Advantages: lovely food and good service from the waiters
Disadvantages: Everthing else about the place

...I have already done a review about Blackpool, and I absolutely love the place, we went to Blackpool two years ago on a family holiday, myself husband and three kids. We booked our holiday through The Belfast Telegraph travel agentsand we went through Ulster Bus tours, the price was £800 approx this included traveling expenses and the hotel.(Bed, breakfast and evening meal). The hotel was the Elgin and we were told that this was a great hotel for families. Choice Hotels in Blackpool

Advantages: Well appointed,clean, kids club,spacious,good food,friendly staff
Disadvantages: None

...has also has an excellent kid's club - my little girl (who's 6) is now on first name terms with the kid's club staff and they remember her (for good reasons I might add). The kids club offers a great range of activities from 10.00 am in the morning right through to 9.00pm at night and its free! The only drawback is that you have to stay in the hotel. The rooms are well appointed too - all have private facilities and some of the family rooms are large (they accomodate a double bed, single bed, cot and a pram with ease and still with room to spare). Situated on the quieter and more select North Promenade (none of the usual Blackpool trappings up here), you're only a 10 minute tram ride from the centre (stopping right outside the hotel) and parking is plentiful and free! ...My friends and I decided to have a weekend away because it was one of their birthdays. We booked for a two-night weekend break at the Norbreck Castle Hotel in Blackpool through National Coach Holidays on 19 November 2004. The brochure described the break as being ?All inclusive? and we looked forward to fact that we would be able to drink copious amounts of alcohol for free (and why not!). We paid £89.00 for two night?s dinner, bed and breakfast with drinks also included from 7.30pm ? 10.30pm in one of the three bars in the hotel. Claremont Hotel, Blackpool

Advantages: Lovely staff, great location, Facilities, Cost!
Disadvantages: Ummm...oh, parking.

...We have stayed in both the Claremont Hotel and their Motel apartments, both of which we had a great time. A group of us decided that we would take a trip down to Blackpool during the summer for a weekend stay from Friday - Sunday. We browsed through loads of hotels with one thing in mind - PRICE! For the 2 nights staying at the Motel it cost £75 each - but check the website to get an up to date tariff. The £75 was for the room only - we didn't want to pay for bed and breakfast, we just get breakfast if we fancy it, or are awake when it is being served! The hotel has a Motel in a separate building to the back of the hotel, which is laid out like a block of flats. ...had plenty we were wanting to do in Blackpool itself. We arrived well before booking in time, and if we had needed to would have been able to store our luggage at the hotel before being allowed to actually book in. We informed them that we had arrived and were able to book our meal time. There was also no problem with us leaving the car in the car park. When we went back to the hotel, we changed our meal time with no problem, when we booked in officially. The staff at the desk were very clear in their instructions of where to find the room and other facilities. The Room. Firstly you are given a key card as opposed to a standard key. Norbreck Castle Hotel - Armish Paradise

Advantages: It has 18 wheeler in the arcade!

...desk to the celing were noticably unclean. Everything which was supposed to be white was actually a wonderful tinge of yellow, as if people had chainsmoked in there since 1832. Which was probably the case. We wanderd off the centre of Blackpool on a tram (which was a considerable journey I can tell you!) and went to the fairground. We had to leave our luggage in a large, 1960s style room. We assumed someone would have locked it, but on our return we simply opened the door and picked up our bags. Nobody challenged us or anything, which was strange considering the room was full of people's stuff. Anyway, we were told that dinner would be served at 18:30. A Long Weekend in Blackpool @ the Grand Metropole

Advantages: Clean and generally friendly hotel, very reasonable prices
Disadvantages: Rooms need ventilation

...near as ?Grand? as the Metropole. rating for pricing: 9 out of 10 OVERALL Aside from the issues of there being no ventilation in the rooms and some rather noisy hen night groups staying in the hotel and being overly rowdy at all hours of day and night (which isn?t the hotel?s fault) we did enjoy our stay at the hotel. We would be happy to return there should we be visiting Blackpool again and I must add here that of the people we chatted with during our stay most of them had stayed at the hotel several times before ? there was a couple who had stayed there shortly after their marriage 35 years previously and 2 sisters who had been to the hotel 3 separate times during this year alone having stayed there for many years in the past.
