ford fiesta flight 1.3
Advantages: everything
Disadvantages: rear seatings a bit cramped
...I passed my test last June and that's when I purchased my car - a silver ford fiesta flight 1.3.
After wanting the newer ford models and planning to save up and buy a different car for about 6 weeks i suddenly changed my mind after realising I actually loved the car I had and would be ever so sad to see it go.
Its a brilliant first time car, the seats are comfortable, the clutch isnt heavy, the steering is light, it looks gorgeous inside when it is lit up at night. These cars are not too expensive neither, and dare I say quite reliable, my car hasnt broken down on me yet! (*touches wooden table*) Parts are relatively cheap as well as cost of transport. It will cost about 30 -35 quid (depending on the petrol prices) to fill up my car and it will last for about 2 weeks and thats with around an hours worth of driving everyday.
I...

The Post-March 1994 Mark III 1.3i Fiesta
Advantages: Economical, lively and reliable
Disadvantages: Not the most individual car out there
...This date in Fiesta build history provides marked improvements over earlier models. Having moved from a 1.1LX MkIII H Reg Fiesta to a newer, albeit still getting on a bit L Reg 1.3i Fiesta I cannot believe the improvements in the drive of the car when they are supposed to be of equal calibre, and also the way that the drive compares with newer cars in its class. Instantly the Fiesta is given a bit of life using the 1.3 engine, yet any Mark III Fiesta build post comes with numerous other features that make it a much better buy for anyone looking out for a good small second hand car. Catalytic convertors come as standard, as does drivers air bags (passenger/power steer sometimes installed as option). There are numerous small touches to the interior and exterior such as colour coded covered petrol covers and nicer shaped mirrors...

Ford Fiesta 1.3 Encore
Advantages: Excellent as a city 'runabout' , good general driving experience, reliable
Disadvantages: few - No glamour associated with fiestas
...In my opinion the ford fiesta is the best car of its kind and this model is no exception. Being a driver of one for almost two years I have come to appreciate its reliability and efficiency. The best thing is it being Ford, as spare parts (not that i've needed any) are easy to come by. Even though my car is 8 years old, it sailed through its last MOT and the mechanic described it as "remarkable condition". The car is great for both driving around in busy areas and motorway cruising. In both situations it is efficient although not that comfortable. The standard seats make long journeys quite painful and although good general fuel efficiency higher motorway speeds result in high fuel consumption due to poor higher gear ratios. Another perk is performance related add ons are easy to come by such as alloys (which I incidentally purchased...

Feeble? Frail? Flimsy? Not my Fiesta!
Advantages: Cheap Tax, Plenty of MPG, Reliable
Disadvantages: Basic, Ride can be uncomfortable if you drive like me!
...Feeble it isn't, but my 5-door Ford Fiesta Encore Mk4 1.3l is no sports car.
I am unable to afford a car of my own and accordingly share this with my father. I simpy pay my insurance, half the cost of maintenance and (the very expensive) petrol I use. Unusually, I've experienced this car in different ways to most people because it puts up with two people constantly using it, and now my younger brother has just begun to learn to drive, it's burdened with three.
Now almost 10 years old, the car is in remarkably good condition having travelled just over 90,000 miles, 76,000 of them done in the last 6 years. (The car was purchased second hand from an old boy cruising gently to church every Sunday, he did barely 14,000 miles in 3 years!) The car has so far needed no major work, and has enjoyed regular servicing. It only very recently...

Ford Fiesta Fun 1.29 - 2001 (UP-DATED)
Advantages: Cost efficient to run and very reliable
Disadvantages: Can take a while to build up speed, especially when carrying weight
...** UP-DATED REVIEW **
My first car, which I still cherish, but I am now starting to think about bigger and better things .. only think mind you, this will keep me going for a good number of years yet, if I am not in a position to upgrade.
The car is now 5 years old, and I am in my fourth year of ownership, having bought it for £3,900, from an original retail price of circa £6,500 a year earlier - amazing how quickly cars depreciate in value ... I would never buy brand new for that simple reason. 2 year warranty also remained on the car, but I think I am right in thinking most decent manufacturers provide a 3 year warranty these days.
If you want a reliable, solid, nippy, and efficient car then you can't really go wrong with a Ford Fiesta, in whatever model you are considering. Obviously price will vary by a few grand...

