Ford Focus 1.6 Zetec

Advantages: A great car from all angles
Disadvantages: Not as many extras included as I would have liked

...I am now the proud owner of a ford focus 1.6 zetec and for the first time in many years I have actually found a car that pretty muc suits all my needs. I have spent many a time in cars that are too big, too small, not suitable, not comfortable etc but this is everything I could ask for. I own the three door version but the doors open widely and when the front seat is moved forward there is plenty of room to get anyone in the back, even my mother in law who is disabled. The back of this car is extremely spacious, comfortably fitting 3 large adults in. The boot size is deceiving in that it looks pretty small but is very spacious indeed. Perfect for all those shopping bags as well as a childs pushchair. The actual drive of this car is superb. Mine runs on unleaded and is very economical. I can get over 200 miles to £35...

Ford Focus 1.6 - Shocking!!

Advantages: Handling and Looks
Disadvantages: Customer Service, Bodywork, Transmission...

...Two years ago I decided to buy a brand new car, and after much research I decided upon the Ford Focus 1.6 (old style now). Everything I had read pointed towards a really good choice. So I went into my local Ford dealer and a week later I had my nice new car. First thoughts were a good looking car, well built, fantastically smooth to drive, held the roads amazingly well. All of the equipment worked wonderfully well and I absolutley loved my new car. Then the problems began.... After two weeks the Airbag Modulator failed, so I went back to the dealer, and they replaced the faulty part within a few days. They wouldn't let me have a courtesy cat so was left hanging around the dealers for a few hours. All work was under warranty so no cost to me. Three weeks after the Modulator fault I was washing the car and noticed tiny rust spots...

Ford Focus 1.6 zetec

Advantages: handling, value for money, performance
Disadvantages: badge snobbery, plastic trim

...I drive a 2002 model of this Focus. I acquired it reluctantly from a family member a couple of years ago however I am very pleased with it. It looks quite bland to many but I think it's quite understated, which I like. I have had a few "sporty" cars over recent years but the handling of the Focus is better than any of them. Staying within the speed limits, on B roads it's really enjoyable and stays nice and flat round corners. When people talk about the handling I use to think that the average driver who uses a car to commute and go on family trips wouldn't really notice it much but I have to say I do. As for performance it drives well on motorways and has all the acceleration you'll ever likely to need. On top of that, the exhaust has quite a nice tone too. Loses it's punchiness if there are 2 adults in the back...

Focus 1.6 - A fun stylish serious car.

Advantages: Comfortable, spacious for passengers, driver and lugage. Nippy and stylish.
Disadvantages: Its not the ST170 and its not the RS.

...My 1.6 is one of the late early 2001 models and it is a pleasure to drive it was second hand and had two previous owners, I'm not sure how they treated it but when I picked it up it was in pristine condition which to me says that it is a fairly hardwearing car. Its smooth lines and contours make for a slightly sporty look as well as the memories of the Rally focus in all its glory tearing up the WRC. It is a very smooth ride with fantastic handling so if you are a little heavy on the peddle it has the strength to compensate. Acceleration is good and you through the range of the 5 speed gear box, and at the other end of the scale the brakes are hot too mine only has discs on the front and Drums on the back but there is plenty there to slow down the 125 horses that kick out of the engine. Ford Focus Flight 1.6 16v

...Thought i would write a review , since a couple of weeks ago i done something that i swore i would never do again and that was buy a new Ford Car. About 12 years ago i purchased a Ford Escort brand new from Ford and not only was the service dreadful but the car was a complete and utter bag of nails that wouldn't have pulled you out of bed in the morning never mind away from a set of lights !!. Anyway , have been pondering about purchasing a new car and despite liking the look of the Focus my previous experience with Ford stopped me from previously considering purchasing one. Lets Focus On The Zetec...

Advantages: Spaceous, Excellent Handling, Low Insurance Group, Comfortable and Stylish.
Disadvantages: Has the family stigma attached to it which does not do it justice.

...with 'sports' suspension which gives slightly stiffer springs but retains the ride quality. As a result, the handling on the zetec is outstanding and really grips the road around the twisties. The standard suspension setup makes the car run smoothly and is very quiet on the motorways compared to other cars I've driven. Power steering makes low speed manoeuvres and parking easy and the height adjustment is good for getting the position just right. The brakes on the 1.6 models consist of front disk brakes and rear drums. Some models were fitted with ABS, but not some of the earlier pre facelift models (pre 2001) so make sure you ask if it is included. 10/10 for the Ford Focus 1.6 Zetec Climate

...I bought my Ford Focus in August 2006. After many months of research I opted for the 1.6 zetec climate model. As a young mother with two small children I needed plenty of room in the back and a boot large enough to carry a pushchair as well as the weekly shop, I am happy to say that this car did not disappoint. Some other great features of this model are -The Heated front windscreen and mirrors which save me a lot of time in the mornings. -The CD player that comes as standard and can be controlled by a lever attached to the steering column, Sound quality is great and the speakers in the back are in the doors - so I can have the radio on without the speakers blaring down the babys ears. -The fuel consumption is a lot better than I expected for a car of it size. -The car is very stylish although very common...

...problem. Bodywork also needs looking after to prolong it's life as rust is a problem that is common with Ford's and I've seen many Focuses being eaten away at the rear arches. Rear legroom is a little on the tight side too....

clio1.2(debt free) to focus 1.6(mmm debt)

Advantages: heated windscreen, smooth ride, the fact that its not a clio(always good i find)
Disadvantages: its not as responsive as i thought it would be, got a big behind and not in a good way

...the ford focus is the most reliable car i've had, out of two. i've owned the car for just over a yr now and the only money i've shelled out was for the service, six months tax, and new brake pads(may have abused them slightly). so i can have no complaints espacially after my first car witch didn't have much going for it; if you can imagine driving around with a scarf held underneath the sunroof to stop it from leaking(i know you're screaming fix-it, but i'm so lazy) and a patched up paint job down the whole door from some t*t taking a key to it. specs of mee focus 1,6 zetec. 5 dr, petrol, heated windscreen, elec. windows, chunky ass cd player, lexus lights, 96 bhp(why not 100). the interior is quite good, nothing great. the zetec model has a silver finish on the centre console, it has.....wait for it 3 cup holders, a power output...

Ford Focus 2007 model

Advantages: Fantastic drive
Disadvantages: Fuel Consumption

...I have been driving one of these for a year now and think thats long enough to comment on the car. Firstly, the cost of this car when i picked it up was very reasonable. £8,000 for a two year old car with 15,000 miles on the clock is pretty good if im not mistaken. My work requires me to travel some distance every week and therefore, the car gets alot of use. The handling of the car is great! corners are smooth and you hardly move in the seat. Steering is very responsive and smooth which of course is to be expected nowadays but you never know :) Also on the overall performance of the car, the acceleration is pretty good too. I say this in regards to avoiding idiot drivers and 1 rogue sheep that ran straight at my car haha. In my opinion the looks of this car are fantastic. I personally had the windows tinted on it which completly...
