...When we were adopted by our handsome cat, Mew, we decided that he should have some toys to play with. It was with this in mind that we went to Pets at Home to see what was on offer there. We came back with a couple of little balls ? hubby said that they would be good as Mew hadn?t got any of his own! Actually even though they had bells inside them Mew wasn?t interested. We got a little sack of cat nip which Mew completely ignored! The real success was the Feather Chaser Wand (yes I know it sounds like some sort of sex toy but trust me on this one!). It is made by a firm called Willow?s and the full name of it is Willow's Feather Chaser Wand Catnip Toy for Cats and it cost just £2.99. It is supposedly infused with cat nip but as I said earlier this wouldn?t make a blind bit of difference to Mew as he doesn?t react to cat nip...

In the past I had always used feather pillows (bliss), but as my wife suffers from asthma, I have had to resort to using hollow fibre. After years of using hollow fibre pillows, which compress irretrievably after a few months, I was pleased to see someone selling a product which would ?bounce back? and keep it?s shape. Perfect! The manufacturers claim is that these pillows recover their shape and will not compress as inferior versions do. Mothercare's Cosysnooze - A Seat Belt Pillow For Kids

The solution presented itself on a trip to Mothercare where we happened across the ?Cosysnooze? seat belt pillow. It is a tubular white pillow about a foot long, which is covered by a separate soft velvet-like dark grey nylon cover trimmed in black. The pillow fits loosely inside the cover, and the two flaps, each edged along their whole length with black Velcro, allow you to attach the pillow securely in place over the seat belt. The child can then fall asleep on it without chafing and no danger of dislodging it. CARE The cover is easily removable for machine washing (the label recommends 40°C, but we find the more economical 30°C setting equally effective...

Cool Chillow Pillow

Advantages: Can be kept under your pillow and used as needed. Very effective.
Disadvantages: Slightly expensive. Can sometimes feel quite heavy.

...I first bought my Chillow Pillow about two years ago and have found it invaluable both for hot summer nights and menopausal night sweats. You just need to fill it with tepid water and it's ready to go. It can be used inside a pillow case but I prefer to have it ( and find it more effective) next to my skin. You can pop it in the fridge for a little while to make it really cold and I have done this once or twice but it's not usually necessary. I keep it under my normal pillow all year round and just bring it out and put it on top when necessary, which at the moment is most nights. It really does seem to draw the heat away from my face (as evidenced by how warm the Chillow is in the morning) and enables me to get a really good night's sleep. It does seem a bit expensive but for me it has been well worth it....

...I Bought my children three of these pillow pals they are great because not only is it a pillow it is also a teddy bear. My three year old son is really into whinnie the pooh so i went out and got him a pooh bear pillow pal as he wanted a big bear which was really big and bulky and would have been very difficult and uncomfortable to sleep with but the pillow pal is made like a pillow so it is nice and soft which means you get to sleep with the teddy in great comfort and as it is probably the only teddy that wont end up on the floor by the end of the night. ...I have to admitt - lm a Maeve Binchy fanatic - l have read all her books and Echos is my favourite, but lm not hear to tell you about that book, its her latest and apparently her last novel - Scarlet Feather. The 2 main characters Cathy Scarlett and Tom Feather - they attended catering college together and always had the pipe dream to run thier own catering business - suddenly it looks as though this dream may well indeed come true. The story is weaved around the lives of these two central characters and is an enchanting tale. As with all of Binchy's novels it is set in Ireland - this one is based in Dublin. She tells a tale and describes the area so well that its easy to close your eyes and picture exactly what she is describing. Any readers of her previous novel 'Love Rules' will know her writing technique does not always create fairytale, happy endings that are so predictable in today's fluffy love stories. However this helps to make the story so compelling and very real. In Pillow Talk we come across Petra, a jeweller in London by day, but a sleepwalker by night, and Arlo, a music teacher at an eccentric boys' boarding school in North Yorkshire, who like Petra has events in his past that makes it hard to sleep at night.
