Fantastic Firenze

Advantages: Well laid out city, absolutely tons to see, incredible art, great shops, GELATO!
Disadvantages: One day is nowhere near enough

Ciao Firenze

Advantages: full of culture
Disadvantages: queues for some places, tiring but understandable

...After this city was the setting for "Hannibal", I thought I'd write and tell you all that it is even more beautiful than it is portrayed in the film. I went last September, for a week. As Florence (or Firenze as it is called in Italy) has no airport, we flew, from Manchester, to the Galileo Gallilee airport in Pisa. The flight was as comfortable as you would expect with British Midland and took around 2 hours. The first thing I was greeted with when I got off the plane was a life size poster of Pavarotti! Still, Customs were O.K. and we caught a bus to Florence right outside the airport. This took around an hour and cost the equivalent of 4 quid. So the city itself is quite accessible. My car boot sale bargain

Advantages: Lovely frothy coffee in your home.

I had been looking for one for ages but was reluctant to spend so much money on an itemI was sure would soonend up at the back of the cupboard. One Sunday morning wandering round the local car boot sale I saw a box with a sticker saying £4 on it. The Italian Job

Advantages: Easy to make delicious and authentic Italian coffee/cappuccinos
Disadvantages: Just too more-ish!

...My friend Debs and I have become almost permanent customers of our local Coffee Shop, Costas, as they serve up the most delicious Italian cappuccinos this side of...er...Italy?! They’re delicious, huge, frothy and mouth-watering! It was getting to be so bad that Costas were putting up ‘Missing’ posters if we weren’t there everyday as usual for our caffeine fix. The staff know us on first name terms as their best customers, we have our own regular table by the window and they’ve even started to send us Christmas cards! We have even toyed with the idea of decorating our own particular corner of Costas with favourite plants and pictures etc! Smooth Baby Yeh

Advantages: Delivers hot cappuccino quickly
Disadvantages: Milk Frothing device is fiddly to clean, and not dishwasher safe

...I have owned the Deonghi Caffe Firenze since Christmas. All in all I have no complaints about the machine as it does perform to a very high standard, delivering hot espressos and cappuccinos in a relatively short time. However I do find that the cleaning of the machine does take a while and has to be done with quite some precision otherwise the pipes used to create the frothy milk tend to get a bunged up. Also, it is recommended that the pipes be cleaned soon after using the machine. Which simply isn’t practical, you dont really want to be stood in the kitchen cleaning pipes if you have just made coffee for a visiting friend do you? But apart from the cleaning of the patented milk frothing device, I find this a very easy to use machine and quite cheep compared to some of the other cappuccino makers on the market....
