overly so) and slightly 'harsh' action. It still works well however! Also, you get no FTM (full time manual...

...I finally took the plunge and bought a wireless router (Netgear DG834G) but then needed either a usb dongle NIC or PC Card (PCMCIA) NIC. At first I borrowed a USB dongle from a friend. This worked fine but the connection to the back of my laptop appeared weak. That made my decision for me....it had to be the stronger PC Card variant. I chose the Belkin F5D7010 as it was cheaper than the other branded rivals, and I could pick it up from my local Argos that day (We have no decent computer shops round here).
Installation was a little different to the supplied instructions and I found it important to follow the installation program. Also when using XP you need to select the option to use the built in XP configuration software if you intend to use WPA security as only WEP is supported by the Belkin software.
Once installed configuration...
