Fiat Panda 1.2 Eleganza

Advantages: Very small & manouverable, specious, superb visability, cheap to run
Disadvantages: Small boot

...driving standards are abysmal, roads dangerous and the average car a mobile wreck (Polish translation "grat" - a banger!). She knows many quite young people now in the graveyard, the result of horrific road accidents. In the south east of Poland, a relatively poor area - one of the poorest in the enlarged EEC, the staple motorised transport is the Polski Fiat 126. My wife, as do many Poles, associates small cars with danger and death on the road, the more metal around her, the more she feels protected and safe. Poles also have something of a tradition for regarding their own home produced products as somehow inferior to imported goods, the Fiat panda of course is manufactured in a large modern Fiat plant on the outskirts of Warsaw, Poland's capital city! We were offered a choice of two Pandas' to try, a base 1.2 and a top of the range...

fiat panda eleganza

Advantages: personality,reliabilty,quality,space,interior,fun factor
Disadvantages: 1.2 engine not in £35.00 tax bracket, poor seat material

...there too. storage is good and there are three cupholders(one rear and two front) ours is a 1.2 petrol engine which has a typical italian rortiness about it if not a lot of go(60hp).its a smooth engine though and will sit quite happily at 80 mph on a motorway in relative quiet. in fact thats one of the great things about this little car...it feels like a bigger one to own and drive and can suit a small family needs for most of the time.we find we rarely have to resort to using our bigger 4 wd car,the panda is more than capable of carrying out our daily tasks. if we could ask for anything else it would be for better seat fabrics on this model as the attract dirt and dust.the 100hp's look a lot better quality. one other issue tho is car tax in the uk.the fiat pandas 1.2 engine is in a tax band above the new 500's seemingly identical...

Fiat Punto Active Sport 1.2i 8v

Advantages: Great Looks, Low Tax, Cheap Insurance
Disadvantages: Ride Hieght, Slight Roll On Cornering

...Having recently handed my little Saxo over to my little sister for her lessons and run around. Its time to look for a new car, So I came accross a really nice "Fiat Punto Active Sport 1.2i 8v". Read below to find my opinion of this car so far....... Performance~ This car is awesome on petrol, Obviously depending on the way its driven its averagin about 48ish MPG. ALthough not as responsive as the saxo was and requires higher revs in lower gears to do this, Another slight downside is the ride height and suspension set up as the car feels very high, and also as if it is going to roll when taking corners at speed. Exterior~ The Active Sport variant of the Punto is in one word "sexy", Its got curves, and straight lines in all the right place. Again a slight draw back is the gap between the top of the wheels and the botton...

Fiat Punto 1.2 3DR

Advantages: Nippy, cheap to run, ideal first car!
Disadvantages: Body can dent easily

...The model i am describing is shown in the title. I have a X reg 2000 manufactured model. It is light blue and does not have colour coded bumpers, unlike the 2002+ models. I started with a mk1 punto when i began driving over a year ago, the mk1 has its problems which i will not go into now as it is not what i am reviewing. However when i upgraded to the mk2 i was much more inpressed. When i first entered the mk2 it felt alot more roomier and the interior design in my opinion is alot more stylish and modern, which is what i expected. The interiour colour scheme is similar to the colour on the exterior. For example my punto is light blue on the exterior and thus dark blue interior. When i started the engine i didnt think it had actually started, it had but it was so quiet compared to the mk1 i didnt realise the engine was running...

Fiat Punto 1.2, to buy or not to buy!?

Advantages: Cheap to run, looks, practicality.
Disadvantages: performance not fantastic

...Many of us know that the Italians have produced many wonderful cars, often decribed in term of their sole and passion. However, does this statement remain true with the Fiat Punto, I believe it does. Being one of the most unoffensive vehicles on the road, it is a car which simply blends in to all surroundings, and will often go unoticed (unless bright yellow and pimped!). This in my opinion is a good thing, as it allows you to get by from day to day without having complete strangers stare at you; this also prevents embarassment on the odd occasion when you have to pick your nose for example! Looks: you gotta love the design of this car, its funky, smart, and just looks a nice piece of work. Inside is rather basic, but everything that is needed is there, so I give it a thumbs up. Performance: With this car, you're not gonna be...

