...this is a bit of a Ford trait and is easily fixed by sticking it down again. Surely they could just use stronger glue to start with? This is a minor point and really hasn't detracted from what I have found to be an excellent car. Sorry if this sounds like a Ford Focus advert, but I really am converted. If Jeremy Clarkson (who has the same view of the old Fords as I did admits to liking these cars they must be good! Definitely recommended as a cheaper option than other cars in the same class....

Ford Focus 1.6 Zetec

Advantages: A great car from all angles
Disadvantages: Not as many extras included as I would have liked

...I am now the proud owner of a ford focus 1.6 zetec and for the first time in many years I have actually found a car that pretty muc suits all my needs. I have spent many a time in cars that are too big, too small, not suitable, not comfortable etc but this is everything I could ask for. I own the three door version but the doors open widely and when the front seat is moved forward there is plenty of room to get anyone in the back, even my mother in law who is disabled. The back of this car is extremely spacious, comfortably fitting 3 large adults in. The boot size is deceiving in that it looks pretty small but is very spacious indeed. Perfect for all those shopping bags as well as a childs pushchair. The actual drive of this car is superb. Mine runs on unleaded and is very economical. I can get over 200 miles to £35...

Ford Focus 1.6 - Shocking!!

...Two years ago I decided to buy a brand new car, and after much research I decided upon the Ford Focus 1.6 (old style now). Everything I had read pointed towards a really good choice. So I went into my local Ford dealer and a week later I had my nice new car. First thoughts were a good looking car, well built, fantastically smooth to drive, held the roads amazingly well. All of the equipment worked wonderfully well and I absolutley loved my new car. Then the problems began.... After two weeks the Airbag Modulator failed, so I went back to the dealer, and they replaced the faulty part within a few days. They wouldn't let me have a courtesy cat so was left hanging around the dealers for a few hours. All work was under warranty so no cost to me. Three weeks after the Modulator fault I was washing the car and noticed tiny rust spots...

...A car I have the pleasure of owning. A good little practical car that has a good balance of economy and performance. I get about 40-45MPG, depending on the road's I'm driving and isn't what I'd call sluggish. My car is the LX model that comes complete with air conditioning, which I must say doesn't have much of an affect on fuel consumption. It's a nice comfy drive with good suspension that seems to float over small bumps. Decent standard radio too that is easy to use. Road handling in my experience with the car isn't perfect but I'm blaming this on the rubbish budget tyres that have been installed at some point before I purchased the car as I often find the car beginning to understeer in wet conditions more than my old Ford Sierra, which I thought was pretty terrible for handling in the wet but oversteer was the Sierra's main...

Ford Fiesta

Disadvantages: Not much space on the back seats but its a fiesta not a limo.

...The Ford Fiesta 1.25 is a great car, ford first brought the 1.25 zetec fiesta out in 1996 on the mk4 fiesta, and from that day they put zetec engines in all the fiesta they brought out. The fiesta is still one of the best reliability and cheap car today. The 1.25 engine is a nippy car and is great for young students who what to drive and buy their first car, but also older people who would like a cheap car. i've got a fiesta 1.25 zetec and never had no problems with it so far. In my opinion the Ford fiesta zetec-s 1.6 engine is the best car and would love to have one soon as i saved lots of money up. The space in the fiesta could be limited for some people but for me there is plenty of room being on my own. with a fiesta you have to get power streering because its so much easyer than not having it. makes life so much...

  Ford's KA - Luxury

Advantages: Great economy, luxury trim, cute car

...I wanted Mrs mfhome to get an MGF or something more "fun" but I wasn't too worried when she decided on a Ford Ka, I'd always liked the styling and her choice of the luxury model meant that I would have all the extras to play with too. The Ka has been a popular little motor since 1996, ours is the Luxury model which we bought new on 51 plates in 2001. The car had great looks with its colour coded bumpers and mirrors, alloy wheels and metallic paint - I think these features are extra cost options on the other models. I don't suppose that they're necessary on this car as it looks good in standard trim. However, given a free choice between a car that is colour coded and one that is not I prefer the colour coded. 10/10 for the Ford Focus 1.6 Zetec Climate

...I bought my Ford Focus in August 2006. After many months of research I opted for the 1.6 zetec climate model. As a young mother with two small children I needed plenty of room in the back and a boot large enough to carry a pushchair as well as the weekly shop, I am happy to say that this car did not disappoint. Some other great features of this model are -The Heated front windscreen and mirrors which save me a lot of time in the mornings. -The CD player that comes as standard and can be controlled by a lever attached to the steering column, Sound quality is great and the speakers in the back are in the doors - so I can have the radio on without the speakers blaring down the babys ears. -The fuel consumption is a lot better than I expected for a car of it size. -The car is very stylish although very common...
