...The Da Vinci Code is probably one of the most controversial books of the modern day. When it was released it caused a storm. The Da Vinci code was released in 2003.It was written by Dan Brown and was an international bestseller.The book has sold 80 million copies as of 2009 and has been translated into 44 language. Most people, I know me included always thought this was his first novel. However, his first novel was actually Angels and Demons which was released in 2000. I've read the book and really really enjoyed it. It's one of those books that I think keeps you mesmerised from beginning to end. I found it hard to put down. Of course, the subject matter is very controversial and although it is meant to be somewhat fictional I can see elements of truth in it. ...I bought this book a couple of months ago after reading a positive review in a magazine. However, there was something slightly important that the review left out. But first; 'Buddha Da tells the endearing story of a working-class Glaswegian man who discovers Buddhism, rejects old habits and seeks a life more meaningful, only to alienate his immediate family in the process' So all sounds good, I was interested in this because I recently studied the Dalai Lama and found Buddhism and everything surrounding the DL fascinating. Disadvantages: Not much hot water and no air conditioning

...The Quinta Da Bellavista apartments are situated right in the middle of Albufeira, with a good 15 minutes walk to either the old town or The Strip, which is regarded as the new town and where all the night life and action is. The reception, pool area and bar are on the opposite side of the road from the apartments. We checked in (23rd June 08) and had to give a deposit of 50 euros this was to cover any damages and would be refunded at the end of the holiday. This deposit was not mentioned in the holiday brochure so beware of this when you go. The apartment was clean and tidy, with non of the signs of squashed mosquitoes on the walls. you find a bunk bed in the hall way right opposite the toilet, i'm not sure I would have wanted to sleep there.
