...I originally bought this external floppy drive a few years ago after the standard for laptops was not to have an inbuilt floppy drive already in them however at the time floppy disks were still in use from time to time. It doesn't mean that this can't be used for desktop computers that don't have internal floppy drives. ...Hiya sorry about the boredom about these floppy disks first the imation 3 1/2" floppu disks and now its those pesky 3M's. Right i am sorry to say that my other batch of imation floppy disks have run out. So i phoned my supplier and i was informed by the lovely lady called charlie that they had run out. So she did suggest i try the new 3M pack of 10 floppies. Right onto the product in hand: These are the worst floppy disks i have ever purchased, the colour black is the worst ever but i must agree that floppies are the same as any other floppies. These floppy disks are not pre-formatted so you would need to format them yourself which is really time consuming, especially if you have a really important report due in the next day for the bank as i did. All is well, you see the sheets of paper flying across and the progress bar moving along nicely but then suddenly *BEEP*. A small window pops up saying your disk is full! A standard floppy diskette these days can only store 1.44MegaBytes (or 1,044KiloBytes) of data. ...I would call these Imation 1.44Mb floppies. I recently brought these from my local Argos store in Hastings as my office equipment supplier said that i place my order too late for next day delivery. I came across these floppy disks in my catalouge near to the PC pages and said that all of the other packs of floppy disks have the same amount of space which is currently 1.44Mb of storage but these ones have colour co-ordination to them and the others have not. I asked the lady at the help desk and she said that the only thing about these ones is that colour coded ones are easier to identify so you wont need to bother about looking at the label ever again. ...This is a review on the PQI's USB 2.0 1GB 'Cool Drive' Travelling Disk. This product is very similar to my PQI 128MB Cool Drive Traveling Disk, which I've also reviewed, but with one BIG difference. The 1GB version of this drive holds A LOT more information than the 128MB could ever. Now what does 1GB mean? It's short for 1 GigaByte, which is 1,000 MegaBytes. Actually, the space shows up as 999MB but that's close enough. Now, if you've read my 128MB Cool Drive review, or at least seen the title, you'll know that 128MB stores roughly the equivalent of 88 floppy disks. Now the 1GB Cool Drive stores the equivalent of 694 floppy disks! Impressive, in'it? Now, the 1GB Cool Drive is practically identical to the 128MB Cool Drive. The drive is roughly the size of my thumb, it's metallic blue in colour with clear bits at the bottom and tip...

Most people go to their store and buy the first disks they see. Whilst this isn?t as bad a say, buying the first computer or graphics card you see, it will still have an impact. Buying the first or cheapest disks is not usually the best idea. The cheaper disks are of a very low quality, and despite saying ?Formatted? usually they need to be re-formatted a couple of times before they work that well. This is the first tablet I have used and I admit to be being impressed by both the concept and by Acer's ingenuity in combining notebook and tablet functionality. The processor is a Pentium III ULV 800. With 256MB of RAM and 30GB of hard disk space, the Windows XP tablet edition operating system works quickly and purposefully. The CD rom and floppy disk connect via the USB ports, of which there are two. There is also a firewire port! With both wired and wireless connectivity, I have used the machine with ease on our LAN. The only quirk here, is that you have to switch between the two manually with the use of a switch on the keyboard. The first impression of the machine is that it looks like a very small laptop.
