...I am Legend was the 2007; sci- fi horror adapted from the 1954 Francis Lawrence, and a remake of the classic The Omega Man. The film starred Will Smith, in what was to be his first horror film. Opening in late 2007, the film grossed well over $500 million worldwide. Having heard mixed reactions to the film I figured I had to watch it for myself to see what all the fuss was about, having not see the Omega Man, I am Legend was a totally new film for me, I didn't no what to expect and didn't no the general backdrop of the film. The Stuff Of Legends

Advantages: Simple writing style that allows the plot to flow and the pages to be turned
Disadvantages: One slightly weaker character in the first half of the book.

Absolute Legend

Advantages: Amazing gameplay, graphics, storytelling, in jokes.
Disadvantages: Zelda fans may take a bit of getting used to the layout!

I Am Legend - Wasn't legendary for me!!!

Advantages: Some good moments of suspense. Good scene setting.
Disadvantages: Lost it's story to some daft horror scenes.

Advantages: Depth and challenge remain, but so much simpler for the time conscious!

A Legend Is Born!

Advantages: Excellent writing style, frenetic pace, superb characters, shorter than most fantasies
Disadvantages: Perhaps not massively inventive, narrative can switch quickly among many characters

...My good friend and fellow-writer GildorInglorion knows a thing or two about books - and more specifically, about the fantasy genre from which seemingly no major work has escaped him. A little while ago, he gave me a copy of 'Legend' to borrow. Before I had the chance to read it though, it emerged that author David Gemmell had died.
