Mikomi FM DAB Radio: A Cheap and Easy Alternative

...The Mikomi FM DAB Radio pretty much does exactly what it says on the packaging. Coming in a refreshingly simple yet stylish looking casing, the product looks professional, and the performance it delivers reflects that, with the reception and quality of sound both crystal clear. The radio also offers exemplary ease of use, with five possible preset stations, and an easy to navigate and clearly marked button system that manages to be self-evident and yet understated. What is more, all of this is offered for an astoundingly cheap price; at pretty much £25, this is the cheapest DAB digital radio that I am aware of on the market. So if you are bemoaning the crackly reception of your old FM radio, the Mikomi FM DAB radio is a brilliant investment with fantastic value for money. You aren't going to get any more out of it than that...

Wharfdale DAB/FM Digial Radio Alarm Clock

Advantages: none
Disadvantages: time freezes and then doesn't work, horrible alarm noise, not easy to use.

...Was given this last Christmas as a present. It isn't the easiest of clock radios to understand, the instructions aren't too bad, but trying to remember what to do each time you use it isn't easy, I find that I have to have the instructions to hand on each occasion. It has quite often had me wanting to throw it out of the window. The worst point about it is that for some unknown reason the time 'sticks' and the clock becomes un-useable, you have to unplug it to re-start it, I have taken it back for an exchange a couple of times, but to be honest I can't wait for next Christmas to a I can have another new one. BUYER BEWARE, DO NOT PURCHASE THIS CLOCK IF YOU WANT IT TO GET YOU UP IN A MORNING, THE TIME WILL HABVE PROBABLY FROZEN ON IT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT....

Review of Wharfedale DAB FM Radio

Century FM Rocks my Radio!!

Advantages: Fab music from 80's and 90's - fun and friendly DJ's
Disadvantages: Based in The North West ..so many things not relevant if not your area

Fab website where you can listen to the station, enter competitions and read up about you favourite presenters ... they never look like you imagine they would....be prepared for Tony Wrighton ... he is hot!! LOL Although Century FM is a station local to the North West area, I Love it, even though I am in South Cumbria, so whilst the traffic updates and local happenings are not relevant to me, the fab tunes and friendly banter more than make up for that. I have my DAB radio in the kitchen, Car radio and Hubby's Car radio all tuned in to Century FM. I urge you - Give it a go!!! You will love it! If you loved the 80's and 90's this is definitely the station for you, although they do play new release stuff too. ** UPDATE ** They have been having a massive change around at century...

My local Radio Station

...My local Radio Station. Let me tell you a bit about my local radio station. Based in Liverpool city centre in the most prominent of positions visible for miles around is what is now know as the Radio City Tower. Prior to Radio City taking over this venue a few years ago it had been left empty when the previous occupant vacated. Initially it was a revolving restaurant the top of a tower. Tower is cylindrical in shape and looks like it has a large flying saucer sitting on the top with radio antenna sticking up into the sky. Transmission coverage - North West and North Wales but if you do not live in the area you can always listen in on line. What do they do. Well they are a commercial radio station so there are always adverts between the songs but this is how they keep going and are able to grow every year into...

Birmingham's best radio station

Advantages: Eliott and Caroline

...BRMB is the local radio station for Birmingham. For me this is one of the best radio stations there is. It keeps you up to date with the news stories from within the UK as well as the ones around Birmingham. Not only that but it also gives you the lastest gossip on the celebrities. I love the Big brum breakfast thats presented by Elliott and Caroline from 6.00am to 9.00am. They are both really funny and spend most of the time taking the mick out of each other! I find myself laughing out loud on the way to work with some of the things they come out with! Through out the day I listen to BRMB at work and they have a good mixture of DJs all are funny and it seems they find the main role of their job to be to make you laugh! They also play a vairety of songs anything from pop to rock, and most of the time you can phone up to request...

Should it be Crapital FM

Advantages: Some good presenters, some good competitions
Disadvantages: Lack of music variety and too many adverts

...I used to think Capital FM was the bees knees. The idea of a radio Station for London is a great one. Howver, over the past couple of years the selection of music has gone completely downhill. If you're into current pop-chart music only, then that's ok - Capital is probably fine. But as to playing anything a little more grown up, forget it. In fact, even the selection of chart music they choose to play is pretty limited and seem to pick out just a few favourites from the top 40 and repeat them over and over again. If you are lucky enough to get on their playlist then you could probably retire from your royalties, and you're likely to get played at least once every 2 hours from what I have heard. It's a real shame because they like to think they are the radio station for the Capital, but the music just isn't representative...

...Just before Christmas my trusty but rather elderly portable radio gave up the ghost. I needed another one. But this was just before Christmas and my mind was on other things. Like Christmas shopping! Whilst wandering round ASDA in Telford for a number of Christmas presents my wife drew my attention to a small but very attractive silver-coloured radio. It boasted digital tuning (it is not a DAB radio, however) and three wave bands. One AM and 2 FM. It also has a built-in alarm clock function and a dial light of a rather nice amber/orange colour. I was amazed at the price. £6.95? Surely it can't be any good for that price? It was actually remarkably good! ...My local radio station is 102.7 Hereward Fm! This station is most definitely poor. From the annoying Australian accents of the evening DJ Sue Carter to over happy tones of Kev and Laura the morning crew to the annoying adverts that appear every 5 minutes and their annoying melodies that make your ears bleed. Hereward is not a station that I would recommend to people as often the same song is played 5 or 6 times a day in between the thousands of adverts that fill my head with corporate drivel if you ever get the chance to listen to this station – DON’T!...

...BRMB is based in Birmingham's Broad Street, probably the most famous and popular street for partying in Birmingham. They play funky up to date music throuout the day and every workday play a workplace anthem. The workplace anthem is nominated by workers listening during the day an the most popular will be mentioned and played for the relevant workers - just one way they interact with the listeners, which I think is quite good. The presenters are the sort of people that I can stand to listen to, unlike some of the other radio stations where they just get on my nerves! BRMB is a very birmingham friendly station, they will always play and support local sports, and even set up events in the area for local charity's such as "party in the park" which is always sold out and very popular. Here is the lowdown of the Pure 1500 handheld DAB Radio.
