Fiat Marea 1.6 weekend automatic
Advantages: Roomy, good loading space, nice to drive
Disadvantages: VERY expensive on parts and insurance :-(
...Earlier this year I bought a 1997 R reg Fiat Marea 1.6 elx auto estate, with 70,000 on the clock.
Prior to this I owned a Jaguar XJ6 and was shocked when the insurance company wanted MORE to insure this !!!!
The Fiat, however, is very nice to drive with lots of creature comforts, although Fiat did not put a cd player in the car which I think is a bit of a shame.
Although the car is only 6 years old there is already some signs of rust - on the roof and wheel arches which is a bit of a let down.
The car recently failed to start and being automatic I was unable to bump start it. The starter motor was knackered and Fiat wanted around £170 for a new one (at first I thought the price must have been in Lira !!!!), but I managed to get a reconditioned one for about £100. Be warned Fiat parts are notoriously pricey :-(
If you are...

My experiences with the Marea Weekend
Advantages: Practical, Comfortable, Good Equipment spec
Disadvantages: Expensive to maintain, Fast Depreciation, Suspect build quality
...This car was purchased by my partner before I met her. It is a 1998 R-registered Marea Weekend 1.8 16v ELX model.
Specification wise, it is excellently equipped, to say that this is a low-range model. It has climate control air conditioning, electric front windows, power steering, central locking, rev clock etc.
To drive, it is OK. The biggest gripes I have with it are:
- It is very underpowered - a 1.8i 16v enine should perform a lot better
- It does not handle too well round corners, but then it's hardly a rally-car!
- It has no ABS, and locks up far too easily in the wet.-
- Engine noise in the cabin is harsh
Living with the car on a day to day basis is fairly easy. It is average on fuel economy (approx 30mpg), seats four in comfort, and has a huge boot, with the added advantage of a lowing rear bumper, and stowage...

Fiat marea at Dominican Republic
Advantages: Extremely comfortable car and easy to drive.
Disadvantages: Fiat needs to have more publicity and servicein this country from Fiat company
...Hi guys, I'm a dominican Fiat Marea user, in this country this car is not very common so people feel worried about the spare and maintenance because it uses to be very expensive based on the brand and something like that. but I really don't mind what people say, for example when I planned to get a car I decided to have an economic, comfortable, modern and less than 5 years of usage.
This car is great, excellent really easy to drive, this is my first car and I'm realy proud for the comments I received from my friends and parents and maintenance has been the same than a Toyota even cost. So if you have the oportunity get it buy and you won't regret "Fiat Marea 2004.
The most people in this tropical country prefer to have traditional vehicles like HONDA etc, but I know that this is a good car in the first week I got it, I heard...

A Fiat???
Advantages: The Car
Disadvantages: It's not a rolls royce
...Everybody chuckles when I say I drive a Fiat estate, but before that puts you off I am 18, how many 18 year olds do you see driving family estates???
Unfortunately the car isn't mine, but I am priviledged to drive it having driven a 12 year old Fiat Tipo before hand (legendary cars of which I thought there could be NO better). An incredibly good statement for the marea weekend is that my parents own TWO, thats how much they like them.....and to be honest now I do to.........
Our first they bought last year for less than 10 grand and it had done 250 miles.....no CD player though....it has air con, which was probably the single life saver when travelling to France last year on the old "booze run" and an incredible boot space....(the car although an estate doesn't look big but it is inside, like a limosine is exagerating but...

Here's everything upon ours
Advantages: 2nd hand value, comfy, reliable, roomy, well equipped
Disadvantages: Trim, nervous ride at motorway speeds, not great for talll people
...W bought our Y reg (March 2001) Marea 7 months and 10,000 miles ago as a replacement for my hubby's ageing but very economical (60 mpg) Peugeot 309 diesel. His main reason for buying this particular car was the excellent value for money they represent as a used buy. We paid £6900 for an 18 month old example with 15,000 miles on the clock and a FSH from Reg Vardy Fiat in Darlington. This included 6 months tax (£60), new mats and 18 months (or 36,000 miles) of manufacturers' warranty.
What?s gone wrong ? Well nothing so far, He commutes about 400 to 500 miles a week and so far it hasn?t let me down in any way. He have purchased a 2 year (24,000 mile) servicing package (2 x 12,000 mile services) from Arnold Clark Fiat in Dundee for £ 265.00 which is a much better deal than the £236.00 per 12.000 mile service, offered by Reg Vardy...

