...Upon reading a review of FarCry in my monthly computer magazine, and looking at the screenshots shown and the high gold award given to it, I decided it might not be a bad idea to buy this game as I hadn't played a decent first-person-shooter in a long time. I don't regret buying it one bit, although I did pay the full £25 price when it first came out, not realising it was going to be on sale for as little as £5 In a few days time. The storyline to FarCry is a little over-the-top I feel. Advantages: Beautiful scenery, excellent physics, great action and gameplay, challenging AI
Disadvantages: Demands a lot of your PC, broadband required for best performance on multi-player

A far cry from boredom

Advantages: Lot's of missions and gameplay
Disadvantages: Takes ages to get around map

...games I've played I found the computer controlled characters very dumb making the game too easy. The graphics are amazing! But more on that below! ----------------------------------- What doesn't work? -------------------------------------------------- There is far too much travel in the game! The map being great is a must have but going from one side to the other by car take upwards of twenty minutes. It's very annoying having to kill guards on your travels when you simply want to go to a mission. Bus stops have been located around the map so you can travel corner to corner but I found many missions were not located near them. You also have to keep finding first aid. When you get shot you need to get aid and also pills. This takes up time and can get annoying when you just want to attempt a mission...

A Far Cry from the Original.

Advantages: Beautiful graphics and landscapes

...Far Cry 2. I bought this game for the Xbox 260 after having played the first installment of the game, Far Cry, on the PC and being very impressed. However, I feel this latest offering is somewhat of a disspointment. It cost me £29.99 from play.com in October 2008. The story of the game is you are out to kill "The Jackal" who is a serial arms dealer who you have had dealings with in the past. To get to him you must steadily build up contacts, unlock new parts of the map, and traverse across a literally endless landscape, which in itself is beautiful and partly makes up for the poor gameplay. The graphics in general with this game are extaordinary; the beautiful, lush, African landscapes seem to roll on forever, and change rapidly and blend into one another seemlessly. The Jackyl is a arms dealer who provides the 2 war-ing factions in Africa with all the weapons they need, and in turns is turning the country into a warzone. To find him, you must complete missions from both of the Factions until you are playing them off against each other and recieve intel on where the jackal is. I was a huge fan of the original Far Cry game on the PC, and also really liked Far Cry Instincts Predator on the Xbox 360. So when I heard this game was being released I couldn't wait to play it. Far Cry 2, Near to Tears . . . Bad game
