...It's fair to say that I'm more than a little bit Placebo mad; in fact, it's truer to say, that I'm obsessed with the alternative three piece! As a loyal devotee to the band, I'm always on the look out for new and exciting memorabilia to satisfy my band needs. So, one shopping trip in Lincoln a couple of years ago took me - as always - to a music shop. At the time, I hadn't got all of the Placebo albums themselves so I went over to see what they'd got in stock. With my Mother doing her best to divert my attentions from their records (later I'd find out this was because I would be getting them for my birthday), my fingers stumbled across an unofficial CD called 'Maximum Placebo' claiming to be an 'Unauthorised Biography' of the group. A Disappointing Finish

...I have just finished a pack of these new Finish Quantum Powerball Tablets (gosh what a mouthful!), I had to get these as my normal Fairy Active Bursts were out of stock on a recent trip to Asda. THE HYPE: Heavily advertised on TV presently, these tablets claim to be Finish's best ever dishwasher detergent, with a emphasis on shifting tough coffee and tea stains but not much else, so does this mean that it doesn't clean anything else?hmmmm I had to find out but only because there was no Fairy! THE PACKAGING: I bought a box of 12 tablets.   Finished off nicely !

Advantages: sparkling dishes
Disadvantages: expensive

...dishwasher properly, especially the 'Warning do not use any products other than prepared dishwasher products', I had to spend the next hour cleaning out all the foam, gradually all my appliances, cooker, fridge, freezer e.t.c. started reappearing, and then there was the washer itself to clean out, took an absolute age. The one good thing that came out of all this was my kitchen ended up sparkling clean (floor was a bit slippery though, so would not reccommend using washing liquid on floors either) So you see, I now use 'proper' dishwashing products, and although expensive, have not yet found a better product to do the job other than 'Finish' ABOUT THE BRAND 'Finish' were the first developers and producers of automatic brands of washing powder and they have been developing and improving their products for over 50 years. Rimmel Lasting finish nail varnish

Advantages: Black Cherries is a stunning colour
Disadvantages: more chips than a chippy

...Rimmel London's I love lasting finish nail varnish comes in 13 shades and is touted as a long lasting hard wearing chip resistant varnish. Wellll not quite....! The colour range is decent enough, not spectactular but there are a few cool colours in there - I bought Black Cherries which is a cross between a burgundy and purple colour. The actual shade itself is awesome and although I usually wear two coats, one is actually enough for a rich colour. The finish is really glossy and the drying time is superquick even though it not spefically sold as a quick drying polish. Its cheap enough to buy, under £3 and seeing as I base my choices on price and colour it fits both criteria. My issue is that they say its chip resistant. What a crock! I HATE handwashing dishes, and dishwashers use less water and soap and energy tthan handwashing as well as kill more germs with the heat.Washing the dishes with the machine is simple. I scrape the plates (would have to if handwashing as well), load in the machine, put my detergent in, and switch it on. Easy peasy and at the end I have gleaming plates, bowls, cups, glassware, cutlery, and pots and pans. But owning a thing means some care and maintenance needs to be taken. In this case, the machine needs the filter degreased and any limescale that has made it past the salts removed. This not only prolongs the life of the machine, but helps it clean your dishes better. Not even close to Maximum

Advantages: A good general idea and storyline
Disadvantages: Underdeveloped characters, annoyingly short chapters

...Whilst all the other reviews of this book rate this product very highly, I have to sadly disagree. The story starts with Maximum Ride, a girl who was grafted with avian DNA, giving her wings and ultra-light bones, living with her five friends - Iggy, Fang, Nudge, Angel and Gasman (who share the same bird-like qualities) in a house by themselves. They all grew up in a cruel institute called the School, where many kids like themselves are turned into mutants by evil scientists, eager to push the boundaries of science.
