...Bose SoundDock Digital Music System I happened to get this as a gift and it turned out to be quiet interesting Summary: This dock is used mainly for ipod and allows you to connet mp3 players to it and listen to high quality music via speakers. It is idle for homes and small gatherings, although I would not run a party off these. Pros: This system has terrific sound and can go very load despite its relative small size. As with almost all Bose speakers the quality is amazing, so long as the source you are playing it from is high quality it will allow the speakers to each its potential. I have a surround sound Bose set up in one of my rooms but now prefer to use this product as it is very simple to operate. Just plug the mp3 player in and press play and your set. Brilliant system, well worth a try.

Advantages: Very easy to use, looks pretty good as well.
Disadvantages: You'll end up buying alot, costs add up.

...Very very good system. In the past I've found myself screwing on filters, screwing off filters, as soon as I tried the Cokin system, I knew i'd never go back. All you do is screw the adaptor ring onto the end of your camera - using the normal threading rings - then slide the holder over the top and clip it into place. Your done! Now all you have to do to change the filter, is slide one out, and slide another in. The results you can acheive with this system is outstanding. I never thought a graduated filter would make so much difference, but it really does. It gives the whole picture a new depth and more desirable lighting, not just the area shaded. After getting into this system I've found myself wanting to buy more filters, which can bump up the price. Its definatly worth it though, nowadays you won't find many professionals not using...

Through a lens clear, dark..err darker

Its time to change your Tefal Quick Cup filter

Advantages: Neat filter cartridge replacement as easy as changing a light bulb
Disadvantages: Maybe you need to change it a little too often

You only need a litre of cheap white vinegar poured into the water tank and press both the ambient and hot water buttons together to start the de-scaling process and pass the vinegar through the system. ...I have been using the cokin P-series filters for a while now. For anyone who doesn't know what they are, let me explain. Cokin filters are square or rectangular sheets of plastic and sometimes glass, with various colours, gradients or other effects on them. You mount the filters into a holder, which can hold up to three filters (or one if using a wide angle version) and a polarising filter. The filter holder is then mounted to your lens using whats known as an adapter ring. This is a metal ring with a thread size the same as your lens, which the holder clips onto in a really simple manner. Excellent travel system

Advantages: Folding down, multifunctional
Disadvantages: Slightly heavy

...Being a first time Mum, I searched around all the high street shops for a functional and attractive travel system. Out of all the prams this one had the easiest folding down system, even tho it was slightly on the heavy side I could fold it down with 1 hand! The carry cot was great for the first 4 months fitting in to the pram snuggly as the seat folded flat (which I found alot of other prams didn't do) The car seat had a base that made it so easy to take the baby in and out of the car (no messing around with seat belts every time!) It is also very well padded, however it didnt come with cushioned protectors on the straps. When we were taking baby home for the first time, the midwife told us it needed them which were only £5 extra to buy. A bulky travel system

Advantages: Big Shopping basket, Suitable until baby wants to walk, Great for Ramming people out of the way (joke)

filtered water - an unrealistic dream?

.... Just what we needed. We were quite impressed with the filter jug to start with. It has a special 'pour through lid', so you don't have to take the lid off or even open it to fill it with water - ideal for lazy people. There is an opening in the lid that automatically opens with the water pressure. As the funnel fills up, the opening starts to close so that you know to turn off the tap then. This method is prone to splashing and the lid therefore shows limescale build up. The lid has to be washed by hand although the jug and funnel can be washed in the dishwasher. The jug has an electronic 'memo' system to let you know when to change the filter. You press the start button when you put in a new filter and 4 bars appear. One bar disappears each week and when the last bar disappears an arrow starts flashing to remind you to change...
