Review of Wizz Laminate Wood Floor Cleaner

Floored

Advantages: easy to wipe clean, better for asthmatic children and more hygienic than carpet
Disadvantages: shows dirt quicker than carpet and can be noisier

...My friend has recently installed a new laminate floor. He did all the work himself, it only took him two days and was a third of the cost of a carpet. I thought of many reasons for him not to do it:- 1. The room would seem colder 2. It would scratch easily as they have 3 kids and a dog 3. It would start to lift if anything was spilled 4. It would not be comfortable to sit on. 5. It would be noisy 6. It would be harder to keep looking clean 7. There would be a lot of work involved Four weeks later I take it all back. The room doesn't feel colder at all, in fact the rich colour of the wood makes it look warmer. Quality Flooring

Advantages: Very quick and easy to lay
Disadvantages: Experience required for a top job!

...I recently laid quick step uniclic flooring in a relatives bedroom. This is the 12th laminate floor I have laid, 6 were glued boards and 6 have been click style boards, so I'm definitely qualified to speak on the subject! Background I've listed a con as 'experience required?; this may be slightly unfair as I would say it's true of all laminate floors, especially the cheaper ones. They will only look really good if they have been fitted really well. The quick step uniclic floor is however at the higher price range of laminate floors at around 13.99 per sq metre, so I would say it is slightly more forgiving when mistakes are made. When dealing with home improvements materials I tend to stick to the old saying, "you get what you pay for". I feel I've been proved correct with laminate flooring. Over the past few months I?ve tried all sorts of different floor wipes and found them all to be extremely disappointing. Until last week, however, the one I hadn?t tried was Mr. Sheen, so I bought some in a last ditch attempt to crack the problem. Here are my findings ?.. Mr. Sheen floor wipes come in a resealable plastic pack of 15 for around three quid, and they are readily available in most supermarkets. I?ve also seen them in cheaper places like Poundstretcher, where they are a little cheaper. They can be used on sealed wood, laminate, vinyl and glazed tiles. ...OK., before we start.. first thing to note is that Tundra Flooring is a laminate flooring and NOT real wood. Technical details: You can buy them from Ikea and they are ONLY delivered in packs. Each pack weighs 15 kgs and contains 9 planks. You can cover 2.39 sq. mts (25.8 sq.ft) with one pack. Each plank measures 138 cm x 19.3 cm; now you can make an approximate calculation of many planks or packs you would need to cover you floor. You will also get a guide sheet of how to lay the floor. Cost: When we bought the Tundra flooring there was a discount on all laminate flooring from Ikea. Hence, we got it a £15 per pack. You should always buy one pack more than what is necessary just to allow that human error. Review of Ikea Tundra Flooring

My new karndean floor

Advantages: warm, durable, practical
Disadvantages: expensive

...Bought 20sqm of Island Limestone Alderney Karndean flooring from DirectFlooring2U, had great service and the flooring is great. I've had laminate in my kitchen before but I couldn't mop it!!!!! It drove me mad. So i went to my local retailer who showed me this stuff. Its waterproof so i'm able to mop it, they even offer a range of cleaners that i use on both my laminate and my karndean it works really well and once again my kitchen is clean. Its also really quiet when i walk on it and warm to bear foot making it much better suited to English winters. The only problem was the one i liked was the dearest of the lot and although i saved a fortune (£400) by buying online it was still expensive for a floo. But then again I did pick the dearer one. I'm now saving to get the laminate replaced in my hall and i'm telling all my friends to do...
