Fort William Rocks !!!
Advantages: Breath-taking views, extremely friendly people
Disadvantages: None that I found...
...~~*~~ INTRODUCTION ~~*~~
Fort William - a delightful place to visit - before I went there 2 summers ago I assumed it was just a fort and not a whole new wonderful holiday experience! Hmm how wrong could I have been? The place where both Rob Roy and Braveheart were filmed, it's definitely a place to see if you believe in exploring the UK's finest places. I'm not an expert at writing travel reviews so please bear with me if this review isn't laid out exactly as you'd expect it to be.
~~*~~ WHERE AND WHAT IS IT? ~~*~~
Well as it's in the "United Kingdom Experience" I'm hoping everyone knows that it's here in the UK but it's right up there in the West Highlands of Scotland.
As the crow flies (or car drives?) it's roughly 500 miles from my home in West London to Fort William, which equates to 8½ hours driving if you average...

A ruin near Fort William
Advantages: tranquil spot
Disadvantages: none
...We stayed on the west coast of Scotland for our holidays and had to go into the nearest big town Fort William. After spending the morning there we headed out along the A 82 to wards Inverness After only about a mile there is a small sign and a turn to Inverlochy castle. A map can be found at. http://www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.srf?x=212500&y=775500&z=3&sv=212500,77550 0&st=4&ar=N&mapp=newmap.srf&searchp=newsearch.srf. The castle is on the edge of the town in a semi industrial area.
After we too the turn we note a car park in front of us we decide not to take it, but turned right over a wooden bridge where we found free parking in another car park. The castle was situated between the two. It seems quite tranquil around the immediate castle are
We had taken a packed lunch with us to eat at the castle so we strolled to the castle...

Fort William stole my heart
Advantages: quiet & peaceful, beautiful scenery, close to Ben Nevis, a perfect lifestyle
Disadvantages: A long way for just a weekend
...I first visited Fort William when I was barely 4 years old. Hardly remembering anything about it, my parents took me back when I was 14 to tour the Highlands and the Hebrides. We stayed a lot longer than planned in Fort William and since then I have been back there every year either with my family or my friends.
Perfect for camping, with plenty of sites not far away, and perfect for those who wish to live the Highland Hotel lifestyle in the glamourous hotels, and bed & breakfasts. Also a perfect setting for renting self-catering accommodation in the area.
As you walk down High Street, you will notice that this is the second largest town of the Highlands, next to Inverness. Plenty of shops at very affordable prices, plenty of gift shops, and plenty of pubs along the street...
I'd sincerely recommend either the Grand hotel...

The mighty fort shopping park
Advantages: A great selection of shops, free parking
Disadvantages: Doesn't have any designer stores
...In the past few years there has been so many of these "shopping centres" popping up all over the uk, having all the major high street shops all located in one place and all under one roof. Normally these places are placed out of town area's and in industrial estates.
The Fort shopping centre is located in Castle Bromwich, Birmingham in the West Midlands
How to get there
----------------------
Get on the A38 Tyburn Road or A452 Chester Road which can be found on either junction 5 or 6 of the M6. Follow the signs to the "Fort Shopping Park" and Star City.
You can't miss it. In the centre there is a massive tower that lights up in the evening.
Facilities
--------------
Unlike most town based shopping centres, the Fort shopping park has free car parking which draws people to it rather than pay to park in Birmingham...

Pred Forte
Advantages: It really works
Disadvantages: Remembering to take them during the day
...and go straight to the nearest Eye Casualty Department, which happens to be at the RVI Hospital in Newcastle. I would recommend you do the same if these symptoms become apparent, and believe me the staff will not think you're wasting their time if you have got Iritis.
Anyway, enough of my rambling. This review isn't about the condition as such, but more the prescription I am given (well it costs £6.40 a bottle) to treat it.
ABOUT PRED FORTE
Pred Forte, or Predisolone acetate to give it its pharmeceutical name, is a steroid (anti inflammatory drug). Coming in the form of milky white coloured eye drops, it is used for the short-term treatment of eye inflammation. It helps to reduce the irritation, burning, redness and swelling associated with eye inflammation.
BEFORE USE
Before prescribing Pred Forte a doctor should ask you...