Great first car, FIAT shoots and scores!

Advantages: Cheap, sturdy, good value, cute, good interior
Disadvantages: Appearance not to everyone's taste

...After almost 7 months of consideration, ordering car brochures and reading endless reviews of superminis, I finally decided on a shortlist of either a Citroen C3, a Smart ForFour or a Fiat Panda for my first car! After passing my test and testdriving the Panda, I fell instantly in love with it! I bought a Dynamic 1.2 litre eng with Steel Grey paint and bright blue bubbly interior. Although some readers may feel a 17 year old first time car buyer is not the best informed person to be reviewing a car, I feel that I am very well informed, as I saved every penny for this car myself and thus carried out endless research in order to make a good decision! I have previous experience driving a Mazda and a Mini One whilst learning to drive, and I must say that the Panda feels much much lighter on the road, and responds more readily to both...

Fiat Bravo 1.2 16v

Advantages: cheap to run, stylish
Disadvantages: underpowered

...It has a 1.2 16v engine so while it does lack power at times it is reasonably quick. I am not a slow driver and I cruise along the motorway every day at 80 mph with no trouble at all, and I have found that it will easily keep up with similar cars with 1.4-1.6 engines, again I am comparing this to an MR2 so for it to impress me shows how good this car is. I don't deny that a bit more power wouldn't go a miss but as for driving around normal roads within the speed limit you can't fault this car. With that said you will understand the great fuel economy of this car, it costs around £40 to fill the tank and I get on average around 450-500 miles, thats over 100 miles to £10. INSIDE My bravo had a fiat CD player and a 6 speaker sound system, which sounded great, untill the rollers in the head unit wear out and it would'nt give me my CVD...

Pleasantly surprising Fiat Panda

Advantages: Cheap, reliable, easy to drive
Disadvantages: image

...I must admit I wasn't exactly overwhelmed with excitement as my Mum came to collect me from university in her new Fiat Panda. Looking in my opinion a like a car cut in half, i was immediately thinking that as we shared a car at the time I was going to look a little silly driving this vehicle. Now, 3 years later, and having driven the panda on regular occasions, i still feel the same, it does look a little odd, is unusually high with a strangely placed gearstick, but it is undoubtably a nice car to drive. Now I am 22, try to keep up with fashion, enjoy sports, and would not ideally drive such a small car, but I have learnt to look past the exterior and appreciate the smooth running, the reliability and general high quality of the Fiat. My friends have ironically (and affectionately) labelled it the 'Beast', and where this may not be...

The Fiat Punto - An ideal First car!

Advantages: Cheap to run and Fun to Drive, Excellent Value for Money
Disadvantages: Safety, Style

...I began driving this time last year and my first car was and still is a Fiat Punto 1.2 S, T-reg 1999, 3 doors. For a student such as myself, I would say that it is an ideal first car to have and I have thoroughly enjoyed driving it. It is not lightning quick and insurance is cheap! Obviously because of the age of my car, it is not going to set the world on fire, but I have been very pleased with it so far. I paid £750 for it from an auction and two years previously it had been bought for £4,200! Luckily for me, it has so far been very reliable and I hope that it will last me until next year when I will sell it before I go to University. Ride Quality Obviously, the car's ride quality is not awesome compared to most modern cars around today. But if you can't afford to spend loads on a set of wheels, the Punto offers a very good...

Fiat Punto 52 plate 1.2 Dynamic (5 door)

Advantages: A small, low cost, but zippy car which is also reliable and easy to fix
Disadvantages: A difficult car to drive

...I recently purchased a Fiat Punto 1.2 Dynamic (5 door) straight from the dealers (Rockingham Motors, Northants). The Fiat website was exceedingly useful and allowed me to email the dealers to arrange a test drive. In short the car was excellent: at a cost of £3300 for a 52 plate with only 42,000 miles on the clock and 6 months warranty. The car's benefits by far out weigh the negatives which I have seen and been told by friends (i.e. not reliable, cheap nasty car, not spacious). The drive itself is comfortable, but I have been informed by passengers that in the back it is not so good. It is excellent for short journey's for both comfort and fuel efficiency (even though I had some issues opening the petrol cap). Longer journey's it guzzles petrol but I expected that with such a small engine. For me, I needed a reliable car...
