...Quite often in the summer I like to have family and friends around and have a BBQ, so that there is a nice atmosphere and lighting in the garden, I like to have candles around. On one of our regular visits to Ikea, I spotted the Rotara *What is it:* These are little lanterns which measure about 21cm high. It has 6 glass sides which have a couple of white little stars on each. One of the glass panels opens to allow you to put a tea light in, when you close the door there is a little latch on to stop the door from opening on its own. The lantern also has a little handle on the top. The lanterns are available in silver, white, black, red, pink blue and green and all cost £2.99. ...We wanted some new lights for our garden in case we are sitting out there after dark in the summer months. We like the solar powered ones as we don't have to worry about having wires trailing out there then. We had a look in our local Wilkinson store and found these lovely lanterns. The Product One lantern costs you £4.54 and it comes in a white square box. When we first picked up the box we were wondering how on earth a long lantern like the one on the photo on the box would fit inside this square block shaped box but we found out after opening it that the pole you fix into the ground is in two pieces which you connect together by screwing them together. Review of Wilko Solar Lantern

A cute little lantern fit for a toddler

Advantages: Novelty, Peppa Pig, Doubles as a night light
Disadvantages: Plastic may put off some but for me, means it is more durable

...Looking for stocking fillers at Christmas time was more difficult than we first thought and so looking through the aisles at a fairly large Boots store just seemed to take us forever. We had one more toy to choose to take advantage of the famous 3 for 2 they offer at Christmas time. It had to be a rough price of around £10 to fully take advantage of the offer. We saw a section full of Peppa Pig items (which my youngest daughter absolutely loves) and saw the magic lantern. I instantly knew she would like it and popped it into the basket. The magic lantern is brilliant and I think I have shown all of our family that visited at Christmas time! You would have thought I had bought it for myself!
