...It's going to be heavier. It's going to sound just like Meshuggah. They're dabbling in numerology. Danny Carey's taken his drumming to a new level entirely. It's going to be like nothing you've ever heard before from Tool. So much talk. So many questions. So perhaps it's inevitable that 10,000 Days showcases a band in stasis. This is still the exact same band who made Lateralus, and to an extent, Aenima. Tool haven't changed at all in the four years between this and its predecessor. Disappointing? Not really. Who bought into all the talk, anyway? Surely we've all learnt by now that the majority of the talk surrounding Tool is guff. If we hadn't, then all the cries that the leak was a fake surely proved it. Seemingly, some Tool fans will do anything to prove that they know the band better than every other Tool fan does...

...10,000 BC. = A visually stunning adventure through sabre tooth infested lands. The movie centres around D'Leh who makes friends with a young stranger brought to his village. Her name is Evolet and their destinies are now entwined. One day, many years later, Evolet is abducted by roaming Warlords and taken across the continent, across jungles, waste lands and frozen tundra?s. D'Leh sets out to find her, rescue her and hopefully marry her. To be honest there really is no more to the plot of the film. It is about love, (of course), Adventure, war, treasures, friends and revenge. The thinness of the plot is more than made up for the stunning graphics which are truly superb. Advantages: GREAT CGI
Disadvantages: NOTHING NEW

...10,000 BC. The story is basically a love story with a sabre tooth tiger thrown in and set against the backdrop of a war. One day a blue eyed girl called Evolet is found and brought to a far outlying village in the icy wastes. Our hero, D'Leh of course falls for her just as the village is attacked by marauders. D'Leh sets off to track her down and save her whilst along the way he is befriended by a sabre tooth tiger, Fights evil spirits and becomes the leader of a vast army. That's about it for the actual ploy. The acting is just OK, but the CGI is in a league of its own. It really is something to see. The music and bass sounds are again top notch. 10,000 BC - The CGI is the star

Advantages: Visually Stunning.
Disadvantages: Same old Same.

...10,000 BC. This will be a short review which is what this film deserves. From the director of 'Independence Day' and 'The Day After Tomorrow' comes a film that is visually stunning. The film starts with D'Leh as a young boy, when hunters return having found a young girl with blue eyes, Evolet The witch of the village predicts that soon Warlords will come and attack the village. She also forcasts that the man, who the blue eyed girl choses as her husband, will save the village. Evolet is taken by the warlords and D'Leh sets off on a quest that will involve love, honour, spirits, adventure, death, redemption and salvation. Oh and along the way he will pick up an army. The acting is not the best, but I suppose playing someone just above a caveman doesn't need Noel Coward. The commentary that comes at intervals is...

10,000 BC far fetched to be historically accurate

Advantages: Interesting anthropological comparison
Disadvantages: Long film

...10,000 BC. I watched this film last night after a colleague had been saying how interesting the film was. From an anthropological view point the film is interesting because it shows the great difference between different cultures. It starts off with a supersticious tribe who hunt mammoths and they live in stick shelters. All except a couple of this tribe fall into the hands of another tribe which rides horseback and trades in slaves to a much more developed nation which builds pyramids and has organised religion. The remaining men of the tribe pursue the slave traders and raise an army, and ofcourse encounter a few dinasours on the way. I do agree with other reviews of this film, that it was a bit obsurd in one part where a sabre tooth tiger did not eat the main hero of the film, but this film is a fictional tale anyway...

...'Total Wipeout' is the brand new wacky show from the BBC. It is shown on Saturdays at just before the peak time, at 5.30pm. The show is hosted by BBC Topgear presenter Richard Hammond and Enterainments Tonignt's Amanda Byram. The games is based on strength, agility, wit and a bit of luck. You need to be pretty fit to go on the show and the prize : £10,000! So what is the show about? The first show was aired only two weeks ago (on the date review is written) on the 9th of January 2009. Every week, there are 20 contestants try it out and have to be the quickest or the first ones to reach the finishing line. The challenges are difficult obsticle courses, which get more difficult as the game progresses. One Mammoth Turkey

Advantages: Occasional flashes of excitement, visually impressive

...This is a Film only review '10,000 BC' is not an experience that will live long in the memory. As an action / adventure it was supposed to have my companion and I on the edge of our seats, carried away by the thrill of the story or wide eyed at the effects. Unfortunately, I was caught in a state somewhere between comatose and occasional laughter. My friend enjoyed the film but she is one of those rare, saintly folk who can glean pleasure from even the most miserable of experiences. Her 'glass being half full' even when it is bone dry, you could put her in front of 'Waiting for Godot' - with Ant and Dec in the roles of Vladimir and Estragon, while Timmy Mallet cameos as Pozzo - and she would still be loathe to criticise. But in the case of '10,000 BC' could she be right? The Story I will not divulge too...
