...This was Simply Red's first (and only, so far) number one UK single. It was the first release from the album "Life" and it entered the charts in the summer of 1995 and I think it stayed at number one for 2 weeks. A lot of people who weren't usually fans paid their £1.99 for this song and remixes and I think the video with its great effects and bright colours helped. This single is a strong combination of dance, pop and soul and the exhuberant chorus is the icing on the cake. The song samples "Give It Up" by the Goodmen and the drum beats are made good use of. The song is very cheerful and the main theme is about how life is basically a fairground with fun and scary aspects and how friends can stick by you. You'd have chapped lips after the other 999,999!

...Rummaging through my cd collection the other day I stumbled across a disc I hadn't heard in ages. The cover was almost dusty enough to write my name in, but not quite. The disc in question was a little gem from the late 1980's, 'The First Of A Million Kisses' by Fairground Attraction. A few listens later, a bit of mousework on Ciao and here we go. WHO ARE THEY? Fair game for a fairground

Advantages: Each game takes a while to play.So it will take ages to complete the whole thing
Disadvantages: You can get fed up with the same rides all the time in the beginning,but they get better as you progress

..., this means that if you set the inspection time for every 30 mins.Then every 30 mins a mechanic will go to that ride and inspect it, and you all know what happens when fairground rides are not inspected.That's right they crash, as i have found out to my cost.I have already unwittingly killed at least 30 people, but i'm getting the hang of it now. This game is very addictive, great fun, and really great just to watch....

..., the reception staff provided us with a sheet of directions to local restaurants, and the manager took time to try and opoint out what he thought would be the most suitable for our needs. This is then where we found the first main problem with the hotel... It is sited close to the 'Fairgrounds' area of the city, where exhibitions and trade shows are held. As we visited at a time when it was in between fairs then there was little else close-by. It see,ms most visitors to the fairs either use the amenities at the fairgrounds, or eat at their hotel. We had to drive into Liverpool, about 4-5 miles, to find somewhere suitable and more importantly 'open'. Late at night and early the next morning the next problem with the hotel arose. It is adjacent to a distribution centre, and lorries coming and going, as well as leaving engines running in the centre...

The Dead Zone - Unscary

Advantages: Well written, good characters
Disadvantages: Not scary

...As King goes this isn't actually one of this best. The main plot point is that a young man is out with his sweetheart, has just dropped her off home after an unusual round of luck at the fairground and then gets in a car accident. After the car accident he goes into a coma for a few years, and we he wakes he can feel evil in people and things those evil people have touched. It's lacking largely because it simply wasn't scary. It had King's realism, the depth of his characters, their quirkiness and was definitely his writing, but it wasn't scary. The most scary point in the whole book was when the main character had his run of luck at the fair, that was it. 'The Dead Zone' refers to things the man can't remember after the accident, simple things, like being unable to visualise a park bench. Not a bad book, easy to read and engaging...

Save some money, play them on the Wii!

Advantages: Loads of little games, easy to pick up, a game for every one!
Disadvantages: characters look a little scary!

...I don't know about you, but I am a sucker for fairground games. I don't know what it is; I just get lured to them! I guess it's the chance to win a giant stuffed Mickey Mouse or 8ft cuddly snake (which I never manage to win!). When I saw carnival games on the shelf I have got to admit that I picked it up just as a fun little game to play with my younger relatives, as it didn't look too complicated and they were games we all knew. I was pleasantly surprised when I got it home and immediately got addicted. Like it says it has all the games you see at the carnival/fairground/theme park, ring toss, grabber, target bowling, test your strength, basketball hoops (to name a few). The games are addictively tricky just like those at the fairground only you won't be coughing up £2 to play each time! Its is a really fun game to play...

The Strongest Mouse at the Fair!

...Mr Strongmouse and the Baby is another little book which I bought for my boys. The cover of the book is red with a picture of Mr Strongmouse holding up a weight with other mice watching him. There is a baby mouse sitting on the title which is in black lettering on the top right hand corner of the book. The back cover is again red but this time there is a picture of Mr Strongmouse holding up a pig and also a short paragraph about the book. The book starts by telling us that once there was a mouse who was very strong, there are several pictures showing us how strong he is by him lifting up different things. Then the mouse started going to the gym and he got even stronger. Mr Big who owned the fairground saw how strong he was and asked him to become the fairgrounds Mr Strongmouse.
