Fiat Bravo 1.2 16v

Advantages: cheap to run, stylish
Disadvantages: underpowered

...It has a 1.2 16v engine so while it does lack power at times it is reasonably quick. I am not a slow driver and I cruise along the motorway every day at 80 mph with no trouble at all, and I have found that it will easily keep up with similar cars with 1.4-1.6 engines, again I am comparing this to an MR2 so for it to impress me shows how good this car is. I don't deny that a bit more power wouldn't go a miss but as for driving around normal roads within the speed limit you can't fault this car. With that said you will understand the great fuel economy of this car, it costs around £40 to fill the tank and I get on average around 450-500 miles, thats over 100 miles to £10. INSIDE My bravo had a fiat CD player and a 6 speaker sound system, which sounded great, untill the rollers in the head unit wear out and it would'nt give me my CVD...

Fiat - it's a Stilo (a steal! - geddit?)

Advantages: Economical to buy and drive, many added extras and gadgets
Disadvantages: Plenty to go wrong, a bit square to look at

...I bought my Fiat Stilo 16v 1.6 Dynamic in May 2006 for £5800 from a private dealer, using the Autotrader website (www.autotrader.co.uk) It was just two years old and billed as 'under 3 year warranty' It is a nice looking car, although quite sensible looking with nice paintwork and alloys. The interior is impressive, with a cloth interior, comfortable seating and the most interesting thing is that the back seats are adjustable to allow either very generous legroom in the back or a very large boot. ...!! Its comfortable and roomy but after 40K on the clock the bills have mounted dramatically. So if you are thinking of buying a used one, no longer made by fiat, think long and hard of the long term costs!!...

Fiat Multipla 1.9 ELX I am a convert

Advantages: Space, economy, comfort
Disadvantages: Ugly, Too much interior cloth

...The Fiat Multipla has to be one of the ugliest cars on the road well, from the front at least. However, once inside you will not believe the amount of room there is and how easy it is to drive. My Fiat I have the 1.9 Diesel ELX which is a very nippy and economical tool. I is a 2001 Y reg which I bought 2 years ago. It is so nippy that we call him Rocket. I travel 55 miles each day to work (round trip) for 5 days in a week and with the current fuel price of £1.17 per litre it only costs me £30 all week. Inside the Fiat you have 6 adult sized seats. The 3 in the back are multi position and they are easily removed to make what is essentially a van. If you just need to remove one seat that is possible too. The load space is quite high too so when I collected my fridge, washmachine and TV there was no problem fitting them...

fiat bravo HLX 1.8 16v

Advantages: Good looks,lots of space,fast & fun to drive
Disadvantages: poor dealer network

...feels faster. Fuel consumption is claimed to be 34mpg but it`s always less at around 30mpg. The standard alarm and immobiliser gives the HLX group 8 insurance, a very low rating for a 1.8 16v. Now that it has been replaced by the fiat stillo second hand prices are at bargin levels with 1996 N reg cars at around £2500 rising to around £7000 for a 2001 Y reg. Fiat dealers can be unhelpfull if problems arise so find a good garage and all should be plane sailing. As a cheap second hand buy i cant give it enough praise there simply is`nt a car that can match it for value for money....

Advantages: Great handling, nippy, good fuel consumption, good features
Disadvantages: Slightly smaller boot than competitors, rear seats don't fold flat

Review of Ford Fiesta 1.4i 16v

Fiat Punto Sporting - not bad actually

Advantages: Nippy and great fun
Disadvantages: no footrest

...I bought my Punto Sporting in December 2000 and am still driving around with a huge grin on my face. Even though it's only a 1.2, the 16v means that it goes like whatsit off a shovel. It's nippy and as my previous car was a 1.8 HLX Bravo, I was worried about loss of performance. Silly me. To top it off I'm also getting roughly 46 mpg - wey hey. The interior is well laid out, although I am still getting used to having the window control buttons in the middle of the console and would highly recommend getting the 5-stack CD changer if you can. It's at the bottom of the console so you lose cup holders but as the stereo has a 100w sub-woofer in the boot, I don't suppose you'd mind too much. The seats can be snug but hold you well and give good support. The only little gripe I have is that I miss the footrest I had in the Bravo, useful...

...I was out looking for a new car last year and eventually bought an MX-5, but during my investigation I test drove a 3 Door Stilo 1.6 Active. When 6 months later my boyfriend decided to purchase a new car he went for a special offer pre-reg'd Stilo 1.2 Active (3 door/dark rose coloured). Now the 3 door version looks much nicer from the side and back than the 5 door and there the complements end. equipment the 1.2 active comes with electric front windows and mirrors, a radio cassette player, trip computer, front foglights, 15" alloy wheels, abs, ebd, esp, remote central locking. the are various options available including cs playet, parking sensors and automatic wipers, height adjustable passengers seat, satellite navigation etc. it is well equipped for the price of £9,750. exterior the 3 door version looks great...
