The Mighty Mars Bar

...This is perhaps the most classic chocolate bar from my childhood. It has long been my favourite as a kid and I sort of have to say it still is so as not to feel as if I have disowned it (sorry Mars Bar but I have found other favourites - I still love you though!). 'A Mars a day helps you work rest and play' - this was the little catchphrase that was associated with Mars Bar. Funny really; it's like saying a chocolate bar a day is good for you. The slogan has now changed to 'Pleasure you can't measure' which definitely seems more appropriate. A standard Mars bar comes at 58g, about 11cm long and 1.8cm high. You'll pay about 32p for this bar in supermarkets which is well below the norm of 50p. ...What! Only 10 foods? Of all the MILLIONS/ BILLIONS of food products out there we can only pick 10? Well, I suppose you'd get bored by my 100th or so one..or tenth... In no particular order; let's begin 1. Fish -Smoked Haddock, Salmon, Cod, sea bass or tuna. Haddock is delcious in a pitta bread with scrambled egg or haselback potatoes. Salmon fillet is divine if you top it with mayo, crushed seasoned cornflakes with garlic and then drizzled with a cheese sauce. Smoked salmon slices mixed into mash with cheese spread! emm. And tuna, mix it with onion and some chutney to get fish fruity. Make your own fish pie or chop it up into an omelete. Fish is sooo nutritional, versatile and delcious. Not a fan of sardines, herring; trout and the lark, or with heads and eyes still on! Prawns - league of there own. Nice just out the pack...

...I bought a pack of these as it was 100% extra - 16 bars for the price of 8 and the fact that I thought they would be a treat for my daughter in her lunch box. She sometimes moans that she has too much fruit! I can't remember how much I paid for them, I could guess but I won't bother as I could be way out. I was feeling a little bit peckish one afternoon so I though I would try one, they are all individually wrapped when you open the main packet . 'Cookie bars' what does that mean to you?? Or what do you expect?? To me it means moist crumbly biscuit with lots of chocolate chips in.
