...From an early age, my friends and I were addicted to collecting TY beanies. For those of you who do not know (where have you been?), TY Beanies are a collection of little teddies in all forms of animals and teddy bears. Once you start a collection they are quite addictive. You find you are always looking for new ones and cannot stop buying them - havoc for your wallet, heaven for your collection! One of the Beanies is a fish, who goes by the name of Coral. Its such a beautiful name - I was obsessed with sea coral as a child so this is a delightful treat for me. Coral is very attractive to look at too. ...I love fish fingers, but I'm pretty fussy about what I eat, and whilst with many products I'm happy to just go with the cheapest brand available, fish fingers for me are always Birdseye. Most cheap fish fingers tend to be made from the mysterious 'Minced White Fish' which has the texture of mashed up cardboard and tastes like licking a sweaty armpit. You're probably thinking I'm exaggerating there, after all, nobody makes a habit of licking armpits . I paid £1.69 for the box which contains 10 fish fingers made with 100% fish fillet (Alaska Pollock). I choose these particular ones as I wanted to give Jake the best quality I could buy in a supermarket. The Fish Fingers are really easy to cook, under the grill or in an oven for 12 ? 15 minutes, turning occasionally. The first time I tried them with Jake, I just cooked him one and four for me. While I was waiting for his fish finger to cool I made myself a fish finger buttie. ...I love fish fingers - and must confess to being somewhat fussy about them. Whereas with many other items, I'm happy to buy the shops own economy version - fish fingers for me HAVE to be Birdseye. ...I tried to eat at least one portion of fish a week, it's healthy, it contains good oils, etc and my favourite has got to be salmon. Sometimes on its own though I think fish can be fairly bland but it's hard to know what sauce to buy/make as there are not many out there. A few months ago while I was looking for something to accompany my fish I came across these Schwartz for fish packets. They are gorgeous. Basically Schwartz have come up with a range of different sauces which they say include their specially selected ingredients which complement the delicate flavours of a wide variety of fish. My favourite is the Tangy Lime and Coriander Sauce as it has a quite delicate flavour which does not overpower the fish. The best fish and chips in Wales and it's official!

...As some of you will already know we live in Llandudno and I am happy to tell you that we boast an award winning fish and chip shop ? in fact it came second in Great Britain in the National Fish and Chip Shop of the Year a couple of years ago. Incidentally on the way up to Edinburgh we tried the fish and chips at the winning shop in Biggar and they are nowhere near as good as ours! The chip shop in question is called Fish Tram Chips which you may think is an odd name but it is directly opposite the terminal where you catch the tram up to the summit of the Great Orme so that explains the name then. The set has a few plastic fish and some wooden fishing rods with a piece of string with a magnet attached a pond area was also supplied a piece of card pond shaped. You had to dangle your rod into the pond and pull out a fish. These games are still on sale at toy giant you can buy 10 fish with 2 rods for £5. The fish are plastic with a metal ring through the head, the rods a thin wooden dowel with a small magnet attached. These are quite good fun on Christmas day. They are fairly cheap for stocking filler. These games are suitable for children 3 years and upward I have not bought fishing games, as I prefer to make my own, as they are easy and fairly cheap to make.