The Fort Shopping Centre
Advantages: Good shops good variety good quality,
Disadvantages: Not many cheap shops
...There are a number of great shops at the Fort Shopping Park and that's why I decided to write this review.
{EDIT: This one is in Birmingham Erdington not far from spaghetti junction}
First of all lets look at the locality. The Fort is a relatively easy place to get to if your in the car but the public transport routes are poor. There used to be a bus service (the number 11) which dropped you right outside the fort but then this got re-routed. There are no train stations near by so unless you live on the 68 bus route then it will have to be a car to get you there im affraid. The plus side is that there is free parking on two levels and even at christmas and peak times you can find somewhere to park.
Clothes Shops
There are a vast amount of clothes shops at the fort especially for women

~~~ | Worm's Fort, One amazing game | ~~~
Advantages: An amazing array of new weapons. Very good price!
Disadvantages: Hard to control. Takes forever for a game to finish. No more destructable environment. 3+ Rating :
...canary wasn't enough, what about a giant Fridge Launcher throwing clusters of what you would usually find in a fridge, on impact. Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Is it a 50 Stone Canary? No! It's a Super Hippo. For those who don't know what a Super Hippo consists of, it's a Hippo with a Massive rocket strapped to it's back, enough to scare even the new Trojan Donkey, that's if the Trojan Donkey ever strikes, which it does whenever it wants to, maybe this go, maybe next go, noone really knows.
With the weapons out of the way, what is the game really about? The general idea is to build your Fort. Each worm has a Go of 1minute and each of the worms in their 1 minute go has the chance to build one building and fire one weapon. Building has to be done first. From a Main building you can build a Tower, Keep, Castle and then a Citadel. These are the 4...
The magic of Shahjahanabad - Red Fort 2007 Update
Advantages: Historic example of Moghul architecture
Disadvantages: Rarely included in standard tours
...IF YOU HAVE READ THIS BEFORE AND JUST WANT THE UPDATE, SCROLL DOWN TO THE BOTTOM SECTION FOR THE REPORT ON THE SOUND AND LIGHT SHOW.
THANKS
Shahjahanabad
**************
In the middle of the 17th Century, the Moghal Emperor Shahjahan established a new city on the ruins of the previous settlements in the place that today is Delhi and his new city became known as Shahjahanabad - or the city of Shahjahan. Today Shahjahanabad forms the area of the city more commonly referred to as 'Old Delhi' or 'Purani Dilli' in the local lingo. Lal Quila (the Red Fort) is one of Shahjahanabad's best preserved monuments.
'Shahjahan?' you might be saying to yourself, 'Now where have I heard that name before?'
Shahjahan was the Emperor whose love for his wife Mumtaz and distress at her early death led to the building of the Taj Mahal - much...
Ooops update and correction
Advantages: Good shopping, near Ben Nevis
Disadvantages: Can't think of any
...I have decided that it is about time that I updated this opinion, not least because the original title was factually incorrect! I had titled it ‘A ride up Ben Nevis’, as I thought that was what we had done, but it has since been pointed out to me that the gondola ride is in fact up a neighbouring mountain called Aonach Mor! More about that later in the opinion.
Fort William stands at the foot of Ben Nevis and provides an ideal stopping place both for the holiday maker touring the Highlands or for the climber planning to scale Britain’s highest peak.
Just a little bit of history for you, the fort of Fort William was built in the 17th century and demolished in the 1850’s.
The main part of the town is based around one long main street, which provides a good shopping centre. All the main High Street stores...
wonderful - but can be wet
Advantages: breathtaking scenery, loads to do, inside and outside activities for all ages
Disadvantages: often rains, quite expensive
...I have been on holiday to Fort William almost every year since I was 3 months old. I have always gone with my family, as my Dad and a friend like to go for the hill walking in the area, which of course, is fabulous around here. Fort William is a great base for a huge variety of different walks, to suit all ages, levels and experience. Obviously, there is Ben Nevis, which looms over Fort William and dominates the area, although I personally feel that Ben Nevis itself is now becoming more of a tourist attraction rather than a challenge to an experienced walker. Dad has kept away from the tourist path for a good few years now, prefering to venture on to Sgurr a Mhaim, or into Glencoe. Remember when walking round this area that it can sometimes be very dangerous - accidents do happen - so always leave details with someone from where you...
