FORD FUSION 1.4 TDI
Advantages: FUEL CONSUMPTION
Disadvantages: BOOT SPACE LIMITED
...The Fusion?s no ball of fire, but it?s happy enough in town. Both petrol engines need working hard and the 1.4 can struggle out of town, particularly when laden. The 1.4 diesel?s low-down pull makes it the easiest engine day to day, there?s also a new 1.6 diesel. The 1.4 petrol can be specified with Ford?s Durashift automatic gearbox.
The Fusion is based on the Fiesta but it isn?t as good to drive. It still handles better than many superminis and it steers fluently, but the raised ride height means there?s more lean through bends and the ride is even firmer.
Neither of the petrol engines is particularly smooth at high revs, a fact which is exaggerated because they need working so hard. The 1.4 diesel is more settled at speed, but offensively noisy and rattly around town. The Fusion?s cabin is noisy at motorway speeds ? you?ll find...

Ford Fusion
Advantages: Has a Lot of room
Disadvantages: Small Boot, £1.05 per litre
...a diesel and prices are just rising fast, currently the average per litre is £1.05.
Overall I think this is a good car for an experienced driver to use but if you are new to driving I strongly urge you steer clear
Can be purchased at a price of £9195 at:

Ford Fusion 2 - a car for all seasons
Advantages: Easy to drive, park, get in and out of
Disadvantages: Road noise
...The Ford Fusion comes in three models, imaginatively named 1, 2, and 3, however as the newness of the model wears off evocative names will be inevitably be invented in an attempt to sell more units.
Various engines are available for each of the three models but the subject of this review will be the Fusion 2 with a 1.4 TDCi engine, for those out there who like to know what the letters mean. Turbo Diesel, Common Rail Fuel Injection.
As the name of the car suggests, the Ford Fusion is a car which attempts to provide the benefits of two common models of car. Based on the Ford Fiesta chassis this car purports to be a ?fusion? between a family hatch and a MPV.

Ford escort 1.4 LX 1991
Advantages: Cheap on parts, cheap on road tax, cheap and chearful
Disadvantages: Poor handling, sluggish, prone to rust.
...(sounding a horn type alarm under the bonnett) and immobilser. These are activated from a senser behind the drivers door lock, some have a "chipped key" that is sensed by the car as it is inserted into the ignition switch, generally recognised by a red dot on a fat key.
Rear seats can be folded down to provide a very large carrying space.
Interior fittings are a bit on the cheapo side, but are very functional.
*** General***
The 1.4 ( CVH ) type engine will provide enough performance for general round town cut and thrust nightmare driving of today, will keep up with the flow of traffic no probs'.
On long journeys, ( which I've done in this car ) legal motorway speeds are no problem. It will cruise all day long to where ever you want to take it.
If you push its limits in the twisty stuff, you'll find it will understeer ( you turn it...

Ford Fiesta 1.4 16v - Brilliant small car
Advantages: Great handling, nippy, good fuel consumption, good features
Disadvantages: Slightly smaller boot than competitors, rear seats don't fold flat
...I have owned my Ford Fiesta 1.4 16v since last June. My particular model is a 3dr, which is more rare in this Ghia specification.
Features include:
- Leather seats
- Air Condition
- CD player
- iPod connection (optional extra)
- Automatic lights
- Automatic windscreen wipers
- Electric folding wing mirrors
- 6x2 Spoke 15" alloy wheels
- Front fog lights
- Chrome effect front grill
- Trip/MPG/Miles to empty computer
- Steering wheel height adjustment
Technical points
- Petrol
- 5 speed gearbox
- Insurance group 5
- CO2 147 g/km - £125 tax a year
- 12,500 mile service intervals
- 80 BHP
- 0-62: 12.3 secs
- 45 litre fuel tank
The car is a great little run around in town, and is very easy to park. Through 1st, 2nd and 3rd it is very nippy, so is the perfect town car. However, it also holds up well on the motorway, accelerating well in...

