It keeps on going...
Advantages: Fuel economy, insurance, reliability, comfort, running costs
Disadvantages: Warranty, parts availability
...I was after) and so signed right there and then to buy the Ghia, subject to finance
I decided to obtain a bank loan quote and the total to pay was less than the dealerships offer so returned a week later with my bankers draft
The dealership was unable to obtain the 12 month RFL and so returned the car with its "old" RFL, which in effect gave me a month free! They called three weeks later asking me to bring the V5 in for them to swap the tax discs
The first three weeks were almost uneventful
I visited my local Ford dealership for Ford Mondeo fabric mats and a storage box (none in stock, and arrived 4 days later)
The first trip was to Reading, and I noticed the back-illumination for the CD player was flickering
The TDCi has 12,500 mile service intervals and 6 weeks after purchase I was there...
During April the rear number plate...

Three years of very satisfied motoring
Advantages: Comfortable, smooth, safe, almost faultlessly reliable
Disadvantages: Erratic fuel consumption, dealers don't give a flying whatsit...
...After almost three years and just under 58,000 miles, it is time to share my thoughts on my Mondeo 2.0TDCi 115 (Euro IV) Ghia hatch.
RELIABILITY
Practically flawless. Mechanically, it has never skipped a beat, and there were not even any mechanical wrinkles to be ironed out when I first got it. The only reasons I describe it as "practically flawless" are a minor squeak that has developed on the dashboard over the last six months or so, a fault with the stereo that required replacement under warranty (that's a Sony product, not Ford), and a slight rumble from the rear wheel bearings at speed, which I understand is a common and minor flaw.
SAFETY
Ford's "Intelligent Protection System", which links the airbags, seatbelts and steering column together to reduce the likelihood of injury in the event of a crash, has thankfully...

A diesel with plenty of power
Advantages: Good Fuel Economy for a large car
Disadvantages: It's a rep car
...This is my second Mondeo and I have gone for the 130PS version of the TDCI my previous was a 115PS.
The Mondeo is a large car, it can comfotably take a family of 5, the size also makes it an easy drive on the motorway where I do most of my driving. The handling is very good corners are taken with ease and the power steering makes parking a pleasure, the cruise control also makes life more relaxed.
The new TDCI common rail diesel engine delivers 130bhp and this combined with the six speed gear box makes it perform on a par with a petrol equivalent. On a good motorway run the fuel computer reports somewhere between 48 - 50 mpg which in my opinion is very good.
The boot space is very generous allowing 3 sets of golf clubs to be carried and I suspect you could squeze a 4th in as well allthough I have never had to yet. The boot also...

a car full class
Advantages: good on fuel
Disadvantages: none
...Ive had my Mondeo ghia tdci for for six months now,and havent got any complaints at all.the only problem with my mondeo is,it isnt really the colour i wanted.(its aztech blue),but i really wanted a siver one.the reason i got the blue one was,the deal they gave me on it.the y were giving me it for the same price as a basic mondeo. The reason for this was, that it was a cancelled order."so keep your eyes open for these"now on to the car:
considering the size it is one of the most smooth drives ive ever had, seats are very comfortable and the inside has plenty of room.the dashboard is very executive looking, with walnut trim.
the car comes with:
a sony 6 disc cd player(aabsolutely tops cd player)
cruise control
electric windows,mirrors
front and back air bags
digital petrol gauge(which tells you how many miles you have left in...

My Ford
Advantages: All
Disadvantages: No
...grouped in easy-to-follow trims; Style, LX, sporty Zetec and luxurious Ghia, with a racy ST hot hatch range-topper. Three-and five-door variants are offered, with three-doors taking a sportier stance, to the detriment of driver visibility. Engines include a gutless 1.25-litre and preferable 1.4-litre petrol, plus two TDCi diesels - 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre. Again, the larger unit is better. Toping the range are 1.6-litre and 2.0-litre petrols, the latter with 150bhp. No Fiesta is particularly well equipped though, and high-tech features such as voice activation and Bluetooth telephone all cost extra. But interior finish was much improved in 2006 when the car had a mild facelift.
Owning:
Retained values of the Fiesta are average, but economy is good (even the 1.4-litre petrol averages 45mpg) and insurance ratings are OK. Servicing from a Ford...

