Ford have never made a supermini this good. One important tip though is to only buy the very punchy 1.6tdci. The 1.4tdci is slow and actually worse on fuel economy in comparison to the bigger but slightly more frugal 1.6tdci. Cracking value for money...

Advantages: Cheap, Fast, Good quality, Good handling... Disadvantages: Can be prone to rust, like all other MK3's
Otherwise, if you're looking for a car that get s you from a-b fairly safely, quickly and in style for a budget (as you can pick up a good example for about £1500 nowadays) the Fiesta 1.6Si is the car for you. Cheap to maintain and look after, service, and repair, you can't find a better, cheap hot hatch.
Take time out to look for the later models with power steering and oval side repeaters...
