...We recently replaced our Russell Hobbs filter coffee maker as the valve that stopped the liquid coming through when the jug was removed had fallen off. We replaced it with a Morphy Richards Rapide. It certainly lives up to the rapide part of its name filtering coffee far quicker than its predecessor.It is a fast and efficient machine,easy to use and keep clean and has a permanent filter.My only gripe is that when the jug is removed there are always a couple of drips of coffee that fall onto the hot plate.It is also a little awkward to fill the resevoir with water as the opening is a little on the small side so care is needed to avoid spilling water. There is a coffee strength dial on the lid which seems to make no appreciable difference to the taste of the coffee to me....

Philips Senseo Coffee Maker - a coffee lovers heaven

Advantages: Perfect coffee at the press of a button
Disadvantages: Pods can be hard to find at times

...I am a complete coffee addict, I admit it. I can't function until I have had my caffine fix of the day. I drink my coffee stong,black and unweetened - because of this I like good coffee and it is one product that I will not economise on. Over my married life ( 38 years of it) I have had all sorts of coffee machines in my quest for a good cup of coffee, not just one that smells good when you walk in the kitchen but also tastes as good as it smells. I have had caffetieres, traditional expressom makers that you heat on the hob, an all singing and dancing cappuchino and espresso maker and umpteen different filter coffee machines. But I never did find the Holy Grail of coffee machines - the tatse wasn't quite right, or they were very difficult to clean or I ended up with a jug of stewed, bitter coffee. In this training room exists Caffeine regulatory device (aka a coffee machine, of the large industrial size), this machine is hired out to us at no charge except that it is reasoned that we will purchase coffee from the company supplying the machine. Senseo Coffee Maker

...My husband bought me the Senseo coffee maker for a Christmas present 2006, I must say it was one of the best things he has ever bought me.I love my coffee and have used it most days and more than once a day since. It is still going strong! The Senseo doesn't have all the fancy bits to it that other coffee machines do, but it makes a nice cup of coffee and is very easy to use. The coffee comes out hot, but not boiling (my mum was never impressed with it when she came over as she likes her coffees scolding). I have occasionally had trouble with leaks, but not very often. All in all, I like it. Its a good price and makes nice coffee, itt is also easy to clean, which is another bonus for me. ...I love good coffee. I don't drink any kind of coffee just to get my daily caffeine dose. A good coffee can be made of good raw material which for me is 100% arabica coffee beans (I prefer freshly ground coffee) and the other important factor is the coffee maker. I don't like coffee makers that work with filter. Coffee is not a kind of tee, it needs special machine. At Saeco engineers know how a good coffee is. I have this kind of coffee maker at my work place (ours at home is very similar, but other brand for financial reasons). I use it to prepare coffee for my bosses and their guests. I receive so many compliments for my coffee, you can't imagine. I could make a decision on what coffee maker to buy. I didn't hesitated much as I heard a lot about Saeco's premium coffee makers. So I choose Saeco Vienna. I won't waste your time...

I, like the perfect hostess, waited for my guests to settle in and listened to the hissing sound of the coffee maker with glee.
