...Thought i would write a review , since a couple of weeks ago i done something that i swore i would never do again and that was buy a new Ford Car. About 12 years ago i purchased a Ford Escort brand new from Ford and not only was the service dreadful but the car was a complete and utter bag of nails that wouldn't have pulled you out of bed in the morning never mind away from a set of lights !!. Ford Focus 1.6 zetec

Advantages: handling, value for money, performance
Disadvantages: badge snobbery, plastic trim

...I drive a 2002 model of this Focus. I acquired it reluctantly from a family member a couple of years ago however I am very pleased with it. It looks quite bland to many but I think it's quite understated, which I like. I have had a few "sporty" cars over recent years but the handling of the Focus is better than any of them. Staying within the speed limits, on B roads it's really enjoyable and stays nice and flat round corners. When people talk about the handling I use to think that the average driver who uses a car to commute and go on family trips wouldn't really notice it much but I have to say I do. As for performance it drives well on motorways and has all the acceleration you'll ever likely to need. On top of that, the exhaust has quite a nice tone too. Loses it's punchiness if there are 2 adults in the back...

Ford Focus Edge 1.8 16v Zetec 3 Door.

Advantages: Sporty, comfortable, looks good.
Disadvantages: None.

I went for the sporty looking 3 door model in Machine Silver and the equipment included was very good. 16 inch alloys are standard on this model. The Cd player is very good and the sound quality is excellent. The driver, passenger and side airbags are a very good safety feature as are the anti-lock brakes. I was immediately impressed with the sure handling of the car and it corners like it's on rails! The speed and power of the car is also impressive. The power steering is light and responsive. Advantages: A great car from all angles
Disadvantages: Not as many extras included as I would have liked

...I am now the proud owner of a ford focus 1.6 zetec and for the first time in many years I have actually found a car that pretty muc suits all my needs. I have spent many a time in cars that are too big, too small, not suitable, not comfortable etc but this is everything I could ask for. I own the three door version but the doors open widely and when the front seat is moved forward there is plenty of room to get anyone in the back, even my mother in law who is disabled. The back of this car is extremely spacious, comfortably fitting 3 large adults in. The boot size is deceiving in that it looks pretty small but is very spacious indeed. Perfect for all those shopping bags as well as a childs pushchair. The actual drive of this car is superb. Mine runs on unleaded and is very economical. I can get over 200 miles to £35...

...I bought my Ford Focus in August 2006. After many months of research I opted for the 1.6 zetec climate model. As a young mother with two small children I needed plenty of room in the back and a boot large enough to carry a pushchair as well as the weekly shop, I am happy to say that this car did not disappoint. Some other great features of this model are -The Heated front windscreen and mirrors which save me a lot of time in the mornings. -The CD player that comes as standard and can be controlled by a lever attached to the steering column, Sound quality is great and the speakers in the back are in the doors - so I can have the radio on without the speakers blaring down the babys ears. -The fuel consumption is a lot better than I expected for a car of it size. -The car is very stylish although very common...

Well Worth Considering

Advantages: Reasonably Fast, Excellent Handling, Looks Good, Practical
Disadvantages: Fuel Economy on short journeys

...I bought the car in January, I wanted something with a bit of power and reasonable insurance costs having looked at different manufacturers and models, the Focus fitted the bill perfectly. Only being 20 and having the insurers nightmare job of being a mechanic means the insurance is just under a grand fully comprehensive. However this car is brilliant, it has enough power to go past most things and will easily cruise above the national speed limit, the handling is excellent, throw it into a corner and it will go round. Even when parking, the car is very manoeuvrable. Fuel economy is good on long journeys, round town it can suffer a little.
