Lets Fifa 10

Advantages: An almost perfect football simulation
Disadvantages: Some would say its Fifa 09 all over again

...Introduction I wasn't intending on getting Fifa 10 until Christmas but when I saw it advertised for under £25 on the day of release, I had to rush out and buy it as I knew it would never be as cheap as this again until well after Christmas. I had played the demo a few weeks before the actual release, and while the game was good, it didn't look that much different from Fifa 09 which I had only owned for 6 months. With this scepticism, I loaded the game up and began wondering if I had just paid £25 for the same game. First Impressions After sitting through the introduction of Wayne Rooney evading a slide tackle from Frank Lampard, you get to the main menu. Now call my cynical but it appears that Electronic Arts may also think that consumers will have trouble identifying the new features of this game as they have...

FIFA 10

Advantages: Hours of Play, Smooth Gameplay, Variety
Disadvantages: Commentary, Glitches (See review)

...As a fan of the FIFA series since the 07 edition I was looking forward to this games release well in advance, pre-ordering months before it was hitting the shelves. I generally start of disliking the new game in the series, not liking most of the changes and generally being in a strop about how they've made everything worse - this year was no different. It's mainly because I get beat all the time when I first start playing. Onto the game itself : ~~~Gameplay~~~ The big change this year is the addition of '360 dribbling'. This is different because instead of only being able to move in 8 different directions in previous titles (45 degree increments), you are now able to move much more freely in just about any direction you want. To take advantage of this though, you can't be sprinting, which at first really annoyed me, thank...

The Best FIFA game of them yet

Advantages: Advanced version of 09' which was still awesome.
Disadvantages: Hard to play the game and adapt to the changes from FIFA 09. Passing, Dribbling etc...

...FIFA 10 is an even more advanced version of FIFA 09, believe it or not. I can stay up for hours playing this game and the only thing that would stop me from playing would the need for sleep. I thought FIFA 09 was deadset the best FIFA game I had ever played. But this version has exceeded my expectations ten-fold. Not a whole lot has changed tournament wise, online wise or area wise however The new manager mode and the new BAP (Be a Pro) mode where you can put your own face on the player which you have created is an effect I never thought I would ever see happen in the gaming industry. EA have done it all with this game and it is a MUST play. In this game it seems like you have to fight for the ball more than you would in any other game. If the player who is marking up against you is a STRONG opponent he will win the ball 80...

The Fifa v PES battle continues (FIFA 09 Xbox)

Advantages: Very realistic. Great online play
Disadvantages: Referees too strict, getting kicked from 10 v 10 online games.

...Background I remember when the first version of Fifa International Soccer (as it was called then) appeared on consoles in the early to mid 90?s. Its 45 degree angle pitch and amazing graphics blew everything away in its path. Every year from here on in, Electronic Arts sports division, EA Sports have taken the previous years offering and tweaked it slightly. Early on there wasn?t much real competition, Sensible Soccer came and went but Fifa was the only game serious football fans talked about. Towards the end of the 90s? Konami attempted to break EA?s hold on the football market with their game, Pro Evolution Soccer. This was to be the start of one of the biggest debates in recent gaming history between sports fans. Suddenly this new kid on the block was seriously threatening Fifa?s crown. Gamers were either in the Fifa...

Has FIFA created the best FIFA so far?

Advantages: Detailed graphics
Disadvantages: lacks that game play of its earlier versions

...Playing FIFA 10 for the first time when it came out was abit of a dissapointment to be honest. I felt the game was good to play as it brought new characterisitcs to the game but it lacked that edge that FIFA 09 brought when comparing to the version before hand. I feel that FIFA have concentrated to strongly on creating better graphics that it lacks that excellent game play that FIFA's rival Pro Evo is so good at developing. Yes Pro Evo has its draw backs that FIFA strives in such as graphics and that extra detail what creates an excellent game so i still agree FIFA is the better game. The biggest problem that FIFA has is that it ignores the important area what gaming needs; the simplicity. Can you remeber FIFA 99 for the Playstation 1, how amazing was that game? The reason was the simplicity, the game was unique, it ignored the cutting...

