No floaters in Floaties!

Advantages: Dries fast, looks cute
Disadvantages: Bit pricey if you don't go swimming much.

...and found that they don't make them small enough for young babies! So being the would-be earth mother-type that I am and loving my washable normal nappies, I looked for a reusable swim nappy. I finally settled on the Floaties Aquanappy. They come in several cute designs, suitable for girls or boys and the smallest size they make is 3-6 months (4-8kg). I found them on the Incy Wincy website and paid £7.55 for one nappy (free p&p). My nappy arrived in a couple of days and we couldn't wait to try it out. The outer fabric looks just like swimsuit material. Inside, the lining looks similar and there's a plasticy type of material between the two. The nappy arrived in a strong plastic bag with handles and poppers, the idea being that it's a hygienic place to store your nappy. Maybe that is so, but I personally wouldn't bother. I slid...

Review of Floaties Aqua Nappy

Bobbing along in me Floaties Swimseat!

Advantages: Gives baby independence in the pool.
Disadvantages: Difficult to get baby in and out!

...Before I start, I know this probably isn't the most appropriate category for this review, but I had trouble deciding where it should go (and if anyone has any suggestions, please feel free to say so!). Suffice to say, it is NOT a bath seat! Anyway, I'm warming to my theme now on all things swimming-related (see my last review on Floatie Aquanappy!). As I mentioned then, I have decided to take up swimming in a bid to lose my pregnancy weight. Far from it being a lone pursuit, my husband and daughters have got in on the act and made our trips to the local pool a family affair. Fortunately, Gavin is not a keen swimmer, so is more than happy to linger in the baby pool with the kids whilst I practice controlled drowning in the large pool. WHY WE NEEDED THIS SEAT The first time we all went swimming, I think I burned more calories...

Review of Floaties Swim Seat

Beware the Floaty Bear Thing!!!

Advantages: Cute, jiggly bear by Roman Dirge.
Disadvantages: Not for kids...not to everyone's liking.

...Because he is wonderful; my splendid fiancé treated me to a new Roman Dirge collectable - "Floaty Bear". He arrived in the post and I got very excited about it. I immediately popped onto Ciao and searched for this little fella but he was not there, so I quickly proposed him and the very next day Ciao okayed it along with the Bear Factory in Cardiff which I had not suggested. For little dear son, I bought an Aqua Nappy made by Floaties. DS is very small for his age. At nearly 6 months, he is the size and weight and proportion of the average 3 month old, one with sparrow legs, so I needed a nappy that wouldn't let anything escape...ewwwwwwww The Floaties Aqua Nappy fit the bill. They look like miniature blue bikini cut swim trunks and are very slim fitting. The legs and waist are gently elasticated so that whilst fitting our little birdie legs, will stretch comfortably over a chubbier baby, and providing good containment in case of the worst case scenario. Have a floaty dress at the ready.

Advantages: Smells fantastic
Disadvantages: Too girly for some.

...doesn't! Surely it would have made sense to call it Violet? It is rather pricey, £40 for 50ml but have a smell of it and you will find it difficult not to buy it! The thing is it will make you want to wear a floaty dress to go with it so you will have to buy one of those too....

Ballerinas In Floaty Dresses.

Advantages: Breathtaking
Disadvantages: Make sure you read the right synopsis.

...what was going on. I should also add that I had not seen the tickets which were clearly marked ?Tchaikovsky? so don?t think I am stupider than I actually am. This was in the main theatre. We were sitting about halfway back in the circle and the view was good. I had forgotten my glasses which didn?t help but I could still see. They did not have opera glasses so I could not see facial expressions but it isn?t a very big theatre so I am sure that anyone with good vision would be fine. Although the dancers were fabulous and I very much enjoyed the show the play itself wasn?t really my thing. I am afraid I am a bit of a romantic and was expecting more girls in floaty dresses? call me sexist? whatever? that is just my preference.
