Floorstanding speakers - best of the bunch !

Advantages: Sweet transparent sound, bi wireable, solidly built.
Disadvantages: None yet found !

...For several years I was a Tannoy fan - I just had to have that special "dual concentric" sound which is unique to Tannoy DC's. Since 1974, I have owned 3 different sets of Dual Concentric speakers, although I never aspired to the dizzy heights of a Westminster Gold setup (way too pricey !) However, when I upgraded from *just* a music system (CD, Tape, LP and Radio) to a full blown Home Cinema system, which needed a full blown 6.1 loudspeaker system - I had to admit defeat. The Tannoys had had their day, and it was time to move on. Decisions, decisions..... what to get..... ?? I visited several single room demo HiFi shops in Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Shrewsbury and other parts of the Midlands area. I took my time. Review of Acoustic Energy Aegis Evo Three Floorstanding Speakers

Impressive, good looking floorstanding speakers.

Advantages: Great Sound quality and volume, good looks, fine finish
Disadvantages: Need careful positioning and plugging to aviod bass domination, require a large room, can dominate aesthetically, need good cabling

HI-FI SPEAKERS THAT LOOK GOOD AND SOUND GREAT.

Totem arro floorstanding speakers

Advantages: Big sound from a small floorstander

...arro's which are small floorstanding speakers, they looked the business and were not overpowering in there pressence as i had had with some of the other speakers( to big, in yer face look at me speakers) these were small and very pleasing to the eye. We started the demo with some Eva cassidy ( live at blues alley ) This was an album my old missions seemed to have a bit of difficulty with, bass was just a tad on the heavy side, but with the Totems it just seemed to flow ( i closed my eyes and i could picture the bass player plucking the strings) it was a warm smooth sound, vocals seemed to be balanced and neutral , not bright like some other speakers i'd tried. Piano's sounded clear and precise, and everything seemed very tight and together. Pretty much everything i played through these speakers sounded great, but beware if you play poor...

Small Speakers, Small Sound

Advantages: Small, lightweight, can be used with any mp3 player

...I got these speaker is 2004 and they are still going strong. I have taken them on holiday, to school and they are now my computer speakers. They can be used about every where. Amazing peice of kit. ( been half way around the world) Hardley dented at all. Unlike normal computer speakers or portable speakers these include a small amplifier with the volume control and added "bass boost " controls. This is really great as the speakers can be on another shelf and the amplifier can be on your desk so you can control them without moving all the time. -The speakers- The speakers are really great quality and can deliver a vast range of tones easily.
