...I bought this Clarins 'One Step Facial Cleaner' when I was in Duty Free, I needed a new cleanser so I thought I would give this one a go since I have never tried it before. This particular cleaner is meant to cleanse and tone in one easy step, which I thought was good since it would cut some time out of cleansing and toning separately. The cleanser comes with orange extract and is meant to 'renew radiance'. The bottle is quite a simple design. It is made of see-through clouded white plastic with a red 'Clarins' logo at the stop of the bottle. It then has the name of the cleanser in French and then underneath that 'One Step Facial Cleanser With Orange Extracts'. ...Have you ever stopped to think how many chemicals you expose your skin to on a daily basis - and just in the name of keeping clean? It's quite terrifying! Some are unavoidable (I'm told chemical-free shampoos are pretty useless, even versions from my precious Lush), but after a spot (!) of inspiration a few months back I decided to see if/where it was practical to use more natural alternatives. I confess - I've managed all of one success: Lush's facial cleanser, Herbalism. But what a success! :) Appropriately for a natural product, Herbalism is green. Green greenness! Open your usual Lush low-packaging plastic pot and you'll find a blob of sludgy green, very grainy, clay-like material. It's pretty crumbly, so beware of getting green crumbs everywhere (they do look a little like very anciently mouldy breadcrumbs...!). A quick sniff...

...This is yet another travel sized Burt's Bees product I got from a 'Head to Toe' kit I bought several months ago. I had been using Lush's Babyface cleanser, but found it left my skin feeling slightly greasy, so when it finally ran out, I decided to try this one. Burt's Bees are an American company and their products are mostly made from natural ingredients. This particular one says it is 100% natural on the front of the tube, however the website says 98.8% so either one of them is a misprint, or they have changed the formula recently. The cleanser comes in a yellow tube with a black and orange picture of an orange on it. Perhaps it's actually the colours rather than the design, but I can't help thinking it looks a bit dated - not in a cool retro way, more in a boring, ugly sort of way!