Fifa 09

Advantages: The players are not as sluggish as in Fifa 08. They are more resposive and free flowing.
Disadvantages: Graphics could still be improved.

...Fifa 09 is a big change from 08. It offers many new features including the be a pro seasons where a player plays through multiple seasons to ultimately become a legend. This game also gives the user a chance to win trophies for ps3 and achievements on xbox 360. Another brand new feature this game offers is Ultimate Team, where the user is able to form his/her team by winning games and purchasing new players. The team start of small but can then expand to become the ultimate team. Users can play in online and offline tournaments to become the best. I feel that the online experience is also very good for both xbox 360 and playstation 3. I personally find the be a pro online mode very good, where you take control of one player and play with a team against up to nineteen other players at the same time. This game also gives you a chance to...

Fifa Manager 2007 Computer Game

Advantages: Super impression of being a football manager
Disadvantages: Fairly addictive game once started.

...FIFA Manager 2007 (PC) Introduction Here the game involves starting off as a new manager for a club of your choice. There are so many British, European, and other International sides to manage. The game involves almost every aspect of managing a football side. This game is not an action sports game like FIFA 08, this simply involves managing a football club. The choice of which team to manage, is yours. Upon starting a manager is given a budget to work with, fan's and the club's directors expectations level to meet. The ambition of a team such as Manchester United or Chelsea would usually be to finish in the top 3 of the league or to win the Premier League in that season, or win the Champions league etc. If failing to meet these expectations, or losing too many matches, the manager is sacked. If people do well, people can...

FIFA does it again!

Advantages: Variety. Excellent match engine.
Disadvantages: Online play sometimes slow depending on connection.

...Whether I'm bored, looking for a break from revision, generally stressed out or just want some relaxing enjoyment, FIFA 09 never fails to entertain or fill some time. In a word, FIFA is outstanding, and even though this is obviously my own personal preference, regardless of new game releases of other various genres, I cannot help but return to the ultimate PS3 game. Game Modes The variety of gameplay options on this release from the FIFA series is a vast improvement on any of the previous editions. With 'Be a Pro' single player and season options, this now offers a genuine alternative to the original season mode, of one should choose to do so. The introduction of the new add-on game, FIFA "Ultimate Team" is yet another diverse and excellent addition to the game. Even though users have to pay for this privilege, UT gives a unique...

Review of FIFA 09 (PS3)

FIFA 2008 (PC)

Advantages: Best yet, plenty to do, hours of fun
Disadvantages: Need to be a regular game player and fairly familiar with the game.

...The first FIFA game I have ever played was this one! FIFA 08! Let's get things straight here, I have asolutely no interest in football, especially of the game variety AND epecially of the pc game variety... I'm a tetris kind of girl (arghhhh I hear you cry.... why is she writing a review) but read on...... The game itself is amazing... the graphics are good and unlike some of its counterparts the screen image did not make me want to throw up ( I often find this with fast moving games with high graphics) After the initial trauma of my mate saying "why don't you give it a go" and actually trying out the game, I must admit I'm kind'a hooked! I am told (by my male friend) that: The serious ("FIFA...") has been going for around 13 years now, and numerous games have been released (14 at last count) and this is the most...

Fifa score the winner here

Advantages: Brilliant graphics, superb management mode, exciting and enthralling gameplay
Disadvantages: Commentary, inconsistent refs, turning sharply can be frustrating

...Despite what the title suggests, before this game was released I had always been a big fan of the International Superstar Soccer Pro franchise and definitely a great skeptic of the Fifa brand. Which therefore makes it all the more surprising that I have taken to this game in such positive fashion. As I am sure many of you fellow football gamers are aware, the last few ISS Pro releases have been very disappointing and it is the complacency and perhaps lazyness of the developers which has seen me gravitate towards Fifa. So despite my skepticism I decided to put aside my own misgivings and give the game a chance, I am truly I did. So what can you expect from Fifa? well initially we have the standard set up of all the major European leagues, all of the English leagues up to League 2 as well as several other leagues including the J League...
