PLEASE READ! Clinique facial soap does help
Advantages: Cleans face without drying and lasts for ages
Disadvantages: none
...Well clinique describe this product as having all the benefits of Clinique's facial soap in a liquid formula. It is supposed to prep skin for exfoliating without drying the skin and it comes in 3 different strenghts, these are - extra mild, mild and oily and you choose the one which is best suited to your skin type which can either be dry, a combination of oily and dry or very oily, the bottle has a convenient pump that dispenses just the right amount each time you use it .
I have found all this information to be completely true unlike some products that i have tried in the past which tend to bend the truth a bit to sell there products for eg. clearasil who say that your spots will start to go in just 3 days of using there products is a complete lie anyway back to clinique, the product is fragrance free which is good as you can...

Soap IS good for your face!
Advantages: Dermatologically recommended
Disadvantages: None although some may find it expensive
...fit 3 step skin care system, of which the newly launched Liquid Facial Soap is a part along with their exfoliate and clarifying lotion and dramatically different moisturising lotion.
What it does
Removes facial dirt and oil while working to loosen surface flakes without "stripping" your face in the way some cleansers do. Ideally, you will use this as part of the three step skin care treatment outlined above, although I use it on its own (bad girl!)
You can choose a soap to fit your skin type - Very Dry to Dry, Dry to Combination and Combination Oily to Oily skin. As I have combination skin with some dry patches around the nose and jawline, I use the Dry to Combination soap.
It is worth mentioning that Clinique also do a facial soap bar which claims not to ever dry. I haven't tried this so cannot venture an opinion in this instance...

The first I've heard of face soap!
Advantages: Actually work to reduce oil, compact
Disadvantages: Not good on all skins, part of a routine (althoough you do get used to it)
...My experience with the Clinique Facial Soap was an eye opener! When you first think of cleaning your face with soap, (well myself at least) I was actually quite negative as normal soaps can dry your skin and alter the natural production of oils within the face, therefore not seeming te best option. However the lady at the Clinque counter was quick to intervene.
Who is it recommended for?
*******************************
The Facial Soap is recommended for those with oily skin, whether this is combination (the forehead, nose and chin areas) or the whole face. The aim as with most other products for this skin type is to regulate the production of oils, not to dry the skin! You may be pleased to find out that in fact having oily skin can be an advantage when growing older, as oiler skins age slower due to the nature of the oils...

Facial Soap That Works
Advantages: Clean skin, compliments
Disadvantages: Price
...I suffered from acne throughout High School, and always felt terrible about the condition of my skin. I tried the usual products – Clearasil, Clean and Clear, Biore and others, but the condition never really cleared up. After visiting my doctor, and trying creams, smelly lotions and stinging pastes, I really was ready to give up. Although the prescribed creams made a little difference, they were uncomfortable, smelly and a chore to use.
After reading some reviews of the Clinique 3-step system, I decided to give it a go, by first purchasing the Face Soap. Due to the high cost, I started off with one item, to see how it performed.
PACKAGING
The Clinique Skin Supplies for Men Facial Soap comes in a manly grey box, with Clinique written in white. It looks very classy. Once you break into the box, a lovely soap dish greets you...

THE soap
Advantages: Simple and effective
Disadvantages: None
...I use this Clinique Soap - the mild formula - combined with the 3-step system. Ive bought it in Strawberry.net (cheaper, cheaper).
I normally wash my skin with liquid soap, from various brands, but I always love the idea of using a solid soap: it seems for me more classical, easy-going way to clean your skin. And I just love the green box that come with it...
Anyway, the soap.
I've bought the big one, 150g size, and it seems it will last for ages. How to use is not quite a rocket sciense: wash your hands, rub the soap into, and then face in it. Voilá.
The first thing I notice is that it doesnt make any bubbles: its good, I think it means that doesn't have any detergent ingredients on it, or the most abrasive ones. And when you rub into your face, it seems almost like a cleaning lotion, or a light cream. Great texture.
The second...

