...POWER FM!!!!!! ok well power fm is the souths local radio station! it is the best station in the south! with funny and interesting programes on, in the morning there is power breakfast, in this show they do battle of the sexes, to see if the females or males r the best, it's very funny and is just there really for a laugh, on some evening they do the jukebox where u can fone in and request a song to be played, u can aslo come on the radio and say hi to ur friends and family, i think that power FM is the best radio station in the south and sould be played everywhere... ...Hallam FM is a storming radio station. Great music 24/7. With numerous top quality DJ's playing top quality music around the clock, Hallam FM is certainly a radio station to listen too. Hallam FM combines music, comedy, interactivity and great give aways to produce what is in my opinion the best radio station that is around at the minute. However, the recent departure of Daryl leaves me wondering are Hallam FM starting bit of a downhill slope. I haven't heard Hirsty in a while either, Are Hallam FM losing their top DJ's to other radio stations? Either way at the moment, Hallam FM is a top notch station.... Read review

Advantages: A local radio station for local people

...Lincs Fm has been going since around 1990 and has always been Lincolnshire's most popular Radio station for the whole family. When Lincs Fm first started they would be interacting with the community for the whole of Lincolnshire, and according to the Rajar figures (Radio listening figures) Lincs fm is one of the most listened too commercial Radio station in the UK. I think the main reason for this is mainly due to the fact Lincolnshire and Humberside have very little or choice in terms of local radio and only now are new community stations been launched. Please don't forget that Lincs Fm has huge areas with very populated areas such as Grimsby, Scunthorpe, and Lincoln. ...I have listened to Hallam FM all of my life as far back as i can remember. It is definitely the best local radio station. It has never failed to play the best tunes as their motto goes "today's best music, Hallam FM". It has also always had the best presenters and the best shows. The breakfast show has always been the highlight of the day on Hallam FM but now that Darryl Denham has left, the shows are now not as good as they were. They do however still have what was good about it, the music! They always have jokes on the radio station along with travel news, the usual news and of course music!... Read review

So if you are bemoaning the crackly reception of your old FM radio, the Mikomi FM DAB radio is a brilliant investment with fantastic value for money. ...I bought this radio for £50 expecting it to be cheap quality. However, when i got home and used the radio for the first time, i was amazed. Straight away it tuned in all the radio stations it could find. The choice of stations it can receive is excellent. There really is somethign for everyone with this radio. I get 38 stations where my old FM radio only gets 15. The sound quality is excellent. There really is no hiss, which is what FM really suffered from. However it can distort at very high levels, which is only to be expected for a radio with this size of speakers. Tuning the radio is very easy, once a scan has been done, you simply use the search buttons to scroll through the list of all the available stations, and press "select" on the one you'd like to listen to. The radio has 10 station presets which makes for even quicker... Read review

...95.8 Capital FM is sometimes narrated by Chris Tarrent, this is my favourite person that does this radio station. Chris Tarrant is on every morning throughout Monday to Friday. He hosts many competitions on the station. 95.8FM is the most popular station on the radio. They host charity fundraisers for causes such as the princes trust. Every year they host a concert in hyde park called party in the park, 100,000 go and it raises a lot of money. ...Radio Hallam is one of the best radio stations I have ever listened to, it beats Radio 1 and all the other big radio companies. It appeals to a wide audience, both young and old, it plays lots of modern chart music combined with lots of older records via the Hallam FM top 100 (100 best records voted for by the listeners). The DJ's are all really on the ball and witty and I love to listen to them both at home and in the car. Although I have never phoned in myself I like to listen to the phone in aired every evening. It enables listeners to phone in with opinions of things happening in the news, both locally and worldwide and is very interesting. The only thing I don't like about Hallam FM is the adverts which are played quite regularly.... Read review

...I listen to radio all the time as I do not watch TV. You would expect to hear music a couple of advert and the hourly news, but not with the New 96 Trent FM. I have now stopped listening to this radio station as all you hear is talking, adverts and the news and out of an hour slot, you will probably hear about 5 songs. Is this really a radio station? Trent FM have relaunched the radio station twice in the matter of 15 years as it is vital that they get the listeners into the show as they are a Independant Radio Station which are owned by GWR. The last relaunch was in 1995 when they were going on to the streets finding out what people expect from a radio station, and they advertised in The Nottingham Evening Post with questionnaires to fill in and send back to them. They listened to this for about six months as there were about 2 adverts... Read review

Advantages: Loads of variety, all sorts of different shows.
Disadvantages: Wee Fat Bob ends at 1am.

...Scot FM is available in the west of Scotland on 101.1fm and and 100.3fm, during in the morning they have a great breakfast show full of celebrity gossip, traffic and news updates and lots of great music, during the day the radio station continues it's long line of great music and has news updates on the hour. My favourite show begin every night at 10pm straight through until 1am it is a phone in show hosted by Wee Fat Bob, it is a hilarious show, ecspecially on friday nights AKA nutter night, when anybody who feels like it is welcome to come up to the radio station and join in the show, they do alll sorts of great competitions and I would strongly recommend this show and this radio station....
