...My husbands Aunt very kindly always buys our son (Oakley), and our nephew, a gift for christmas and she likes it to be fun, but educational. She gave him this 'Here comes a Fire Engine' DVD for Christmas 2006, when he was two and this remains his favourite DVD today. Our nephew had 'Here comes a Digger' which is also very good, but this one wins hands down every time! This 'real life' film is narrated by 'Uncle Nick' who has a lovely deep but jolly voice. ...Early Learning Centre Lights and Sounds Fire Engine.... This toy was something I knew jack would like and I asked his Nanna to buy him it, and I was right he totally loved it. All Christmas day he wouldn't put it down and it has been one of his most played with toys ever since. The Fire Engine itself is quite a good size and chunky in design which makes it perfect for small hands. The age range of this toy is from 12 months plus. The Fire engine comes with three little firemen that each have a hole in their underside so that they can be fitted in to the ladder or in the driving seats of the engine. ELC Fire Engine - "All hands to the pumps!"

Advantages: Perfect for little fingers, excellent lights and sounds.
Disadvantages: Can't think of any

...We bought this for our son as one of his first birthday presents (the recommended age is 1 up) and literally haven't heard the end of it since! It cost us £20 from ELC - money well worth spent as I would definetely say it's one of his firm favourites. The engine is approx 40cm long and comes with 3 firemen who fit inside (2 in the cab and another in the crane) or be played with separately. It has flip down shutters on both sides - one which has tools inside (can't actually play with them as they're painted on!) and another which has a few buttons inside which make fun fire engine noises when pressed and a hose reel which makes a wooshing water noise when turned. When the firemen are sat in the cab, you can push them down to hear more phrases like "Hurry...it's an emergency" and the steering wheel button can also be pressed to...

OVERALL --------------- My overall opinion on the Step2 Fire Engine Bed is fantastic value for money and well worth considering if you are looking for a themed bed for your little ones. The bed helps to encourage little ones to go to bed with no trouble however be prepared for a month of wanting to play before sleep lol. I have found that it also keeps him occupied in the mornings giving me that further hour in bed that makes all the difference.