Fresh Farmacy facial soap
Advantages: Great squeaky clean feeling
Disadvantages: None that I can think of!
...In an effort to combat my blemishes and pay less then I did for my last facial skincare regime products (Liz Earle), I headed down to Lush to check out this facial soap. I read some great reviews of it on dooyoo and so thought I would add in my thoughts as well.
I have to say it no longer looks like the above picture, I was informed that they changed how it looked recently. It is now a very very pale lavender colour, it no longer has those orange shavings on top either. For some reason on the website it is shown as being pink, but this isn't the case in store. The soap is shaped like slices of cake, in a triangular shape with a curved end. There are also a few little specs of something in the soap, I am not sure what they are, I think they may be pieces of dried lavender. Regardless they make the soap a good gentle exfoliant in my...

Stinging Soap
Advantages: Skin feels cleansed after use
Disadvantages: Very expensive for a bar of soap!
...I bought Clinique's Facial Soap two weeks ago, and I think that it was vastly over-priced. The soap itself does not have a nice scent nor does it cleanse my skin any better than an ordinary, cheaper soap. I found that after I used the soap, my skin was cleansed but felt really tight. The soap did not remove all traces of makeup and therefore a separate make-up remover had to be used. After I had used the soap for a week, my skin felt really dry and quite sensitive, I think that the soap is too harsh for my sensitive skin. The soap also irritated my eyes. The packaging of the soap was quite bland and boring too. Overall I would not recommend this soap, as there are other cleansers which perform better, are less expensive and do not irritate delicate skin....

Do you wanna get fresh?... and clean!
Advantages: Cleanses skin really well
Disadvantages: None
...I came across Clinique Liquid facial soap quite unintentionally. I had popped down to my local department store as I had run out of my favourite foundation. When purchasing the sales assistant informed me that it was Clinique bonus time. (By buying two or more Clinique products I would be entitled to a free Clinique gift bag) Never one to pass on a special offer of the shopping variety I had a browse round the Clinique concession and found there was nothing I particularly wanted or needed. Being in a bit of a rush with the car park ticket ready to expire I grabbed at pretty much the fist thing I could find, This happened to be Clinique Liquid facial soap...

I'm a Clinique Convert
Advantages: Clean, fresh, clear skin
Disadvantages: None
...Having tried a few Clinique products and being left disappointed that they didn?t work as well as I?d expected, I?ve always avoided, despite many attempts by several friends to ?convert? me, trying the Clinique 3 Step System. I finally gave in however, when one of said friends bought me a 3 Step Gift Set for Christmas. She knows I have oily/spot prone skin, and so she got me the set for skin types 3 and 4, which is for normal to oily/oily skin. The 3 Step System, for anyone who doesn?t know consists of, you guessed it, 3 steps, as follows: Step 1: Cleanse (Facial Soap or Liquid Facial Soap), Step 2 : Tone (Clarifying Lotion), Step 3 : Moisturise (Moisturising Lotion or Gel). My step 1 is the Liquid Facial Soap Oily Skin Formula.
Clinique?s Liquid Facial Soap is priced at £13 for a 200ml bottle, or £15 for 3 50ml tubes which would be...

A Korres Miracle for Stressed Out Skin
Advantages: Price, value, effectiveness
Disadvantages: Packaging could be a little better thought out
...the hands and use the lather to wash, or rub the soap over wet skin.
In Practise
Each soap is a rectangular 6.5 by 4cm, and about 1.5cm in depth, so they are quite small and thus I personally would limit them to facial use, as they?d disappear far too quickly if they were used for the whole body as well.
Add a little water to the soap and it lathers up in no time at all. I prefer to lather it up in my hands and then use the lather to wash my face with, rather than applying the soap directly to my face as I personally feel this is more effective. The lather it gives is surprisingly thick and soft, and you get a lot of lather from just the smallest amount of soap and water. There?s no distinctive scent to this soap, it just smells like your average ?unscented? soap.
It feels really lovely and soft, and very gentle on the skin...
