.... The overwhelming response from nearly all parents was to buy a V Tech First Steps Baby Walker. I've got to say I was a little bit dubious, especially as my firstborn had one (14 years ago) and it was little more than a dust-catcher. It certainly wasn't played with. However, fast forward fourteen years and the V Tech walker has changed - hasn't everything? WHAT FEATURES DOES IT HAVE? Vtech First Steps Baby Walker. Fun for all!

Advantages: Sturdy walker, with a fun educational toy attachment
Disadvantages: The detachable phone thats detached & under the sofa for several days!

...a great asset to me & I believe my nephew. Hes certainly had a lot of fun with it, laughing & dancing the day away! ...Absoluty love this as does my daughter!! I decided to buy her this walker over other "sit in" wakers through advice of my health visitor who advised that the sit in ones could lead to children tip toe walking and for genral safety she discourged the sit in ones. This walker was easy to set up and go. I love the way the front panel comes off and baby can use it seperatly too. She loves the music thtas with it and i often find her imitating the sounds! when i bought this my daughter was around nine moths old and just learning to stand on her own and this helped her to start pulling up and taking those first steps. now shes fully walking and still plays with this pushing it like a trolley around the house. only thing i found was it ran away with her in the beginning on our wodden floor so would let her play with it only on carpet...

VTech first steps walker

Advantages: light and easy to take away with you or hang on the back of a buggy
Disadvantages: slips and slides when they try to pull up on it, but can be fixed

...This walker has been used by my daughter since she was 5months old. She loved playing with the musical part on the front whilst sitting on my lap. My issues with the walker are that it moves to freely even on a carpet. It simply slides even sideways so when she was learning to pull herself up it didnt help at all as it knocked her confidence as she just ended up face first in the carpet. I still think its a good toy, and once they can walk its great as its small enough to hang on the back of the buggy and take for a walk with you so that they can get used to walking outside with shoes on. My advice is that if you buy this product go to your local modle shop and buy a set of modle car tyres (off road) and stick these over the plastic wheels. Its makes it better than any other walker I have seen on the market....

Although she had a sit-in baby walker, which enabled her to stand on her feet and giving her extra mobility, I felt that this was cheating her of taking her first steps on her own. ...the washing machine mid-cycle, turn off the Sky Box and reconfigure the printer all at the touch of a few buttons! Sigh... The tunes drive you a bit demented after a while "Puppy says clap your hands!" ARRRRRRRRRGH!!! But there are two volume settings and also an ON/OFF switch, which thankfully is quite hard for little fingers to operate. With the learning centre detached, there is little difference between this and a traditional walker - it's just something sturdy and undamagable to help baby take some steps while holding on to something for support - giving their parent's hands a break! To start with I had to hold the walker firmly otherwise it would just have been rolled away and Leah would have fallen flat on her face, but when she was able to stand up by herself and control it, it became much easier for her to use. ...When thinking of how to get the little ones off their bums and on their own 2 feet there are any number of wiered and wonderful ideas that the 'brains' of the world come up with. Bottom line i think its best to keep it simple. In essence thats what this is, simplistic and does what it says on the tin. My little boy was not the fastest to his feet by any means but i believe this product helped no end. As a toy its great as there are lots of different settings to play around with and the dancing that my boy learnt was not only unforgettable but also hilarious. This product i felt was stable, robust and well worth the money. Dont waste time, effort and your hard earned on other products when this will do the job. ...the first album to be released by Steps. This album introduces the band in a personal as well as musical way! ***How To Recognise This Album*** Step One is quite easy to recognise in the shops. The cover has a white background with the words ?Steps, Step One? across the top and bottom, the words at the bottom are upside down and in blue and the words at the top are upright and a kind of pinky colour.
