Unputdownable book for babies...!

Advantages: Entertains very young babies.
Disadvantages: No ties for cot.

...Prior to my sons arrival, I had heard quite a bit about ?black & white? books/high contrast images for babies, so decided to buy the ladybird cot book & see if the hype was true? Basically babies can, from a very young age, see & take note of high contrast images ? such as black & white. Many of these visual products for babies also include colours such as yellow & red. Such patterns can often be found on toys, play mats, cot mobiles etc. The Ladybird cot book is a concertina style book, which is made of padded fabric & unfolds to create a long panel of images. There are 5 panels/pages in total. Each panel features an image or pattern in black, white & yellow. One side has a train, wavy lines, a flower, & a checkerboard, while the other side features a snail, a house, a star, a car & a fish. All the images are very simplistic...

My First.....

Advantages: Introduces children to shapes.
Disadvantages: Not the most exciting of books compared to recent publications on the same theme.

Lord Of The Rings the first, book one

Advantages: once you get the boring stuff out of the way, the book is good
Disadvantages: too much description

...I am going to talk about the very first lord of the rings book, The fellowship of the ring part one. This book, has a great deal of adventure in, and doesn't lack in description. If anyone has read this book, im sure they would agree that this book may have a bit tooo much description in. Description is good, but when you get too explaining every blade of grass to the last detail you may get bored. Even though i wanted to quit reading it so bad, i kept going because i know it does get better. You go on this wonderful adventure with Frodo Baggins from Bag end. Along with Sam, his loyful companion. You meet loads of interesting characters on the way including, Tom who is like the god of all land, sea and sky in the area were he lives. Great book for a young baby

Advantages: Inexpensive, fascinating for young babies

...If you're not a little baby, this looks like the world's least interesting book, but trust me - if you're a little baby it's brilliant! It has only 6 pages, made of cloth and filled with something that crinkles when you move it/chomp on it/wave it around! The first two pages have a repeated heart pattern and a picture of a daddy, the 2nd two pages have a different heart pattern and a picture of a mummy and the third two pages have a lovely bright yellow background and a picture of a baby. As you can see from the picture, they are simple, unsophisticated pictures - very basic and stylised, which makes them great for even very new babies to look at. They are done in black, white and yellow only, making them easy to see with young eyes. The book can attach to a car seat, pram or high chair using the strip of fabric and velcro attached...

...Books are great whether you are young or old, and they are a superb way of bonding with your little ones even if they can not read. My little boy, who is 11 months old, can not read or speak as yet, but certainly loves story time. He really enjoys being read to as well as being able to partake by turning the pages himself. He also loves sitting on his own simply turning the pages and looking at the pictures, whether the book is the right way round or not. As a result of his love of books I invested in some fabric books for babies and toddlers. They are a fantastic invention, as they offer a variety of different textures for your baby to explore and more importantly your little one won't be able to eat it - suck on it, chew on it maybe - but definitely not eat it.. PLAY WITH MATER + McQUEEN !! (LeapPad book)

Advantages: Favourite characters in the book, same story as film, great learning games
Disadvantages: If your kid doesn't like the film Disney Pixar ' Cars' don't bother

... My First LeapPad - Disney Pixar Cars Book Out of the tonnes of "Cars" merchandise out there, this was by far one of the best buys I made. It has proved to have long lasting entertainment value unlike some of the models cars which lose their novelty value pretty fast. All of the books for the My First Leap Pad are "two in one" flip books with one story side and one activity side. The cover is fairly thick shiny card and the pages are thinner but still durable. The cartridge has a matching picture of McQueen so easy to find the right one to go with the book. The pictures on and in the 'Cars' book are cartoon-style rather than the flashy pixar computer generated characters from the film which I found a bit disappointing to honest, though all the favorites are here and still very recognisable it just lacks the flashy pixar...

My Baby Book - A First Five Year Diary.

...As I got to the end of my pregnancy, my Boss bought me a really good Baby Book. It?s one of the 5 year ones, with cute little bears on the front and back, and it was brightly coloured. The book was compiled and designed by Desmond Marwood and Illustrated by Patricia Ludlow. It was first published in 2001 by Brown Watson, reprinted twice in 2002, twice in 2003 and twice again in 2004. There are 48 pages in total. I?m not sure of the price because as I said, it was a gift. As the book is quite long, I?m not going to review the whole of it, I?m just going to review half of it. The book cover is shiny and seems to have some sort of padded covering, and the pages are coated too, which gives them a nice glossy finish. The book begins with a contents page. Great Introdcution to Poetry

Advantages: Nice poems, bright and colourful
Disadvantages: Not as engaging as other childrens books

...Book bag time at school again for Jacob which really did please him as he loves looking a books and reading them with me and Daddy. This book was a nice addition as it introduced him to poetry which is something he has not really heard before. The cover of the book is bright blue and has the title in nice bubble letters which are all a different colour across the front and lots of different pictures all around this. The back cover is also bright blue and again has lots of pictures covering it showing a variety of different things. Upon opening the book the first page has a lovely little space where your child can write their own name so people will know that the book belongs to them.