Good choice for the price
Advantages: Comfortable interior, responsive motor, good road handling
Disadvantages: Pricey services
...I have now had my Marea 1.6 for about 16 months, and am still very impressed with the overall performance.
It was bought second hand for £7995, when the current price for the new model was in the region of £12000, so I thought the price was good.
The interior of the car is very comfortable, and more than spacious enought for the average family size - with my 2 little monsters and almost half the toys they own in the back, we can still have a comfortable ride.
I found the cubbyhole to be smaller than I would like, with only enought space for the logbook and not much more. Definitely room for improvement there.
The leg room in front and back is good - with all the adults in my family being around the 6foot mark, I should know!!
The boot space is sufficient for the normal grocery loads, and/or baggage for short holidays, but not...

Big and bulky
Advantages: Huge capacity
Disadvantages: Doesn't handle very well.
...I borrowed one of these recently to take my family to the airport (three adults, two tiny children and all the luggage that goes with that lot for 2 weeks!).
The Weekend is the estate version of the Marea and it does offer a huge amount of boot space. We managed to fit 3 suitcases, 2 overnight bags, 2 nappy bags and 2 push chairs into the boot of mine. OK so it wasn't easy and fitting it all in felt like some kind of test from the Krypton Factor, but we did get it all in.
There is plenty of seat room in the Marea and plenty of leg room too. It is a large car, on the inside and on the outside with a fairly long nose and high, chunky boot.
The interior trim is quite a good spec. for a middle of its range car. It has plush seating with a split rear seat and rear arm rest. All seats have head rests and there are three diagonal...

Sporty styling, great engine and bags of room!
Advantages: Decent performance, reasonable load capacity and sporty looks.
Disadvantages: Poor fuel consumption & the rear seats are rather cramped
...As the title states why not stand out from the crowd and swap the predictable Volvo/Vauxhall/Ford estate for an Italian workhorse. I must admit that when I was in the market for a 2nd hand estate car, Fiat wasn't the first manufacturer that sprang to mind. However thanks to a simple eBay search (any estate within 100 miles under £2000) I unearthed a much overlooked car that I had never even heard of. The low price tag of £1100 for a T (99) registered car with 79,000 miles seemed like a bargain so after a quick test drive I brought the car and was soon cruising back up the M6 in my latest acquisition, first impressions were good. Eight months down the road here are my conclusions.
O.K first the good points:
I'll start with the engine which is an absolute peach, using the 20 valve 5-cylinder engine found in the Fiat coupe the car...

Excellent 2nd Hand Choice
Advantages: Cheap, Roomy, Resposive, Nippy
Disadvantages: Engine can be noisy at low reves, insurance
...The Fiat Marera Weekend 1.6 sx is the larger estate version of the Brava. Fiat are not known in the UK for their larger cars whcih is quite surprising as this is an excellent 2nd hand buy.
I picked up my 8 month Marea Weekend for &7499 with 12,000 miles on the clock. The inside is roomy and the seats comfortable. The ride is smooth and the handling excellent due to the 14 x 185 size tyres.
The dials on the dashboard are easy to read (especially the digital mileometer) and not covered by the steering wheel. The stereo is excellent and has a facility to add a CD changer. There is lots of room in both the front and rear and the car can carry a high volume load when the rear seats are down. Even though an estate the car is very good looking on the outside as well as in. There are no annoying rattles
The engine is responsive and is...

Its The Weekend...!
Advantages: Cute bottle, girlie fragrance
Disadvantages: Could last a bit longer and fairly expensive too
...My friend bought me Burberry Weekend for my birthday about 2 years ago and I have been hooked on it ever since!
Packaging
I would describe the packaging for Burberry Weekend are being quite summary. The bottle comes in a pale yellow box which is decorated with the Burberry hatching. Across the front of the box Burberry Weekend in white italic writing.
The bottle itself has a circular top, but obviously has a flat bottom. The bottle looks quite chunky and rounded. The glass is frosted white but only slightly so you can still see how much fragrance you have left. The lid to the bottle is silver and has the Burberry logo printed on the very top of it. The famous Burberry hatching runs around the outside of the bottle in white and Burberry Weekend is also written in white italic writing across the bottle.
