One of my favourite things about The Simpsons is their memorable movie references, and these four episodes are four of the greatest examples of this. The episodes are "Beyond Blunderdome", "A Star is Burns", "22 Short Films About Springfield" and "The Itchy and Scratchy Movie". In "Beyond Blunderdome" Homer wins tickets to see Mel Gibson's new movie, a remake of "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington", and asked to review it, which he promptly berates for being boring. This bothers Mel so much he flies back to Springfield and asks for Homers help in order to re-edit the film. What results is a bloody tour de force that has Mel decapitating the President of the United States. TOTAL FILM v EMPIRE

...WHAT IS IT: Lovefilm.com is a service which allows you to rent DVDs and console games and have them delivered through the post. It has a range of 65,000 film and TV titles across a variety of genres. You can order specific discs of TV box sets so you can watch them in order. Depending on which package you choose you can have a number of DVDs at the same time. GOOD POINTS: I must make it clear that I only used the free trial of lovefilm and I only took advantage of this offer to get ipoints. The website currently offers a 21 day free trial of the service if you sign up to one of their standard packages, the cheapest of which costs £9.78. My 10 favourite films

...I've got a pretty extensive list of favourite films & I've been sat here for a good 15 minutes just going through them all trying to pick my ultimate 10. So here goes? 1) Sex And The City I adore this film, I loved the TV series too & I didn't know if the film would match up but I was so glad when I watched it at the cinema to see that it was just as good if not better, I was actually pretty much in tears the whole way through embarrassingly enough! An essential film for any SATC fan or any fan of great chick flicks. The great thing about this film is that you don't have to have seen the series to enjoy it, a couple of my friends hadn't & they still loved it. Can't wait for the sequel! 2) Fight Club This isn't normally my type of film but I actually love this film & not just because Brad Pitt's topless most of the way through it...

The story centres around a rich man who is part of a group of people that regularly throw an "idiot dinner" - a competition to invite the most foolish person they can find as their guest to a party. Love Film.. Hate Lovefilm!

Disadvantages: Slow, Rude unhelpful staff, They ignore priority list why have it? Too many to list

...'t major problems, they were slow in processing your rentals and seemed like they did not see it as an issue to waste your subscription/trial in the process. My advice to you would be that if you're going to sign up to the trial, that you should: 1. Make sure that you only put in films/games that you really want, don't let the system make you put things in to fill out your list, 2. If you decide that you don't want to continue with them, make sure that you hammer it into them day after day from 5 days before the trial ends that you do not wish to continue so you have less chance of being charged anyway as that leads to stress city with no going back. If you do try them out, I hope you all have better experiences than I had. Good luck. This is also being posted on my dooyoo account....

...To be honest, I was always quite wary of using an online DVD rental company, thinking that there had to be some sort of catch for the good prices, and the service that they offered. But when I got a free trial offer for 2 weeks a few months ago, I decided it was worth having a go for 2 weeks to see what I thought. The company offering me the trail was LoveFilm.com, which is, according to their website, Europe's No. 1 online DVD rental service. I thought this sounded quite hopeful so on I went. When I reached the homepage of the site, I found that I didn't actually need the coupon code that I had received through the post, as they were openly advertising a 2 weeks free trial on the website itself.