Ford Fiesta
Advantages: cheap and fun car.
Disadvantages: Not much space on the back seats but its a fiesta not a limo.
...The Ford Fiesta 1.25 is a great car, ford first brought the 1.25 zetec fiesta out in 1996 on the mk4 fiesta, and from that day they put zetec engines in all the fiesta they brought out. The fiesta is still one of the best reliability and cheap car today.
The 1.25 engine is a nippy car and is great for young students who what to drive and buy their first car, but also older people who would like a cheap car.
i've got a fiesta 1.25 zetec and never had no problems with it so far.
In my opinion the Ford fiesta zetec-s 1.6 engine is the best car and would love to have one soon as i saved lots of money up.
The space in the fiesta could be limited for some people but for me there is plenty of room being on my own.
with a fiesta you have to get power streering because its so much easyer than not having it. makes life so much...

The Xcellent XR2i MK 3 Fiesta
Advantages: Solid economical car with great potential
Disadvantages: abused ones can rust very badily.
...I bought my XR2i in 1996 for £3500. I was young and mad on modifying cars. What you will read will truly blow you away.
My car was a standard 1990 'G' plate, in flame red. The paintwork was tired with no evident damage, all bodywork was fine with no loose fittings. It had the standard check dot grey trim. It did not have the luxury of the recaro seats as in the RST. I drove it around for a couple of months and it was fairly good. Strong on the motorways and practical around town, although it lacked punch. I put it on the rolling road and it was only making 70bhp, down 30 from the 105 standard. This sunny saturday afternoon in 1996 was the catalyst to nearly 4 years of dedication.
The beauty of the Mk3 fiesta is it is popular and there are thousands around. All car and motor factor companies reproduce aftermarket car...

Fiesta Small Fun and friendly
Advantages: economical, low tax, low insurance, small, fun, friendly
Disadvantages: outdated
...The fiesta......many people hold the view that the make of the car does a whole lot more for their image and happiness!....well, let me tell you this.............
Two groups of people go to the cinema, one in a fiesta, the other in a BMW 3 series. Who has the most enjoyable night? How they enjoy themselves depends on the film - a car is just something to get you from A to B - you can go to the same places as the BMW - you can drive on the same roads - its cheaper insurance than the BMW and more economical on fuel. Its pretty quick once it gets going too!! And the fiesta has the added advantage of squeezing into those tight car parking spaces!
I had my fiesta finesse 1.3 in 2000 (W Reg) brand new! I had 2 years free insurance - this was the main reason why I bought it as being 18 my insurance quotes were over 2K per year. If you...

one lone fiesta
Advantages: cheap to run
Disadvantages: as sexy as a nun
...I've had a 1995 'm' plate fiesta for the last three years and on the whole I've been happy with it .I paid £3000 for it from a friend which I think was a good deal at the time. The car is quite economic to run and I get 350 to 400 miles on a full tank which costs about £30 depending on the chancellor.
I normally use the car on my own and find it reasonably nippy and quick away from the lights.A 1.1 litre engine however means that any large loads, including a full tank of petrol, affect the performance.Indeed with two passengers and shopping you'd be quicker on a zimmer frame!.
I travel about 100 miles two to three times a week and the only problems I've had related to my own neglect of maintenance duties,I mean "top up the oil" how could I have guessed that!.With the price of new and therefore used cars coming down cars like this...

Buying a Zetec Fiesta.
Advantages: Great little cars
Disadvantages: Expensive if they go wrong. Buy a good one
...it today and I sold it 3 years ago.
Comfort was very good inside. The dash had a lovely dark layout with only a wobbly rev counter to worry about. Fuel economy was not good as you would not get a lot more than 250 miles out of a tankful.
Today, our new fiesta is .55 of a litre smaller than that monster and you can tell. It can handle its powerplant beautifully and transfers the power to the tarmac with ease.
No Wheelspin. No sliding.
Its comfortable, if a little slow. Then again, it is a 1.25 engine.
If you are going to buy a fiesta, buy a Zetec.
Why?
Because the other engines may be cheaper, but they are coming from nearly a 20 year old design.
The old 997cc and 1.1 litre engine will struggle to pull the new cars along. Fine for granny out doing her shopping.
The Over head Valve engines (OHV) that they are powered...