Ford Fiesta Ghia 1.4 TDCi
Advantages: Economy, size, running costs, equipment
Disadvantages: Acceleration
... Ford Fiesta Ghia 1.4 TDCi 5dr
Background I have owned my 2004 Ford Fiesta 1.4 TDCi since it was 6 months old and have traveled at the time of writing (OCT 2007) 25000 miles though the car has done 30000 in total. The car lacks in one area, which is acceleration, however, this does not detract from a 5-star rating because if you're purchasing a diesel at this price point you should be doing it for the excellent economy - not for super fast performance...
The Drive The car is great fun to drive, and surprisingly nippy round town, the handling feels safe and secure and corners neatly. It is not a performance hatchback so don't expect to be 'burning-off' your average family saloon on a head to head, however the car has a respectable top speed (102mph) and cruises quite nicely on motorways at 70. Not as smooth as larger...

Ford Fiesta Zetec 1.4 TDCi 5dr
Advantages: Cheap to run, Zetec handles really well
Disadvantages: Bit plasticy inside, can get rattly.
...I have a 2002 Ford Fiesta Zetec 1.4 TDCi 5dr in red. Over 60MPG, very low insurance and cheap tax. Beware of the first batch in 2002 that didn't have the CO2 tweaked so yours paying £120 tax when the exact same car released months after is only £35 a year to tax. Very annoying! The Zetec has superb handly and most of the time feels very nippy with good pull in higher gears on motorways. It seems a lot nippier than it's 68HP would suggest. I fill it up once a month and I'm driving about 25 miles a day to work and back and pottering around at weekends. The car has a couple of annoying rattles from the slightly cheap interior build quality but there are a nice number of storage compartments and the cabin feels pretty good standard. Seats are comfy and there is plenty of room in the car. I am 6ft 2 and my left knee does sometimes rub a bit...

Ford Escort : 'Not A Bad Car'
Advantages: Cheap to run, plenty of room, 5 seats, good first car, cheap parts, widely available, large boot
Disadvantages: no power steering, slow going up a steep hill
...The 1.4 Ford Escort is quite a car in many ways. Featuring 5 doors, a large boot and a sun roof, this spacious car certainly has all the features. It pretty much has everything you find in a standard car, except power steering which can make moving when stationary a hard task.
Being quite an old car means the Ford Escort is an ideal first car because the insurance is only around £60-£70 a month for someone aged 20-22. I was fully insured for my first year, as this is when most people have a few minor scrapes and bumps as they're new to the road. Then I moved onto third party fire and theft for my second year, as I had gained good experience and confidence from driving solidly for a year. The insurance came down to around £50 a month for my second year of driving.
The windows are manual along with the doors, which require a key to open...

Powered By Fusion
Advantages: Modern, Spacious, Fast
Disadvantages: Er, expense, if I must think of one
...rain, the sort of rain where you can't see more than 100 yards ahead and the road seems to have a 1 foot carpet of water because the rain is bouncing up so high. When it wasn't chucking it down, it was sunny, and my windscreen became a cemetery for several families of insects. I push in the end of the level, squirting 4 jets onto the windscreen. What would I do now in my other car? Turn on the wipers? Ha! Not in this modern mobile, it KNOWS you want to wipe away the grim death you see before you. They come on automatically a few times. Then they wait a little bit, maybe 3 or 5 seconds. Then they come on again just to clear away any dribbly bits that have come down from the roof. This really impressed me! Ford has put some serious thought into this car.

ford fusion
Advantages: practical, comfortable, good petrol economy
Disadvantages: niggly fault and rattles
...Hi,
I've owned this Fusion for almost 3 years now and will be part exchanging it soon so I thought as a final goodbye I would review it. It hasn't been a bad car but it has its faults and bad points.
I had this car from new and I chose a dark metallic grey.
The first fault developed within a coupe of weeks. It started eating CDs and wouldn?t eject them so it had to go to the garage for a new CD unit - an all day job as the whole fascia needs to come out.
The second fault was a couple of months after. The steering wheel started to peel- like a bad case of sunburn. Back to the garage it went for a new steering wheel.
Its 3rd fault was about 10 months from purchase. The electric windows stopped working in the fully open position. Luckily the dealer was open when this happened and they managed to shut them but it had to go...
