...The Fuji FinePix S1500 is the latest incarnation of the very successful FinePix S1000fd. It is very SLR-like in appearance and the added bulk of the battery-holder/grip does give it an assured feeling in your hands. Of course, this can be a disadvantage, and if you want a camera that you can just slip in-and-out of your pocket, then maybe a slimmer compact should be considered. The 12x optical zoom is excellent and it equates to 33-396mm in 35mm terms - and if this isn't enough, there is a 5.7x digital zoom feature too. The menus are friendly and easy to navigate, and there are helpful explanatory prompts that appear on thew LCD screen when the mode-dial setting is changed. Fuji FinePix F70EXR - slimline super-zoom

Advantages: Features, Low-light capability
Disadvantages: A little confusing to master and a little too expensive

...The Fuji FinePix F70EXR is billed by the manufacturer as the slimmest 10x zoom camera on the market and, at less than 23mm in depth, it is certainly very easy and convenient to carry around. The zoom is great for magnification, being the equivalent of 27-270mm in 35mm terms, but I found it to be a little fuzzy at the long end. There is also a 4x digital zoom for anyone who wants it. The FinePix F-series cameras are renowned for their low-light (high ISO) capabilities and the F70EXR should be no exception, sharing as it does the 1/2 inch sensor of the F200EXR but with 2 million fewer pixels crammed onto it. Also the EXR technology is great for combating noise on higher ISO shots. Pro camera at silly price

Advantages: cheap, well built, cheap accessories, loads of bits on ebay excellent quality
Disadvantages: not little, not light, small screen, hard to get Smart Media cards anymore

...I own 2 Fuji cameras the S9600 and the S8000fd, these were purchased last summer to take photographs at some local music festivals for a local newspaper (times and star). After being hooked back into taking photos with an (almost) proper camera I started considering buying a full on DSLR, the problem is that the S9600 is such a good camera that bettering it would be hard (and very expensive) so I gave up. Enter E-Bay and after a couple of silly bids I won a second hand Fuji Finepix S2 pro for under £140 and a bit more shopping landed a 70 - 200mm lens for under £60, so I bought a slightly old very good DSLR for under £200! OK so the Fuji may be a little big and heavy compared to some of the new DSLR's it can still manage a 12Mp interpolated image thanks to Fuji's Super CCD. Fuji s602Pro Zoom, good all rounder.

Advantages: Ergonomic feel, lens quality, superb battery life
Disadvantages: Slow with best 6MP setting, poor low light focus.

...batteries, keep the camera on it's tripod all day, and just wait for the wild birds to visit my feeders and get caught on camera.... Being the "Pro" version, it is slightly different to the standard model - the most relevant feature for me is the addition of a remote shutter release cable. I now have a 3m cable release so I dont need to be near the camera to snap a shot. Quite useful if the garden is full of skittish birds, or if I dont want to cause any vibrations in the telescope when Im taking astro shots. The other Pro function is the PC synch socket, but I have to confess, I've never used this feature. I use the camera for astronomy (see my Star Travel 102mm telescope review for more), and one of the only problems I face on a regular basis, is poor autofocus ability in low light levels. ...I love this camera! I was bought it as a present from a photography obsessed relative and he wouldn't buy me rubbish. The package: digital FinePix camera Z10fd, Li-on battery NP-45, battery charger, handy strap, USB cable, A/V cable, CD-ROM and manual. Technical part: works on windows Vista, XP home, XP Pro, 2000 Pro. 7.2 mega pixals, 3x optical zoom and 2.5 incg LCD screen Handy extras (not supplied) - XD picture memory card and carry case. Memory card is deffinately recommended so you can take more pictures and a carry case would be nice although I don't use one as it's small and light enough to fit in the pocket of my handbag. Not being a camera person and never really using one before I found this easy to set up and install on my PC. The menus are easy to navigate and there is a more than ample choice of shooting modes...

Pro Elegance - Pretty but not the best

Advantages: Does straighten hair pretty well
Disadvantages: Cheap feel, heat functions dodgy, quite pricey for what you get!!

They look very stylish and the colour makes them look just like the description Pro Elegance, but they feel very plastic like when you pick them up and they are very light (one feature that is useful when you have to spend an hour with your hands above your head so to speak).
