...Eternal - Power of a Woman One of my favourite girl bands from old were Eternal (this is probably showing my age a bit but oh well). They were popular before The Spice Girls, Girls Aloud etc and I think one of the reasons why they were successful was because they could actually sing and had some lovely harmonies, with beautiful voices that all worked well together. They were also all very pretty as well so I'm sure this added to their success. Eternal were formed in 1992 and eventually ceased as a band around the year 2000. The group consisted of four members, Easther and Vernie Bennett who were sisters, Kelle Bryan and Louise Nurding. Easy Going Woman

...Well, I decided to treat my wife to a visit to Lloyd-Weber?s latest ?epic? ? the ?Woman in White? last night which was an interesting but sadly disappointing experience. Having seen a few of his previous shows ? Cats, Starlight Express, Joseph, Phantom, Sunset Boulevard, I had thought that the quality was improving, and his shows are usually entertaining if nothing else, so I was looking forward to a pleasant evening and forked out for 2 top price tickets. Quel erreur! Based on the novel by Wilkie Collins, the show is supposed to be a mysterious, suspenseful psychological thriller, which the press quotes would have you believe is a well written masterpiece full of lush romantic melodies. To be fair ? one should always ignore the press quotes though. For example the quotes from the Telegraph are:- 1) "Big, lush romantic melodies...

An Okay Woman

Advantages: Some nice performances, a witty script and marvellous costumes

Woman & Home Magazine

Advantages: Hand-bag sized; crammed with articles; focus on real women
Disadvantages: Not as glamourous or escapist as some other women's magazines

...I have never bought this magazine before but it has just launched a new handbag-sized edition and I was travelling so thought I would give it a try. To begin with I liked the fact that it had a 'real woman' on the cover. A likeable breakfast TV celebrity who is not a size zero but who looked great in a glamorous dress. That seems to sum up the Woman & Home approach - glamorous but realistic lifestyles for women in their thirties upwards. It is crammed with features, all of which are fairly brief and easy to read in one go. I would just say that the handbag size perhaps limits it a little as I was interested enough in some articles to have wanted a bit more depth, and to wish that they were longer.
