British Army - sorts the men from the boys
Advantages: Good Experience
Disadvantages: Often Dangerous, Underpaid for half the work !
...The British Army provides a real way out for many people, it gives morales and standards to many young people, who otherwise wouldnt have a chance of survival in their home environment.
As an employer, it often neglects its duty of care, and the work environments can be exceptionally challenging, the day to day life often crosses the thin line of ridiculousness, and again, as an employer, the Ministry of Defence fails to protect its employees from several areas of harm that should not be found in the Army.
The Recruitment process usually starts in the Recruiting Station, where a potential recruit will make several visits to discuss their options.
After a few tests, they can choose a trade, in which the Army will train them to be proficient in their undertakings. As time continues the Soldier will gain valuable experience in his...

A career in the British Army
Advantages: Excellent travel, adventure training
Disadvantages: Miss family and friends
...A career in the British Army ?, One has to think what do you want out of life if you happy with a 9 - 5 job with the family and friends that you have grown up with, then I would not recommend it for you, If you are looking for that something else, that bit of adventure, the advantage of trying out new things in new countrys, top notch, adventure training in the kind of places that you have not ever dreamed of, then I would highly recommend it to you, but it do's not suit everybody people tend to know themselves if they have got it in them. As in life you have to take the rough with the smooth, you can end up in some very nasty places and situations, you can also end up in some fantastic places very rarely seen by other people. It has excellent holidays with 30 days paid leave and bank holidays on top of that. It's main factor is that...

The life and death of Qin Shihuangdi
Advantages: An amazing opportunity to view artefacts from the tomb of China's First Emperor.
Disadvantages: Limited amount of artefacts. The crowds!!!!
...The arrival of a small delegetion from the First Chinese Emperor's terracotta army to the British Museum in London generated great interest. Over the past six months, thousands of tourists have invaded the samll space of the museum's reading room to get a glimpse of elaborate warriors standing on guard.
The exhibition, simply entitled The First Emperor: China's Terracotta Army, has been in London since 13th September 2007 and runs until 6th April 2008. Over 100,000 pre-booked date / time tickets have already been sold for the exhibition and approximately 1,000 bought each day at the door.
Most if not all of the visitors to the exhibition have heard of and are eager to see something of the vast and magnificent terracotta army. Most though (including myself) were not fully aware of their history or that of the First Emperor, Qin...

That's Life
Advantages: A couple of big tunes
Disadvantages: Inconsistent
...The Psychedelic Funk/Rock/Soul band Sly & The Family Stone released ?Life? as their third album in 1968. It was their second album of the year, and so saw minimal musical progression from the band that to this day still get sampled in the Hip Hop world and covered by R&B musicians.
1. ?Dynamite!?
Getting the album underway you see that they get down to one which has them driving down something which was heard on their last album as you have one which appears to take on the style which was prominent in the Pop-based work coming out of Motown at this time. I wasn?t all that into it, but I can see the appeal in the uplifting song.
**Two Stars**
2. ?Chicken?
Here you have the topic of the music continue through into this ne as they perform on which concerns what kind of girls they see and how they tend to be reluctant to get into...

How to be a good wife of
Advantages: social life excellent,
Disadvantages: not good for children
...This is my opinion on being a "wife of" in the British Army, for those of you who don't know this is how the army refer to you officially. This was my only problem with the British Army they see families as excess baggage.
Now I know they don't really have time to worry about the families of service men when there are wars etc. going on but they could make a bit more effort to make us feel wanted after all they usually say happy wives men happy solidiers.
I spent eight years as an army wife, my husband got out after the Gulf war, during this time I did not have any problems as I am quite self sufficient and don't mind spending long periods of time on my own when hubby was of saving the country or someone else's country. However, I should note here that at these times there is the added worry of what if hubby doesn't return and it...

A difficult task
Advantages: Army provides skills and job security, housing, training, chance of travel ...
Disadvantages: ...but you might get killed in some place for the privilege.
...glean recruits from elsewhere. Some people may well be attracted by the promise of free college after their term of service, but for many the disadvantages far outweigh the advantages.
Also, Britain, like it's ally the good old USA, sticks it's nose into other people's business. Now fine, you might have would-be heroes who arewilling to die for their own country (and yet our patriotism seems to be waning on that front too) but they do not want to go someplace else (often where NOBODY really wants them to be anyway - not the locals, least of all) and die for something that is nothing to do with Britain or protecting THEIR family.
The world has changed, and most young people nowadays do not see any point in subjecting themselves to the abuse that forms a basic part of Army training, nor to the possibility of death for the sake of a pay...

Dip into Family Life
Advantages: Pleasant light read, gentle humour, thought-provoking
Disadvantages: Not much plot, a bit caricatured
...This is the story of the Robinson family, told by their fifty-something-year-old close friend Dip Reynolds. (Why she's known as 'Dip' is revealed in the course of the book). Dip is privileged to be almost part of the family, so much so that she sees them without their 'visitor' masks. She observes unwashed dishes and family squabbles, and sees both the advantages and disadvantages to family life.
The Robinsons are supposedly a typical family, although I find them just a tad caricatured. Mike, the father, is mostly placidly laid-back, although every so often he decides the family needs more organising, and embarks on a campaign of list-making and rota-producing, which lasts all of 24 hours before he lapses back into the usual chaos. His wife Kathy is much more volatile, with a face that displays every hint of emotion, usually...

Aldershot Army Show
Advantages: Children are free to enter, gives the public an insight into army life past and present
Disadvantages: Foul toilets, dusty sight, no shade.
...Aldershot Army Show:
On the 16th July, my family and I attended the Aldershot Army Show. This was the second time we had attended and as previously, had a fantastic day out. I would like to share with you some of our experiences and some photographs of the 2006 show.
****** HISTORY OF THE SHOW ******
Aldershot is a military area. In 1918 a horse show was staged here for the first time which saw both officers and civilians compete in certain events. This was known as "The Horse and Hound Show".
By 1930, the show was growing in popularity and it was renamed "The Aldershot Show". In 1961 the Army introduced a new variety of displays. However due to heavy usage of Rushmoor Arena in world war two, it was decided to use Queens Parade as its venue.
The event was known as the KAPE campaign, which means, Keep...

the features of army of two
Advantages: a very violent and enjoyable game with great coop gameplay
Disadvantages: it is shorter than expected
...Army of two is about two rangers, who after their first mission of watching a mercenary in action are offered a job as one. they decide to join and become mercenaries too.
This game is inventive in the way that you can customise your weapons and armour. This varies from the size of the barrel to pimping your gun to make it look cool (make it gold!). But each one of these add-on's affects your damage, range, magazine cap. and aggro.
This brings me too the most important feature of the game which makes it stand out from most other games. Aggro: this is where the focus of fire is concentrated more on one person. This means they have the "aggro". The reason aggro is important for this game is that your strategy in the game is based mainly around it.
For example, if one person takes the "aggro" then the other player can sneak round...

Stand By Your Beds
Advantages: Fantastic opportunities, meet new people, security.
Disadvantages: No family or girls.
...and REME) you will need to have GCSE's and be capable of passing an intermediate maths paper.
All in all, I would most definitely recommend the Army for a career. As long as you can demonstrate that you have the ability to be the best (and that means working hard) you will be fine. If you are fit and health, mentally stable and want to get something out of life, the British Army is for you. Personally I can't wait to join up in March!...
