Advantages: The players are not as sluggish as in Fifa 08. They are more resposive and free flowing.
Disadvantages: Graphics could still be improved.

FIFA 09 VS. Pro Evo

Advantages: Same, slick graphics; improved, rewarding gameplay
Disadvantages: Is far more rewarding for those willing to put in the hours!

Within the first couple of hours of playing FIFA 09 I'll admit I couldn't see much difference between the game and the previous year's installment. If anything I thought the graphics were worse than before! (I soon came to appreciate that the graphics were just 'different' rather than worse). It wasn't until I started moving up through the difficulty levels that i really began to appreciate the improvements to the game. It is at higher difficulties that the new 'Custom Tactics' really come into their own, it's also where a more considered, passing game becomes satisfying and effective. AI (artificial intelligence) has increased way too much in this game which means you are ACTUALLY playing the game! Can't comment about its competition against PES, but this game certainly was worth $30 no doubt. The main pro abt this game is its AI, personalised attributes (way too much i think) and vivid shot selection.. The main con is that you cannot replay game beyond a certain (minimum) limit which kinda sucks! PES can do that.... This feature was there in Fifa 08, I was surprised, 09 lacks it. ...EA sports have really moved up a gear with this game in my opinion. The overall gameplay is awesome as they have made the gameplay much faster which makes for a more exciting, easier to play gaming experience. The graphics are improved as the detail of the players and their kits is really quite magical. The online gameplay is exceptional, especially clubs where you can set up a team with your friends and play other teams around the world. Also the Be a Pro gaming style is really enjoyable as you focus on a single player for the season and build up his stats and reputation. ...This is the first fifa I have owned since the fifa 98 days, as I had become very much a Pro Evolution player. I heard good things about this game, so thought i'd give it a try, and must say it has lived up to the praise! The gameplay is amazing, so realistic, and has moved up a level from pro in my opinon. There is so much to the game as well, the dribbling, the skills, the shooting etc just makes the game feel more real. I think the best thing about the game is the 'pro' mode, this allows you to have a career (4 seasons) with one player, who you control in match days, and aim is to improve him as a player, this is fantastic option, and makes the game more enjoyable for one player. Advantages: Suitable for experienced, or novice players. Good controls. Fun to play.
