Baked without looking faked
Review of Fake Bake Self Tanning Lotion by
lu31
Advantages: Lovely golden realistic tan and can use on face on body
Disadvantages: It would develop quicker.
...Fake Bake is a tanning lotion which you can apply to your face and body. This is an advantage because you can apply it to your whole body without worrying if your face is pale and your body is tanned!
Application:
My personal advice for best results would be to exfoiliate well (using a exfoiliating glove) on parts such as elbows, neck and upper arms anywhere with dry skin so the tan doesn't go bumpy or uneven. Then moisturize well and after 5-10 minutes apply fake bake.
It's also advised that you apply fake bake before you go to sleep and then when you wake me up you wash the excess tan off your body. Alike St, Tropez, Fake bake takes around 5-6 hours to develop.
How dark does it tan?
The colouring has never made me orange. The colouring is a lovely realistic deep golden brown tan. When I wanted a darker tan i would re apply fake...

Mousse Me Up.
Review of Fake Bake Self Tanning Mousse by
colleen_uk
Advantages: Streak Free, Easy To Apply, Dark Even Colour, Lasts Ages
Disadvantages: Pricey
...You may have seen from a previous review that I did on the Fake Bake Self Tanning Lotion that I am quite the Fake Bake fan. I have had plenty of experiences with other fake tans of turning all different shades of colour, of patches of fake tan being removed in the rain and of having hands ten times darker than my body, but in my opinion Fake Bake products do not leave you with any of these results.
I first tried Fake Bake because I wanted to try something a little bit more expensive than my previous fake tans since I had to admit the results hadn't exactly been desirable. I hadn't really heard a lot about Fake Bakes itself but when I tested a variety of the fake tans on offer in Harvey Nichols it seemed to be the one that suited me the best.
I first tried the Fake Bake Airbrush Tan which I think was around £25. The thing I love about...

Fake Bake Instant Self Tanning Spray
Review of Fake Bake Aerosol Airbrush Tan by
lilyellowfish
Advantages: Instant, natural colour, lasts a long time
Disadvantages: Sometimes the can can break
...NB - The product is actually called Fake Bake Instant Self Tanning Spray, so that is what I will refer to it as in this review.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Why I purchased the product
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I was first introduced to Fake Bake Instant Self Tanning Spray when I attended The Beauty Show at the NEC 2 years ago. This is a show for beauty therapists and only trusted brands and products are sold here, at retail price. When I walked past the Fake Bake stand, I saw someone getting a spray tan, I stayed and watched for a few minutes to see the outcome and when the girl stepped out the tent, she looked amazing. Her tan was even, streak free and natural looking, it was a really beautiful colour. After seeing this I went to the counter to speak to one of the representitives about what products I could purchase and they recommended...

Fake baked to perfection
Review of Fake Bake Self Tanning Lotion by
justmarried
Advantages: Natural looking colour
Disadvantages: Quite thick to apply
...I am naturally quite a pale person so fake tan usually sends me orangey and not the golden brown i wish for, that was until i discovered Fake Bake.
I applied it as per the instructions and despite the smell that always comes with fake tan i felt quite hopeful after hearing how all these celebrities rated it. Be warned it is quite thick and gloves are a good idea when applying.I tend to buy cheap gloves from the chemist and not the ones they sell with the product as they cost too much!
I allowed it to dry fully before putting on pyjamas and going to bed, probably about 20 minutes. The next morning i awoke and showered. What was left was a gorgeous streak free natural looking tan. Better than i have achieved with other self tanners and as im not the best at applying these things i was quite impressed that i had no streaks. The secret i...

Outstanding Results
Review of Fake Bake Self Tanning Lotion by
rose1986
Advantages: Streak free and natural looking
Disadvantages: Strong smell
...The BEST self tan product around!
I have used many self tan products in the market, but this is my personal favourite. I have used self tans made by many different brands. From cheap ones including: Solitan, Ambre Solaire to more expensive ones such as No7, St Tropez and Fake Bake.
Fake Bake is available widely in stores such as Boots and Superdrug, including many salons. It is also used widely in salons and by many stars including Sarah Harding from Girls Aloud.
SMELL
This self tan does have a strong smell. The smell however does not put me off as I always achieve my desired result.
PRICE
The price varies depending on where you buy the product and the bottle size. You can pick this product up from between £15.00 and £20.00 in most department stores . salons as mentioned above.
RESULT
Natural, golden / brown glow. The lotion...

Fake Bake - A Messy Nightmare
Review of Fake Bake Self Tanning Lotion by
Christine2120
Advantages: Good sized Bottle, Colour Guide
Disadvantages: Thick Texture, Hard to spread product evenly
...I would like to start by telling everyone that i personally have used at least every tanning product in my local chemist! Also this is my first ever review..so please go easy on me! :)
I First noticed fake bake a few months ago and decided to do an internet search on it, Of course being easily swayed by the mention of fake bake having a few celebrity fans who apparently swear by it, i decided to give it a go.
The bottle itself is brown in colour and is a lot less garish compared to some fake tan bottle /spray packaging i have seen, which i must admit gave me some confidence! It has a gold stencilled image of a woman on the front and the fake bake logo. For your money ( i paid £25.00 at my local salon) you will get 170ml of product i found this to be quite a generous amount.
I had high hopes for this product and once i had read...

**TANAHOLIC**
Review of Fake Bake Self Tanning Lotion by
NoelleAndel
Advantages: end effect is a lovely, deep colour
Disadvantages: hard to apply
...I am a self confessed tan addict and hate being milk bottle white - my natural colour :)
I have been using different fake tans for as long as I can remember, and decided to give fake bake a go after hearing good feedback from friends about it. ( I wouldn't usually spend so much on tan - its over £15 for 170ml bottle - but it was on offer in my local chemist!)
I had a mixed experience with it, both good and bad. One of the bad points was applying it. Like with all tans firstly I made sure to wear gloves. Putting it on I found the lotion to be very dark and with a gloopy, almost sticky texture. Once I had applied it I was a little nervous because the colour looked a b |