Ford Focus 1.6 Zetec
Advantages: A great car from all angles
Disadvantages: Not as many extras included as I would have liked
...I am now the proud owner of a ford focus 1.6 zetec and for the first time in many years I have actually found a car that pretty muc suits all my needs.
I have spent many a time in cars that are too big, too small, not suitable, not comfortable etc but this is everything I could ask for.
I own the three door version but the doors open widely and when the front seat is moved forward there is plenty of room to get anyone in the back, even my mother in law who is disabled. The back of this car is extremely spacious, comfortably fitting 3 large adults in.
The boot size is deceiving in that it looks pretty small but is very spacious indeed. Perfect for all those shopping bags as well as a childs pushchair.
The actual drive of this car is superb. Mine runs on unleaded and is very economical. I can get over 200 miles to £35...

I actually bought a Ford
Advantages: Nice to drive; well thought out
Disadvantages: It is still a Ford
...I always said I wouldn't touch any Ford with a barge pole. That was until I was looking for a new car recently. For the money I had to spend (around 10,000GBP) it was a question of balancing getting a nearly new car against a couple of years old car which would have had a higher list price when new.
I decided to go for the option that will (hopefully) cost me less money. I now have a 9 month old Focus 1.6 Zetec with Air Conditioning pack (which includes the heated front screen).
Just so that you know the Focus comes in a number of variations: 1.4, 1.6; 1.8 and 2.0 engine sizes and LX, Zetec, and Ghia trims. There is also a sporty ST170 (170 BHP). And there is just about to be released an RS model (over 200 BHP and the replacement for the Escort Cosworth)
The engine size choice will be down to you. 1.6 and under, from late Y...

Ford's KA - Luxury
Advantages: Great economy, luxury trim, cute car
Disadvantages: A bit slow
...been a tiny bit bigger without any cost to space and this would have made them useful. There is a glove box (a dashboard tray with a pull out cover) that will hold? well, we use ours for gloves and thats about all it will take. Some rear storage for the car breakdown info and a CD storage case
and that's about it.
The instrument panel info is speed, fuel, time and nothing much else - what else would you need? I sometimes think a temp gauge would be nice as I like to know the car has warmed up before I start to speed up my driving in the morning. However, the heater is a good indication of this in winter. I think the minimalist approach actually makes this car smarter. This is what the Ka is about.
In the luxury you get a good set of extras, power heated mirrors, leather trimmed steering wheel, CD Radio (Ford own design), 2 speakers...

Ford Focus 1.6 - Shocking!!
Advantages: Handling and Looks
Disadvantages: Customer Service, Bodywork, Transmission...
...Two years ago I decided to buy a brand new car, and after much research I decided upon the Ford Focus 1.6 (old style now). Everything I had read pointed towards a really good choice. So I went into my local Ford dealer and a week later I had my nice new car.
First thoughts were a good looking car, well built, fantastically smooth to drive, held the roads amazingly well. All of the equipment worked wonderfully well and I absolutley loved my new car. Then the problems began....
After two weeks the Airbag Modulator failed, so I went back to the dealer, and they replaced the faulty part within a few days. They wouldn't let me have a courtesy cat so was left hanging around the dealers for a few hours. All work was under warranty so no cost to me.
Three weeks after the Modulator fault I was washing the car and noticed tiny rust spots...

Ford Fiesta
Advantages: cheap and fun car.
Disadvantages: Not much space on the back seats but its a fiesta not a limo.
...The Ford Fiesta 1.25 is a great car, ford first brought the 1.25 zetec fiesta out in 1996 on the mk4 fiesta, and from that day they put zetec engines in all the fiesta they brought out. The fiesta is still one of the best reliability and cheap car today.
The 1.25 engine is a nippy car and is great for young students who what to drive and buy their first car, but also older people who would like a cheap car.
i've got a fiesta 1.25 zetec and never had no problems with it so far.
In my opinion the Ford fiesta zetec-s 1.6 engine is the best car and would love to have one soon as i saved lots of money up.
The space in the fiesta could be limited for some people but for me there is plenty of room being on my own.
with a fiesta you have to get power streering because its so much easyer than not having it. makes life so much...
