...After using tonnes of high-street fake tans I was very apprehensive about trying Fake Bake but decided to give it a go. The first time I purchased Fake Bake was from www.lookfantastic.co.uk and was in a set which included Fake Bake original lotion, body scrub and body oil and I was left with not much change from £50.00!! I thought it must be something special at that sort of price. I followed the instructions that came with it and started off by using the body polish all-over in the shower. Fake Bake - The best fake tan out there!

...I've always been happy using my usual L'Oreal tan, but since coming onto Ciao I have become curious about Fake Bake, after reading a few positive and negative reviews I decided to buy it and see for myself. I was shocked to find it is sold for around £25 for a 170ml bottle. But I had a search on the internet and found it at cheapest for £15 from an online tanning shop which is doing an offer. Packaging The tan comes in a dark brown bottle with gold writing. The bottle is nice but not as exciting looking as I expected from an expensive brand. Advantages: gorgeous colour, easy to apply, lasts ages, even tanning

...I am one of those people who hates the fact that I live in a cold and gloomy place (Scotland) I love to be tanned but I have heard so many scary stories about using tanning beds that I avoid them at all costs! This means that my only options for getting a tan are to go on holiday (not so practical!) or to use fake tan. ...Fake Bake is a tanning lotion which you can apply to your face and body. This is an advantage because you can apply it to your whole body without worrying if your face is pale and your body is tanned! Application: My personal advice for best results would be to exfoiliate well (using a exfoiliating glove) on parts such as elbows, neck and upper arms anywhere with dry skin so the tan doesn't go bumpy or uneven. Then moisturize well and after 5-10 minutes apply fake bake. It's also advised that you apply fake bake before you go to sleep and then when you wake me up you wash the excess tan off your body. Fake baked to perfection

...I am naturally quite a pale person so fake tan usually sends me orangey and not the golden brown i wish for, that was until i discovered Fake Bake. I applied it as per the instructions and despite the smell that always comes with fake tan i felt quite hopeful after hearing how all these celebrities rated it. Be warned it is quite thick and gloves are a good idea when applying.I tend to buy cheap gloves from the chemist and not the ones they sell with the product as they cost too much! I allowed it to dry fully before putting on pyjamas and going to bed,probably about 20 minutes. The next morning i awoke and showered. What was left was a gorgeous streak free natural looking tan. Fake Bake Xtreme: One of the worst fake tans I have ever used!

Advantages: None I can think of.
Disadvantages: Too many.

...Being very fair skinned I have learnt to deal with this through extensive fake tanning and staying clear of sunbeds. I have tried many tans and although I am fair skinned I do tend to go for fake tans which are for darker skins as I am not a fan of the 'sunkissed' look.. I want full blown BRONZE! Obviously what attracted me to this product was that it states it is 'xtreme' tanning gel. This made me think that one application would be enough to turn me to the shade of bronze I usually only get from two applications of your average tanning gel. The process: Can be summed up in one word... messy. Using rubber gloves I found made it even more difficult to rub the gel in as it made it dry even quicker.
