Clinique clarifying lotion helps with milia

Advantages: Clears up my cheek milia, exfoliates really well, diminishes wrinkles
Disadvantages: Stings a bit when applied, fairly expensive for most

...metrosexuals lol. So I decided to give it a go, being very sceptical cos I knew that nothing ever cleared it up beofre. When I applied the lotion to my cleansed face, it started to sting and I thought this was me having some kind of a reaction to it. But my scientist boyfriend said - "it's supposed to sting a bit, this stuff breaks down skin cells because of Hydroxy and glycolic acids. Just give it a chance." So I did and I'm glad I did - after a few days of using it twice daily, I noticed that milia bumps were significantly smaller. Apparently you can get rid of the bumps if you pop them with a sterile needle, but I wouldn't really want to do it myself. And since I get milia frequently, I'd rather have something I can apply to it, then having to run to a beautician everytime they come out again. I still get milia if I skip a few...

Baby lotion for bed time

...and rubbed it into her skin all over, even on the face but of course was very careful around her eyes. The lotion was very smooth and not at all oily. It gave enough moisture to be able to massge her gently without being too hard on her skin. It rubbed it well and left her skin nice and soft. I don't know if it was the lotion or just the motion of my hands massaging her but my baby was very content and relaxed afterwards. I put her to bed and she slept very well and only woke once in the night for a feed! Since then I have used this regularly. It's become part of our bath time routine and I really love it. The smell is magnificent; it smells vaguely sweet, milky and comforting. It reminds me of a mug of horlicks but more milky and with a fresh edge from the aloe. Luckily the smell lasts for ages after you use it. I guess you could say it smells homely. This is quite thick for a lotion but once it makes contact with your skin it becomes more runny and very easy to smooth all over. On the bottle it says it is gentle enough to use on facial skin and I have very sensitive skin in my face and when I used this it did not aggravate it at all and left my face feeling lovely and smooth. Vaseline hand and nail lotion - sensitive enough for my eczema

Advantages: Good value, not slimy or sticky, soft hands
Disadvantages: Quite runny, packaging not perfect, not an intensive moisturiser

...your hands feel soft and I find it can also be used on the face and body. I haven't noticed my nails becoming any stronger, but my nails were pretty strong anyway. There is a faint smell that is not unpleasant, but this scent disappears quickly. It does not feel like a luxury creamy moisturiser, but it is a practical every day lotion that is good value at less than £3 for 200ml. Comparisons I normally used 'aqueous' and 'oilatum', as prescribed by my doctor, but these emollients are quite slimy and sticky for a while after use, so I was very happy to find an alternative that I can use in a hurry. However, the Vaseline lotion will not replace the others because, although it absorbs well into the skin, I find I need 2 or 3 applications formy handsto feel as moisturised as usual.
