A first class car seat

Advantages: Comfy, stylish, long-lasting, easy recline mechanism
Disadvantages: heavy

...I spent ages trying to find a second stage car seat which fitted our two Vauxhall cars. I'd read a lot about the fact that 80% of car seats are incorrectly fitted, so I wnted to get it right. I also wanted a seat which would recline easily without the need to re-adjust the fitting. After some really duff advice and "help" from Mothercare, I went to Halfords where the fully trained staff were brilliant and really knew their products. I was assured that a First Class would fit both of our cars, and the fitter showed us how it is done. The advantage of the First Class over others is that there are two fitting options, which makes it more likely that it will fit one way or the other. Review of Britax First Class

Two cars one seat no problem with First Class

Advantages: Tilt for comfort, five point harness with padding, easy to move between cars
Disadvantages: Large base with metal bars which may mark car furnishings

...seemed to be looming......then we tried the Britax First Class. This was not my first choice as it looks ugly in the showroom with its big metal base frame but how wrong first impressions can be!! When fitted in the older car it has an alternative route for the belt buckle, ideal for cars made before 2002! Fast and easy to fit in both cars was a relief but I was worried we were comprimising on my little girls comfort but these worries was aliviated on her first trip. The five point harness is easy to adjust (one button easiely reached) and has built in padding which cannot slide of place to stop her neck getting sore. It reclines smoothly with the touch of one handle to ensure she doesn't drop her head forward when she goes to sleep. The sides allow her to see out the windows but offer good protection. ROARY'S FIRST DAY BUT NOT HIS LAST

Advantages: great for roary fans
Disadvantages: YOU COULD ENJOY IT!!!!!

...the cars at the first opportunity (and also Mr Carburettor's arch enemy) and Dinky the donkey. Going back to the DVD. This is Roary the racing first DVD and is called "Roary's first Day". The front cover has Roary the racing car at the top, Roary himself with Big Chris behind him and Maxi just slightly further behind with Roary's first day underneath (also mentioning featuring Peter Kay as Big Chris). There are 5 episodes on this DVD and I will only give a highlight to them (don't want to spoil your watching pleasure). Roary's first day: Roary is slightly shaken up after having a bad dream about the forthcoming big race so big Chris tells him the story of a little red racing car when he arrived at the racecourse and overcame his initial fears. ...anything. You can press the horn on the steering wheel to hear beep beep which is like a reved up sound off a horn. The little person fits into the seat and when you push down on the seat the car revs up the engine and prepares to move. The noise is loud and you can get a fright. Once the car is in driving gear it moves along the floor and then suddenly brakes and stops again. It doesn't move for more than about 10 seconds at the very most. At the end there is a little giggle as though the driver had fun. The noises are all very real and are also very loud! Murray was put off the car at first when he pressed a button at first and it took a few weeks before he would go near it again! I loved this car when it was in the shop and I looked at it. But when it came to the crunch and we had one at home, I found it disappointing...

Vicks First Defence

Advantages: Gets rid of a cold

...Vicks First Defence is AMAZING! The only product to actually get rid of a cold. I have used this several times now and every time it has worked. You're supposed to use it when you first feel the signs of a cold coming on, which you don't always know but I have used it mid way through a bad cold and it has cleared up. I've found I have had one bad day and then the next day my cold has dissappeared. It works by drawing the cold out of you quickly so you feel really lousy for a day but it's worth it so the cold doesn't drag on for days or even weeks! Vicks First Defence makes no claim to cure colds, or to prevent them but it does claim to reduce the chance of developing a full blown cold by up to 50% if taken promptly at the first sign of symptoms and to cut symptoms by up to 40% but each time I have used it, it has worked better...

...I bought this when I had my baby as it was apparently the best on the market and I really can't find fault with it at all it has been the most reliable of our baby products and can't rate it highly enough. This car seat is different from others as it is suitable for up to 9 months whilst the majority of others are just up to 6 months. The seat is well padded and has a 'head hugger' so it is safer for newborns. This headhugger can then be removed once your baby is big enough. The straps also can be adjusted once your baby grows so that it is still safe and comfortable. The straps are easy to use- at first they were fiddly but once you have the hang of them then you know what you're doing they're easy! once you have strapped your baby in you then pull on the straps to make them tight so that your baby is safetly in place...

First Defence - it really works!?

..."First defence" is an interesting concept. A nasal spray that is meant to keep colds at bay. How could that work? There is no cure for the common cold, so logically you can't prevent it either. Other than by eating healthy and staying inside and never having contact with other human beings. But alas, I'm not a hermit, neither are you either in all probability. I'll admit, this another one of those products my wife had bought and stuffed in the cupboard and I didn't even know we had. She likes doing things like that. In our house, the cycle of illness is quite a common thing. Both my wife and I work in stuffy air conditioned offices where colds, bugs and flu's are regularly passed from person to person. Brilliant infant car seat

Advantages: Excellent for safety, comfort and totally practical

...I used this for my daughter and used it from birth right through to the upper weight limit which is actually higher than most other car seats in this category. She always seemed so content in it and happily napped when travelling. The sun canopy is excellent, great for protecting the baby when driving and carrying about. Sun canopy also stores away easily when not in use, remaining attatched but out for the way. I also bought the easybase which made loading and unloading baby from car very quick and easy - especially when its raining which it so often does here. Also purchased mosquito net & Raincover both excellent purchases and in the UK I certainly needed them. I liked the fact that there were internal pads that could be removed as she grew to enable more comfort and space for her within the seat. Covers are easily removed for washing...
