Ford's KA - Luxury

Advantages: Great economy, luxury trim, cute car
Disadvantages: A bit slow

...been a tiny bit bigger without any cost to space and this would have made them useful. There is a glove box (a dashboard tray with a pull out cover) that will hold? well, we use ours for gloves and thats about all it will take. Some rear storage for the car breakdown info and a CD storage case and that's about it. The instrument panel info is speed, fuel, time and nothing much else - what else would you need? I sometimes think a temp gauge would be nice as I like to know the car has warmed up before I start to speed up my driving in the morning. However, the heater is a good indication of this in winter. I think the minimalist approach actually makes this car smarter. This is what the Ka is about. In the luxury you get a good set of extras, power heated mirrors, leather trimmed steering wheel, CD Radio (Ford own design), 2 speakers...

Ford KA 1.3

Advantages: Looks, Interior, Reliabilty (besides airbag)
Disadvantages: Airbag, pre1998 cars, back space.

...The Ford KA, officially an icon for Ford. The Ka was introduced in 1996 and my girlfriend bought the 1998 KA 1 model as her first car. It was obviously a 3-door model (the only option) but it was in a weird colour, it looked like brown, grey and silver mixed into one, but it was listed in the logbook as grey. The KA was originally designed to only have black plastic bumpers so in the event of a minor crash they could easily and cheaply be replaced. This model has the black bumpers, but having done 72000miles upon purchase they had done a feint grey colour and although the black bumper/trim polish is easy and cheap to buy from Halfords or anywhere, I would recommend (if you can afford it) to buy a colour coded one as they just look better and don?t have to be repainted even if the car doesn?t need it- as the black ones do. FORD KA

Advantages: fits in my garage!
Disadvantages: small engine

...I never really understood why they named this car a Ka. Sooo much confusion... but, like any celebrity offspring it needed something kooky. And so the Ka was born. We bought ours in 1998, fairly soon after they came onto the market, and it's a car I've grown up in and learned to drive in. So what it it? Well it's a three door hatchback, ladybird in shape, which seats four. Very cute, apparently designed by a woman. Ford Ka 1.3 1999

Advantages: looks, small, easy to use
Disadvantages: space

...I was bought this car when i passed my test. I have had my car for about two months and since then i have found the car to have good points about it and also some bas points. Space: The ford KA is a small car but in the front i have found that it is enough space with myself in it but not with me and my boyfriend in it as his arm and legs is always in the way of me changing gears and the glovebox is well too small. The back of the car is small but not as small as i heard it would be, i can fit my sons pram in the back also a baby car seat and still have some room. The boot is okay is suppose i have had to buy a small pram to fit in the boot. My Ka Design

Advantages: A totally lush cheap little car
Disadvantages: Bit of a horror to park

...I bought this two and a half weeks ago. I have never been a fan of petrol cars, as I think diesels are far easier to drive. But I took a second hand one our from our local dealer and fell in love with it. On return to the dealer, Fords 'Summer of Love Promotion' was nearing a close and this meant I could get a brand new unregistered on for very little more. Also was three years free servicing. It also meant getting a better spec. The 'Design' is a little bit more girlie than the standard Ka, by having a diamonte stud in the gear knob. It has a blue gear knob, a blue cuff around the gear stick and a gorgeous blue stearing wheel. The 'Design' also comes with electric windows, central locking and a CD player. Whilst the Ka basicaly comes with manual windows, normal locking and a tape deck. Please! Do we still use...

You Can In A Ka

Advantages: Fun to drive. VERY distinctive looks. Good handling. A very practical and easy to drive car.
Disadvantages: Not a lot of extras. A "girly" image. restricted choice of engines and specifications.

MY KA2

Advantages: fun to drive, cheap insurance, low cost driving
Disadvantages: not much legroom in the back

...was the best buy i have ever made. The KA gives you a good ride, it handles the road well as the design of it is quite squat giving it a good sense of sturdiness. There is obviously more legroom in the front than in the back, although i have had a 6'1 friend in the back without any complaints. I would say that the KA2 is probably a better second hand buy than a KA1 because you get all the extras for not very much more money, it will also hold its value better. The downside of the KA is that it is small, although having compared it to a Mini recently , it has more boot space and because it has a domed roof you get a sense of it being more roomy. The other disappointment is that i understand the bubble has burst for Fords love affair with the KA, apparently they have designed a new baby that looks just like a fiesta but smaller. How...

Ford Ka-No Thanks

Advantages: Comfortable to drive
Disadvantages: Poor visability,not much luggage space or room in the back seats

...As we had no car we had to hire a car to go to Torquay on holiday. The cheapest one available to us was the Ford Ka at £160 for the week. I wasn`t too happy when I found out what car I was getting as I think they look odd and ugly and I have always seen them as a bit of a "girls" car but I had been a passenger in one before and found them quite comfortable so I was willing to give it a chance. I think one of the factors that make them ugly are the contrasting black bumpers but on this car they were the same colour as the rest of the body so it didn`t look too bad. At 6`1" I had to push the drivers seat as far back as it would go and still found it a little bit cramped for my legs. I Ka-n't really fault the Ford Ka

Advantages: Nippy, fun to drive, power-steering, cheap to run and insure
Disadvantages: Limited space in the back, quite a small boot, heavy doors

Ford KA - not just for girls - it's for punks too!

Advantages: Tardis-like interior, fuel economic, low premium, good extras inc CD player etc
Disadvantages: Can pull and lacks torque at times

We were going to fix the Mini when it failed its MOT but decided to sell it and buy a new car. We looked around for a while, not really sure of what to buy.
